Am back. mildly annoyed about having to check remember and change lots of passwords but hey, that'll teach me for using lots of different ones....

yay and good luck to seven's DH......

ProfessionalKiller · 13/04/2014 11:02

Hello. Been lurking as always. Am sat watching the marathon waiting for dh to fix the washing line so I can get the three loads I've done so far this morning dry. Ironing is up to date ignores wet laundry, the ironing basket is empty
Then must do meal plans for week, do food shop, take ds to park as promised. Rock and roll!

OiMissus · 13/04/2014 14:24

Watching Thomas. Boi doesn't nap with us, but was getting really narky, so we're having some enforced Thomas rest. Smile
I have done my ironing.
I need to pack for Germany tomorrow. I have a sales agent conference. ...my presentation slot (1hr) is at 5pm at the end of the first day (Tuesday). I'm going to have to make it lively and interactive, otherwise they'll all be asleep!

Aethelfleda · 13/04/2014 16:07

oi, I recommend googling Youtube for "Ich Bin Ein Gummibar" (I am a gummi bear): it 's what all the cool kids dance to, and is guaranteed to perk up the meeting if they flag halfway through!

Aethelfleda · 13/04/2014 18:54

Oh, and DS is doing well with the pants thing. Phew....
Now let's see how many pairs of pants I need to send to nursery with him tomorow....four to be on the safe side?

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 13/04/2014 20:05

Have fun in Germany oi, was nice to catch up on Fri, must be better and getting together.

Can't believe all you lot potty training, it's just not even on the radar at the minute.

We've had a mixed bag of a day. DS slept till nearly 8, which was nice, then threw a total wobbly when I was changing him; thrashing around, poo flying everywhere and I'm ashamed to say I slapped him on the leg to get him to stay still. Urgh, Shit mum moment. After lots of (poo free) cuddles and a big chat about how mummy gets cross too but it's not nice to hit and mummy shouldn't have done it, we went to local-ish national trust place. Had a fun day until we decided to try and walk round the house. DS just threw a massive strop about not being allowed to Touch All The Things and DH had to carry him out after a couple of warnings, with DS screetching 'I'll be nice! No go!'. Over tired and much? This evening I tried to get him to do some colouring but he just kept eating all the crayons (ew? why?! It's so weird!) and then threw a strop about him milk not being ready the exact second he wanted it. The screaming demands at me is Not Cool. I'm knackered and have sent DH upstairs to do bedtime while I try and do a bit of work. Or you know, mumsnet. Need to figure out a plan of action for tomorrow so we don't get the bored mummy/child grumps. Think park and ducks might be in order.

Figster · 13/04/2014 21:29

Hop saw the pictures of your day out on fb that place looks awesome!! We've had a similar day with DS such hard work toys being thrown, mega sulks over everything, spitting out his anti biotics he was asleep by 7.15 though which is unheard of.

Watching grease 2 well mainly ffwd through the film to the musical numbers love it!!!

NorthernChinchilla · 13/04/2014 21:44

Us neither Hop on the potty training. I know what you mean about NT/EH places, I'd spend my life in those if I could, but I know taking DS in there would mean "Toddler Eats Priceless Antiquities, Authorities Fume- Parents' Shame" style headlines locally...

DS has been to three new parks this weekend- admittedly one was by the supermarket next to my work, as he was hurling a strop (and his bottle of milk) round the place. We'll make arrangements for me to do it on my own from now on, it's just been fitting new arrangements with the new house/town, and finding on-line shopping was not as great as I expected...
But the other two parks were fantastic, and I'm knackered Smile. Also had a wild time in town, bought painkillers, a new duvet and some grass clippers, anyone beat that for sheer glamour?! Wink

Good luck in Germany Oi, hope you get a bit of time to drink relax and sightsee!

Aethelfleda · 14/04/2014 07:54

Wow, painkillers and a duvet, Rock And Roll! that sounds exactly like my life actually

Cunning Plan today is to send DS to nursery and tale the DDs swimming, hopefully on Weds we will then get to go ice skating! (Special request from the DDs, I am beyond lousy at iceskating!!) It's holiday mode over here, last night was spent with a special "screening" of Prince Caspian on the tellybox...

Figster · 14/04/2014 09:22

I think my cm might be a hypochondriac she said DS had a rash this morning when dh dropped him off I hadn't noticed anything, apparently scarlet fever is at a peak in Bristol ATM so hopefully it's just made her paranoid he's still there for now. I had it when I was a kid was in hospital with temp of over 100 kid in bed next to me was 1 degree hotter and died so very wary of it!!

Work day gone to shit already too hey ho

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 14/04/2014 09:52

I'm so tired. This no sleeping in his bed shit has to stop. Am investing in a sticker chart and iron clad willpower. He woke me up by deliberately kicking me in the face, and I've done nothing but bellow at him since then. Fucking awful parenting. I just can't cope with toddler behaviour (he's tired too) and no sleep. Were going out to the park since it's sunny, maybe fresh air will help us both?

QueenofClean1 · 14/04/2014 10:37

marking place

mopsytop · 14/04/2014 12:24

Hi everyone sorry didn't get around to changing passwords until just now. So many to change. Ugh.

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 14/04/2014 18:37

I can't change my fb one as I specifically used a fake email address for fb for untraceableness, it's not linked to anything else so I'll be fine with that right?

NC-er, the one due in Dec 14 who isn't mopsy or chip. Grin

((hop)), DS1 has gone from the 12hr sleeper to awake constantly (had 5 hours sleeps last night, he's still going now).

Aethelfleda · 14/04/2014 22:23

Aargh, it's all gone pear shaped. dS had a peeing-on-floor-and pant ninja moment or three this afternoon, guess the novelty has worn off!....

.... And then went to wash up to discover no hot water: me boiler has died. Argh. Hopefully it just needs tweaking (as it seems to be a pressure drop which is apparently a common thing with combi boilers). Have put extra blankets on the DC and hope we can get someone to check it tomorrow. Fun fun fun, good job it's April!

Figster · 15/04/2014 08:14

Aethel hope you've all survived the night it was quite cold this morning off to work in my thick winter tights still.

I found out I was pg 3yrs ago today gosh time flies does it not

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 15/04/2014 10:44

Posted on FB but last night's attempt at implementing a sticker chart for sleeping in his bed all night went well. Once wake up and I managed to get him to go back to sleep. First thing he said this morning (when we woke him up) was 'can I have sticker?'

Aethelfleda · 15/04/2014 19:05

Boiler is fixed. Phew. It had burst a blood vessel (kinda). New vessel = lighter wallet but working boiler.

And DS's Operation Potty a lot better today not counting the single "arrr-mummee-dunna-poo" moment (at least he told me!) he's certainly trying, bless him. Will give it a few more days and see how it goes. I don't want him to get stressed out by it but it would be SO great if we could crack this....

NorthernChinchilla · 15/04/2014 19:27

Glad the boiler's OK aethel, it's such a worry when they go. Still annoyed that we've not got a combi here- we had a new one installed a couple of years ago in the old house, and now have a conventional here. By the way, do describe a 'pant ninja' moment, the mind boggles!

So glad the stickers have worked, let's hope it continues Hop. Did you do the park and ducks in the end? And don't beat yourself up, we all go through moments of crap toddler-wrangling, it's inevitable.

How're you getting on mopsy, how's the anxiety? Hope it's staying away like the migraines!

We had an accidental lie-in yesterday: DS woke at half 5, but with some sort of nightmare, so I took him into the spare bed (or 'cuddle bed' as it's know Smile) and he passed out again, I dozed. DP joined us at 6.40am when our alarm goes off, and just got in for a brief snuggle...and then cue us all waking to find it was 7.40am!! That's longer than DS has ever slept, and we had to leave the house in half an hour Shock

mopsytop · 15/04/2014 20:33

Feeling a bit less anxious Northern, thanks.

Great that boiler was fixable aethel. Something going wrong with boiler always brings the fear of bank account emptying repairs ... or of having to rip a hole in the wall after you'd just had the room plastered and painted (in our case!)

Hop sticker chart sounds a great idea. Might need to start with Minimopsy. She is beginning to get a bit naughty/trying the boundaries....

I have such a wee pouch already although only 6 weeks. Bloat-tastic Sad Sad Sad

mopsytop · 15/04/2014 20:35

northern migraines not too bad either. Fingers crossed v hard. I think it was about this time last time that they got majorly out of hand...

Also yay on impromptu lie in. 7.40. Heaven. Every morning I feel like I'd give anything ANYTHING for a lie in. My kingdom for a lie in. Ha. Fat chance.

Aethelfleda · 15/04/2014 21:31

northern, a ninja-pant-moment is when you KNOW he had pants on a microsecond ago, but somehow, your attention is diverted and all of a sudden, without a sound or a discrernable movement, the pants are ten feet away from his bottom and he has the ooh-I'm-about-to-strain face.

It is combatted by the pick-small-child-up-and-leg-it-to-the-downstairs-loo motion (during which I repeatedly thank Bob we have mostly hard flooring downstairs). I do not remember the DDs doing this!!! but I'm old and it was a while ago

mopsytop · 15/04/2014 21:36

Thanks aethel but I'm afraid paracetamol are no more use than nothing when I've a migraine Sad. That's what made it so unbearable last time.

Figster · 16/04/2014 07:54

Shit I think DS has Scarlet fever he's got a rash on his face and his neck he is grumpy as sin and he's got pink cheeks. Was supposed to working from home today so I might be able to get away with having him here and working around him is no way the childminder will have him. Cases are skyhigh in this area so I won't be surprised if it is have to be getting into the doctors when they open.

Fuck sticks that's Easter prob down the tubes

mopsytop · 16/04/2014 08:05

Oh dear figgy Sad Sad Big sympathies winging your way. Hope figgyboy isn't too miserable...
