Hello ladies, can you believe we will be entering into a 6th year of this thread this year?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
IAmDeids · 28/02/2014 16:05

Wow lady that is fantastic news!!Grin Good luck with the scan, I'm so pleased for you.

Was going to catch up but the excitement of lady's post has made me go blank.

ShadyLadyT · 28/02/2014 16:09

I'm at the clinic, waiting to go in. There's a delay. It's one of the stick the magic wands up yer fanny jobs as early scans usually are. I cannot deny it's exciting but trying not to get too jazzed in case there's a problem.

Mckayz · 28/02/2014 16:34

Lady, I hope the scan goes well! It's very exciting.

Had another tattoo today, bugger me my arm hurts!!

sybilfaulty · 28/02/2014 18:05

What lovely news, Lady. Congratulations. I hope everything was good at the scan(and that its just the one, although twins would be FANTASTIC too).

There are lots of ageing mums round here. One of my school mum friends is pregnant at 46. She'll be 47 when it's born. You are a spring chicken by comparison.

Bon weekend everyone.

beans37 · 28/02/2014 19:07

Hee hee Lady I read your post as getting jazzed at having the wand up your fanny!! sorry. dirty mind.

today has been so busy. DD3 had her first little music class and loved it. she SAT UP throughout the whole thing. little genius. then swimming for the 2 big ones then supper bath and bed rush. big girls now watching Power Rangers. what a load of twaddle. littlest conked out 15 mins ago.

large glass of white wine heading my way. poor DH not home til 9. mean on a Friday.

Indith · 28/02/2014 20:19

Ah a sense of deja vu. Ds1 had really bad night terrors around ds2's age. Today, fed up of not getting the baby to bed until 9.30pm we asked the CM not to let him nap. He went to sleep and was in bed by 7pm. He started screaming before 8. Typical.

ShadyLadyT · 01/03/2014 00:20

DD1 gets

Heartychoke · 01/03/2014 07:41

V cryptic post there Lady! Hope you had a restful eve. Let me record my congrats again but on here this time. Don't be nervous about having three, its a lovely number especially with a good gap between the oldest and youngest. My girls just love having a baby around and DS brings them such joy day in and day out. Watching them with him is such fun but they are also properly helpful. What will you age gaps be? Mine were 6yrs 8 months and 4 years 4 months.

Heartychoke · 01/03/2014 07:44

I meant to also congratulate Indith on completing Y1 of training. Good job Indith! Enjoy your break.

Rubes, are you still v busy? What's going on?

DS is (I must whisper this)... sleeping through! Two weeks of perfect evening settling and no night wakes. He rises early but we won't dwell on that in this celebratory post.

Indith · 01/03/2014 07:52
Envy

night 1 of getting ds2 to bed at bedtime. night terror at 8. woke at 10 and fed. woke another 2 times overnight and fed then went back to dh for selling. woke at 6.30 for the day.

Am hoping that of we can improve the night sleep then we will somehow get a natural balance for naps if any. and if he is getting enough sleep and had a routine we will avoid terrors. ds1 suffered so badly with them. If he had a bad night of terrors he could end up having one during his nap too.

ShadyLadyT · 01/03/2014 08:39

DD1 gets night terrors, Indith, though they have diminished in the last year. Awful.

Just one in there! Would have posted earlier but ran out of phone battery and then fell asleep on the sofa when I got home! A bit small for dates but they aren't worried as I had the same thing with the other two and it's my long cycle. However...I did ovulate from both sides (they said this with DD2) so relieved it's not fraternal twins (twins are lovely but I couldn't cope) and I do feel like the Incredible Ovulating Oldie.

What tattoo have you had Kayz? I quite like tattoos I must say but too ancient and wussy to have one.

Anyway, I will be back for that catch up. Zero plans for weekend (bliss) except try to tidy up a bit and maybe take the girls to the cinema.

Nolda · 01/03/2014 08:44

Congratulations, Lady!

ShadyLadyT · 01/03/2014 08:51

Sorry, as you saw I was originally trying to post that late last night!

Arti, the gap would 4 yrs and about a week for DD2 and about 7 wks shy of 6 yrs for DD1...so very similar to you, I hadn't realised. Harmony test is booked for 17 March I think. Did you find out the sex from that? One can.

Indith, I too am so glad you've got a bit of a break. I am sorry about these wretched nights though. Sounds punishing.

Yeah Rubes, where are you? Concerned, will text you later.

Oh and Bean - I can assure you no cheap thrills were gained from the magic wand rollerballing around on my cervix Grin

Honsandrevels · 01/03/2014 08:58

Fantastic news Lady. Very exciting to have another baby on the thread.

Indith Hold on in there. It will get better. Dd2 has now started sleeping through maybe 5 or 6 nights out of 7. We've done nothing differently apart from potty training which you'd think would make it worse. She is 3 so I know that sounds awful but as nothing had ever worked with her sleep wise, I think it is amazing she's suddenly got the idea. I was resigned to her waking and being in our bed for many years to come. Enjoy your hols before the second year.

Hearty Hurray, on your good sleeper!

We've no weekend plans either which is a relief. We might be going to look at potting sheds later - crazy stuff!

JamInMyWellies · 01/03/2014 09:03

Lady I too am loving my 3rd. The older boys adore him. And they are excellent helpers. Plus DS3 loves just lying there watching them hoon around.

Arti great news on the sleep.

Was lovely seeing beans the other day. Her DD3 is delightful such a funny little one. Thoroughly enjoyed being gummed by her. And beans kept me entertained with her stories. Grin

Indith · 01/03/2014 09:18

Glad the scan went well ladyt Smile

tbh I would be perfectly happy for ds2 to still wake at night, I just need him to consistently go to bed of am evening so I can study as he tends to be clingy to me and if I try to leave him with dh and go to the loft he knows and yells. If I'm working he is fine for dh Hmm . dd was rubbish and eventually started sleeping now consistently around 3.5 or 4. I know he will get there when he is ready.

plus I still can't put him down even if sound asleep he wakes up so poor dh feels as though he can't go out add he knows I'll be stuck under a baby all evening. and if he does go out he doesn't drink much add he knows he will be the one settling overnight so it isn't fair on dh. of course I tell him he can go out. Anyway, I want to be able to settle him too.

I'm going to my mum's tomorrow though for 2 nights sans offspring. I shall sleep! and ds2 will be without milk for 2 days. Am quite scared. When I work nights he still gets him bedtime feed before I go and sometimes gets a morning one before he goes to the CM. Hope he is ok.

lovely sunny frosty day here, we are off into town for a potter and to get a few bits and bobs.

Indith · 01/03/2014 09:20

Oh and 3 is great. I loved the slightly bigger age gap toys time, especially the 5 years between ds1 and ds2, their relationship is lovely. ds2 adores hours big brother and ds1 dotes on ds2, they are always cuddling. dd just tries to boss him around and then gets annoyed he doesn't do as he is told Grin .3 years between them.

Mckayz · 01/03/2014 09:21

That's lovely news LadyT. Very jealous of another baby. Would love another one.

I've had a lighthouse tattoo Lady. I love it. It does hurt though.

It's horrible and foggy here. Absolutely freezing

JustRubes · 01/03/2014 09:41

Just heard the news! (slightly late for my liking!Wink) a massive CONGRATULATIONS to our Shady and family!! So exciting! Xx back later I promise... X

TheInvisibleHand · 01/03/2014 10:02

huge congratulations Lady! I know its something you were debating for a while - very excited for you.

sorry you did not manage the meet up yesterday, but am selfishly glad as I'll try to make a rescheduled one. am spending a couple of days a week in Birmingham at the moment, which makes evenings more limited than usual.

Indith - well done on getting through that year!

Heartychoke · 01/03/2014 10:27

Gosh Hons I hadn't registered how bad your DD2's sleep has been. Poor you. But great that she's getting the hang of it now.

Indith, I've read that night terrors are more likely when overtired so if you can get DS2's sleeping sorted that should help. Would you consider a gentle form of sleep training like gradual retreat?

Can I have a world book day related moan? DD1's school always asks the students to dress as their fav literary character on the Friday after Wold Book Day and they always have an assembly with cat walk for parents to watch the kids show off their costumes. The assembly is at 9am for 30mins so working parents have a fighting chance of attending. You can make the costume or buy it, they are v relaxed, and they advertise this from the start of the term so you can prepare. DD2's school never mentioned World Book Day until a letter came home yesterday requiring homemade costumes ONLY by Wednesday. Plus there will be an open classroom for parents to come and see the costumes and read with the kids at 11am on the Wednesday (how nice for working parents). And no generic princesses/pirates etc allowed. DD2 wants to be Olga de Polga who is a bloody guinea pig so I have no clear where to even start and we have a busy weekend and, and, and.... Urgh.

Heartychoke · 01/03/2014 10:29

How does a homemade costume affect the children's ability to get excited over books? It doesn't. It's just a method of torturing parents.

Heartychoke · 01/03/2014 10:30

AND I forgot to add they want us to all bake for a cake sake in Monday. No shop bought cakes (DD1's school are always happy with whatever cake they get).

Heartychoke · 01/03/2014 10:32

Can you tell I have rather extreme PMT? I've been sent to my room by poor DH whose been subjected to rants all morning.

Honsandrevels · 01/03/2014 14:47

That is incredibly annoying and guilt inducing for those unable to dash through a homemade sewing job whilst putting their finishing touches to a victoria sponge.

dd2 is being Debbie from the Mog books as we have a toy mog and a suitable 60s type dress. Dd1 had to dress as a book character last term and was Angelina Ballerina. That's quite easy. Tutu, tail and mouse ears. Thankfully her school isn't doing world book day!
