hop I can't steal your patterns. I couldn't give knitting patterns away, even if I knew I wouldn't use them again there's something about hoarding them as part of my collection. I'd happily have copies of any old-fashioned baby cardis though.

I've got some amazing cardi patterns, I'll try and do some copies this week and send them to you? I might be able to scan them in and email them if that's easier?

The Boi has had very loose nappies for the past couple of days. He's fine. Eating normally, no other signs of illness - apart from a red raw bum.Hmm (although he was quite lethargic in Saturday.) Do I need to make him fast, or do you think it'll just pass. I'm guessing he's just eaten something that has disagreed with him... He got a rash from the chlorine in the pool on Friday afternoon. Could that be related?
So I'm working from home as the cm won't have runny bums. Waiting for an acceptable time to call mum's. 9 o'clock, the time is now.

TheOnlySeven · 11/02/2014 11:40

oi I wouldn't make him fast if he's happy eating normally, but perhaps stick to quite plain foods for a couple of days.

hop email is fine thanks, will PM you.

I wouldn't bother if he seems fine. Has he eaten anything different (or more of one particular thing)? Tomatoes have a similar affect on DS.

I think I might have to stay at work to lock up after a training session tonight, that doesn't end until 9. I have no words for how much I do not want to have to do this. Should be getting a call at 3 to let me know numbers, and I'm quietly hoping that no one will come.

TheOnlySeven · 11/02/2014 19:38

Hope you're not still at work hop.

Where is everyone else? Hellooo?

I've had an awful headache all afternoon, DCs have all been overtired and whingey, fun times.

Christ... I left work at 5.50, and got home at 7.20. I live 3.5, maybe 4 miles from work. Bloody evil traffic, means the buses are delayed and then short journey takes 45 minutes. At least the new oven arrived today, my cranberry Rangemaster, and it should get plumbed in tomorrow!

How're you feeling seven, and how's DD? Have you got your booking in appointment yet- I'm sure it'll feel like seconds til you're at your first scan!

And how's your DD faffin, has she perked up at all?

I'd just go for plain stodge Oi, toast, milk, biscuits, not much fruit, etc. Hope his little bottom clears up soon. Have you pounced on DH yet Wink?

What are people's plans for Valentine's by the way? We're going to be using the new oven to do a nice meal on the Saturday, bottle of fizz, nothing too crazy- a weekend of sorting out the spare bedroom and trips to the tip awaits!

mopsytop · 11/02/2014 21:17

Oooh new oven! Exciting Northern!!
Could you walk home from work or do you have a big heavy laptop to carry?

Horrid here. Windy, wet, freezing. Think it is going to really freeze overnight so might have to get train tomorrow. Ugh.

mopsytop · 11/02/2014 21:19

Oops meant to say that we don't do vally day normally. But I've been working SO hard lately, I thought would be nice to have a nice dinner and glass of bubbles. Wine

CaffeinatedKitten · 11/02/2014 21:21

Recovering from migraine. Today is the 'hangover' stage. Ow.

As for schools, Elderspawn is on tenterhooks as she finds out her senior school a fortnight on Monday!

I am about to extricate myself from a lineup of cats and head to bed. I've managed to keep some food down so it's all good.

Figster · 11/02/2014 21:24

Valentines day is a hallmark
Holiday in this house we don't even do cards.........commercialised twaddle Grin also dh and I not getting on again so even if I wasn't a massive cynic he'd be getting bugger all!!

Northern that's a hell of a journey!!

Oi hope boi is doing better.

mopsytop · 11/02/2014 21:27

Oh no kitten. Massive sympathies. Migraines suck the most. Hope you are much better tomorrow.

Faffin · 11/02/2014 22:16

Thanks for asking after her again northern. I am currently in my own bed which is an improvement on the last two nights, but it may only last five mins. Poor mite is covered top to toe, is very itchy and still has no appetite. Nights are worse because she gets hot and extra itchy. Don't know how I ever coped with newborn stage and sleepless nights, two nights on DD's floor have nearly finished me off.

to migraines and bad journeys. G'night all

TheOnlySeven · 11/02/2014 23:50

Sounds like she's really suffering faffin, hope tonight is a better one. I take it DS is still clear from it ?

northern what a journey! I had booking in at 8 weeks (I'm now 11), there was a space the day after I first went to GP. I've got my scan next Wednesday, thanks for asking :)

Horribly cold and wet here, though we've had a fire lit tonight so not all bad. DH is cooking us a nice meal for V day, though he should have been down to work, if his shift hadn't changed we wouldn't have bothered with doing anything.

OP posts:
Aethelfleda · 12/02/2014 06:50

Urgh: DH is insisting on trying to commute in today. It took him 3 hours ffo get to work yesterday cos the trains are one an hour being signalled in by hand due to the flooding. This officially counts as Not Learning...

Wow seven, eleven weeks already?!?! Very exciting...

How did the night go faffin?

Take care in the winds and rain today guys, it's a very soggy one according to the radio...

OiMissus · 12/02/2014 07:42

Wow Seven! Things are moving quickly!!
I did the pouncing, but gave DH the night off yesterday as he had twisted awkwardly and his repaired hernia bits were very sore. Diddums. Sort yerself out, we need a baby!
We're away this weekend. DH bought tix to th'opera in Cardiff (la Traviata) for my birthday last year. So we're going Saturday morning til late Sunday. Grin The Boi is going to my mum and dads. ( I really hope his tummy gets better, otherwise mum will have him all week...).
Sorry for those suffering with floods and travel disruption.
I suppose that's the good thing about being oooop north, all the water trickles downwards. (That's the way it works, isn't it? Wink)

OiMissus · 12/02/2014 07:44

Faffin - sorry- forgot to say, hugs for you and your LO. Saw the pics on fb. Poor baby! Hmm

Faffin · 12/02/2014 07:50

Thanks all. Hurray for sleep Grin she slept through after a few wakeups before I'd gone to bed, so I got to sleep all night in my own bed. I feel almost human this morning. She's just eaten lots of cereal so it seems her appetite is coming back too. DS still clear, but I'm sure it's a case of when rather than if he gets it too.

Figster · 12/02/2014 13:30

Just been out to the shops it is thoroughly manky out there did pick up some white chocolate pancakes though......diet what diet??

Oi Cardiff sounds nice are you staying in the centre? DH wants to see La Boheme this year need to look out for it somwhere.

Dh should hear something about job or no job today ......expecting another interview tbh. We had another chat about 2nd dc last night he still doesnt want 2, worries about the pressure it will put on our relationship and feels like he has no choice but to agree as otherwise i will hate him/leave him and take ds with me. He is working towards us having one though and i have told him that while having a baby by the end of the year is highly unlikely now i would like to be pg by end of year........So then leaves me worrying that he will then just end up resenting/hating me so it is a catch 22. In the meantime i have "won" some very expensive highly valued training which had been put out to our national team to put ourselves forward for, I figure i need to make the most of training and getting career in a great place before i go off again.

Dh off out tonight so once ds is in bed i am catching up on new walking dead and this years big reunion.....might leap around and pretend i am exercising too.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 12/02/2014 13:55

You know when you have SO much to do that your brain kind of switches off and you think dicking around tidying up your email account is a good idea?

Yeah
That

mopsytop · 12/02/2014 14:45

Know the feeling Hop. I'm currently (procrastinating on mumsnet) trying to write exam questions and I have not even written the lectures yet. GAH.

hinkyhonk · 12/02/2014 15:17

marvellous and totally agree - i'm supposed to be writing a concept paper and planning strategy days....

NorthernChinchilla · 12/02/2014 19:18

Tonight's journey took 45 minutes...totally ridiculous how much it varies Confused. Is your DH back aethel? And tho' we have cooker, it's not fully operational, as we need an electrician to finish it off. But can use the hob, so Valentine's meal is saved!

So glad she slept through faffin, result! And given the cereal munching, it sounds like she's on the mend. It must be a bugger knowing that you're more than likely going to have repeat in two weeks.

I can't believe you've got your scan next week seven, where is the time going? Seriously, which one of you is stealing it?! But how exciting for you, and can't wait to hear how it goes.

Hope you're feeling a bit better kitten, sounds grim.

CaffeinatedKitten · 12/02/2014 19:28

I'm functioning without pain today. Thank you. Tomorrow I am going to try to face toddler group. Jittery just thinking about it but needs must, the Small is going crazy with just me for company >_

Faffin · 12/02/2014 20:07

She's definitely on the mend now fortunately. Not nearly as itchy and just waiting for her to get fully crusted overso she can go out in public again. Not great knowing we'll probably be doing it again very soon, but at least I'm getting a night or two to recuperate before round two!

Glad you have a hob at least for your meal northern. We're another couple who don't do v day, so much so that DH propsed on v day one year because he wanted it to be a surprise and knew I'd think he'd never do it on that day! This year I will be going to choir. If DH is lucky I'll come home and have a drink with him instead of staying for a drink with choir Grin

Hope you have a good night kitten and feel suitably refreshed to face a room full of toddlers tomorrow
