Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

GT hugs, your FH really does need to grow up. I would be mad enough if DH got into that state now when F is 15 months. I would be furious if I was also dealing with a 4 month old. Not impressed on your behalf.
Det I would like to add that I'm not jealous either - not even a touch. Nope.
F had his best week ever last week - he slept until 7.30am giving me a wonderful lie in for 3 days in a row and I thought maybe we had cracked it. Usually 6 is awesome. this week its up for 2 hours each night then up at 6. I am on my knees after 4 nights of this and struggling not to just sit and cry.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 11/02/2014 08:42

We haven't had a monitor for ages either Blush ours broke too.

Hope you are are ok this morning gt and FH feels really ill. He really needs to sort himself out. Easier said than done I realise but that is appalling behaviour.

Snow atop the mountains this morning, let's see if it makes it down to sea level by the end of the day.

Today is my day off. So I have laundry, I have a bookshelf to build for Ds1, tea with a neighbour (could do without I like my Tuesdays alone), and I want to go and get some bits for the girls visit. Only 6 sleeps to go Grin

Would it be a travesty to do mac n cheese with mini penne? Or should I go and get some mac? I have found a slow cooker version so am going to give it a go today.

Pikz · 11/02/2014 08:47

We have no monitor either. L unplugs it!

Another rubbish night here.

Period finally arrived. First off the pill. Feel like I'm dying. Taking all my energy to stay sitting I this traffic jam and not to go home and sleep under a duvet all day.

Elizadoesdolittle · 11/02/2014 08:59

sophia I have mac in the cupboard, feel free to have some. Alternatively small penne will be fine. How do you do it in the slow cooker?

det I was just thinking this morning that me and DH breed good sleepers. It is rare for either of them to wake before 8am (sorry quiche).

gt Grrrr at fh. if it was a one off I would be more understanding but it's all too regular with him. And on a Monday night too. Does he have to work this week?

We have E's swimming lesson this morning. However she can't seem to keep anything down. Was heaving before actually eating anything and things come straight back up as soon as she's swallowed it. She seems absolutely fine though. Very odd. Guess I'll chance swimming and if she gets unhappy get straight out.

GTbaby · 11/02/2014 09:42

Det try to encourage the quiet play time in bed in morning.
What we inadvertently did with H. Is lovely taking our time with him in morning. Also takes pressure off me when I'm dealing with both alone.

FH has come off a string of nights. A few of his friends are self employed so they know no weekend. It's just whenever they are all free. And when they are they are stupid.
He has got up early with H today at least without having to kick him out of bed.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 11/02/2014 09:58

Much the same ways as on the stove. Hmm but you make your white sauce and then just bung the whole thing in the slow cooker. I usually add paprika and drained chopped toms to mine with crispy bacon on top but we will see. Tbh if it works it would be handy as I find if I pre do mine it is never as nice heated up as when fresh.

Is an experiment tonight as the girls love my mac n cheese so I need to see if this will cut the mustard On A busy day next week. I aim do do all their fave things in one swift half term!

Penne is fine, don't worry sophia.

det o sleeps really well but can't squeeze more than 12 hours out of her. How do you do like 14 hours?
No monitor here either, stopped using the angelcare at 12 months. And never had any other ones.

ChasingDaisy · 11/02/2014 12:40

O has been known to sleep 13-14 hours. His sleep is going through a rough patch at the moment though - nap dodging, wake ups during the night and early starts. I think it is a developmental leap - he is on his feet a lot at the moment - plus the ends of a cold and two incisors poking through.

GTbaby · 11/02/2014 12:44

Just back from a&e. a fell off changing station. Feeling shit about it. He is totally ok. No bruises. But I wanted to get him checked out for my own peace of mind.

ChasingDaisy · 11/02/2014 12:53

Oh GT Sad hugs. I'm glad he's ok. We've all been there. Remember my A&E dash when O fell off the bed? He was absolutely fine, but I didn't stop shaking all day. Honestly, A won't remember a thing x

Pikz · 11/02/2014 14:05

Big hugs GT. It's stupidly scary but they are more resilient than we give them credit.

The good news is he will never remember

Lily311 · 11/02/2014 14:14

Oh gosh, gt. I know how you feel, it was terrible when O fall down from the bed. Huge hugs

GTbaby · 11/02/2014 14:35

Just so thankful he fell onto a bath mat. FH was changing him and feels so bad.
He has a habit of letting things like this get to him and then starts drinking/using it as an excuse.
A has actually been good today. Played on his mat giggled and laughed. So I'm feeling better.

Pikz · 11/02/2014 14:42

Was having a convo with PR and I sent her this. It might be relevant to some of you too. Best advice I was ever

imagine life as a game juggling 5 balls- work, family, health, friends and personal integrity and you have to keep them all in the air. You quickly realise that all but one of the balls are made of glass and when dropped will be scuffed, marked, nicked, damage or even shatter. One is made of rubber, that's the work ball. It will always bounce back in some way in some direction. Not necessarily how you expect as it's rubber and unpredictable but it will bounce

Kyz · 11/02/2014 14:45

Hi guys, I've got a lot of catching up to do but hope all is well, e is much more himself now

Back later, hoping to keep up now, I mean what else could go wrong?!?

GTbaby · 11/02/2014 14:49

Pizk really like that analogy

Kyz · 11/02/2014 14:53

Eek gt glad a is ok though bless you both :) sorry just skipped back and read about his fall.

Fab analogy pikz

Will keep reading back when I have spare time, just about to get tea on though

ValiumQueen · 11/02/2014 15:50

Thank you Pikz Thanks I needed that.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 11/02/2014 15:54

I really needed that too pikz that you.

Glad a is ok gt hope you are. Xx

Pikz · 11/02/2014 16:35

Sorry if it was a bit random but when the corporate world overwhelms me I have it on my laptop. I read it to remind me that this is not life, my life is outside of this. This here now in front of my PC in a shiny office is my rubber ball.

PetiteRaleuse · 11/02/2014 17:27

It's excellent pikz thanks again.

I have two knackered toddlers here waiting for the chicken to roast so they can eat and go to bed happy. Feeling content.

YellowWellies · 11/02/2014 17:59

Pikz that's lovely! And exactly how I view my freelance.

I've just escaped a dinner disaster, distractedly cuddling a hot, snotty, teething bear I nearly poured katsu curry sauce over the dairy free Eton mess rather than on the panko chicken! Shock

Pikz · 11/02/2014 18:22

YW that proper made me chuckle!!
