Grrr. Same here.

isles I have the same colour sofa. Powell, I bought the same colour one in May. It's quite greyish now at some points. It has marks, I need to get it cleaned actually. I love the colour still but it's not child friendly at all. Or adult friendly, even green tea made marks on it.

Evilwater · 07/02/2014 19:22

Well ex texted again to say he was ill again. Hmm so I took N to stay and play.
Phoned the finance guy, and he told me to check my credit report as the ex could have taken loans and things in my name. But he hasn't. Grin so my score is excellent. Grin
So here's hoping I might be able to get a morgate.

TheDetective · 07/02/2014 19:26

See, kids will be kids, and do these things. But it just boils down to how you, as their parent, deal with it.

I think that's the general rule. Your child does something socially unacceptable, you apologise, and you remind your child that they should not bite/hit/pinch in an age appropriate way. At this age, I say to O 'ah ah, no, we don't bite people' while wagging finger and looking stern. I remove and/or distract if necessary.

It's doing nothing that turns them in to wee shites. Grin.

Passmethecrisps · 07/02/2014 19:50

Hia lovelies.

Welcome to mummy!

ditsy p hands me her cup and unwanted food and gets extremely upset if I don't remove them completely from here eye line. Could that be it. P actually stretches out to touch stuff then gets really upset when she realises she still can and tries to push it away with her fingertips.

I am very, very impressed with your weight loss det!

isles that sofa is my favourite. My second favourite is the ikea one. If the covers can be stain proofed or washed then I would say go for your life.

P's favourite thing at the moment is trying to bite my nose and last week it was pinching. It actually didn't take her long to twig that I wasn't impressed with the pinching so she stopped. I couldn't promise that she wouldn't do it again but I would be mortified if she hurt someone and I would apologise to the parent.

Congrats on passing your theory chasing!! Good job.

That must be a massive relief for you evil. You deserve to catch a break.

Work is so intense at the moment. I haven't slept properly for well over a week - not getting to sleep for hours, frequent waking and nightmares. Horrible.

A colleague earlier told me he couldn't take any more. 6 1/2 foot burly bloke looking like he could fall to pieces any minute. He then told me that he has read a story about a man being injured having been hit by a car and his first thought was 'lucky bastard' Sad

ChasingDaisy · 07/02/2014 20:12

Oh pass, that's really sad Sad I remember having thoughts like that. I hope you manage to have a relaxing weekend.

O tries to feed me food that he doesn't want. At lunch today, a waiter bought over some complimentary bread sticks for O - who then proceeded to force feed me the lot. Literally. He shoves them in my mouth and pushes it in until I eat it Hmm. He has lots of cute quirks at the moment. It's a lovely but tiring age.

BigPigLittlePig · 07/02/2014 20:16

How sad Pass. Are things really that bad at work?

Welcome to Mummy.

Do we know how Kyzs E is today?

Well done Chasing and Det.

Another storm beginning here. Yuck. F has been egg free for a few days and sleeping better so fingers crossed. Her eczema is virtually gone too and she had a bath tonight without screaming.

Pikz · 07/02/2014 20:16

Vomit vomit everywhere

ChasingDaisy · 07/02/2014 20:27

Oh, I meant to mention that before pig - the first time O had a screaming aversion to the bath it was because his eczema was so sore Sad GT - how is H with the bath now? You mentioned nappy rash a while ago - could that have been causing his bad reaction to the bath?

PurplePidjin · 07/02/2014 20:34

Chasing it's the mother doing nothing that would make me Angry

Pass Sad

R rejected boob after a few minutes tonight and was asleep by the time I'd got the monitor plugged in downstairs Hmm after a few tricky nights i don't know whether that's a good thing or not! He insisted on self settling last night too. Nursing strike or weaning?

BigPigLittlePig · 07/02/2014 20:34

Oh no Pikz Sad

Passmethecrisps · 07/02/2014 20:41

Oh no to vomit pikz!

Work is pretty awful but no one is likely to die so at the end of the day we will all be fine. In my 14 year career though, I have never seen things as difficult. It was so sad to see my pal so desperately struggling

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/02/2014 20:47

Oh no pikz , pants. Can you work out why?

Are you ok bp do we need to set you and zamboni up with a swallows and amazons style pully system so we can winch you a basket of sandwichs, cake and homemade lemonade?

That is an amazeballs sofa stormy couldn't you get the ikea one though and get some really nice cushions using inspiration from expensive sofa? alternatively if you really love it just go and buy the damn thing Wink

DH amazing tonight, apart from my fb worry I was also worrying about another financial matter, (nursery forgot to invoice us in dec so have landed feb and dec on me at once) told DH and he just said to pay it. I was really stressing about telling him. It was such a non issue. I love it when he does that but woe betide me if I don't put the car keys in the "place" Grin

I have Come to bed to listen to the rain and the wind, catch up with supersize vs super skinny and try for a great nights sleep.

YellowWellies · 07/02/2014 21:04

Isles its v nice - if you can pay that much for a chair without palpitations - then go for it! You clearly love it Smile . As Pass said though get it stainguarded if possible as the colour looks a bit risky? Is it comfy?

Pikz · 07/02/2014 21:11

L asleep and washing machine on overdrive. Very bad cold, molars and a ton of snot meant for a lot of vomit everywhere. Despite showers and cleaning I can still smell it.

Big hugs pass, that is really sad.

I do very much like the sofa isles

Errr can't remember anything else. The smell of vomit is driving me mad

PetiteRaleuse · 07/02/2014 21:15

Sympathy pikz we had vom here tonight too. My fault, I squirted the paracetamol in too fast and it went down the wrong way I think. LO coughed it and her dinner up.

ValiumQueen · 07/02/2014 21:36

Not more vomit? Not fair at all. Sod off illness please.

J seems to be recovering from his milk exposure. Still don't know if it was whole milk, formula or growing up stuff. Hard to settle again tonight and his skin is red but he is ok. I think. I will be writing a letter of complaint as nothing was written in his diary, there was no accident/incident form completed and the staff today knew nothing of it and said it hadn't happened. Not impressed at all tbh.

Pass sorry to hear of work stresses. Could your union help? Why don't you start a thread on FB. It might help to vent in a safe place. I might do the same as I have had colleagues in tears today, and shed a few myself. Looking back it was almost comical - me and the consultant handing each other tissues. We both cry when we are angry and it is a very annoying habit. Because we both have the same affliction we just let rip with the sobs and felt a lot betterGrin

StormyIsles · 07/02/2014 21:38

Thanks laydeez Grin. It will come down to the comfort test on Wednesday I've taken a sodding holiday next week as I am totally wiped out. I will get it stain guarded and if all else fails, I have a friend who owns their own upholstery cleaning business. and I have an amazeballs steam cleaner I figure I can justify one extravagant purchase for my house as all my other furniture is cheap/second hand. Plus I have never had a brand new sofa

Hope you're okay BPLP - storm looks scary business.

Sophia I've not read fb but glad all seems okay x

Pass you are not the first "worker in your sector" I've heard saying something like that. I am half expecting a phonecall from one of my best man friends to say he has resigned any day now. My best best friend is actively trying to get pregnant so she can take a year out. I am mostly just glad I got out when I did. Confused Your poor colleague sounds utterly broken Sad

Pom poms for detective !!

Chasing I too would be annoyed at the total ignorance.

We have our first swimming lesson since October tomorrow morning - I am sooo looking forward to spending a whole day with M. First in as long as I can remember Sad

YellowWellies · 07/02/2014 21:54

I am feeling mucho smug Smile was wracking my brains about what to get DH for Valentines - we both tend to prefer 'events' rather than 'things' and he treated me to a lovely massage and pedicure at Centre Parcs - I have just found out that Yo Sushi do a 'sushi school' - sushi making classes. A pressie we could both benefit from Grin!

BigPigLittlePig · 07/02/2014 22:05

Am just concerned about the roof. Haven't been able to get hold of the LL all week to let him know. Might send dh up in the roof tomorrow if we can borrow some ladders.

Can't believe all these accidental dairy challenges. VQ, that's the stuff of nightmares. Dreadful of nursery not to acknowledge it. I would be getting v cross in your shoes.

YW that sounds like a great present. We don't do valentines as it's our wedding anniversary the week after. Feels like a lot longer than 2 yrs lol.

FatimaLovesBread · 07/02/2014 22:47

I'm MIA and shite at keeping up.
I'm still recovering from the virus I started with last thurs which has now turned in to an infected tonsil, an ear I can't hear out of and antibiotics Sad

And to top things off M threw a mug on the floor in a rage after I told her to give it back to daddy, it landed square on my big toe nail. Safe to say I screamed. Poor poorly toe

BigPigLittlePig · 07/02/2014 23:28

Dear,
Teeth, colds, reflux - if you could kindly fuck off to the far side of fucksville, that would be great.
Yours,
Mummy pig

GTbaby · 07/02/2014 23:41

GTbaby · 08/02/2014 00:14

GTbaby · 08/02/2014 01:00

Before I say the nxt thing I want to state we have not dtd for 9 months.

I have that hungry feeling I had which prompted me to POAS with A. Very weird.

Pikz · 08/02/2014 06:19

I love seeing every hour... I do
