Sorry...manic at work at the mo! Monday is my last day so looking to transfer as much as poss but lots of restructuring going on.. Big announcements on Wednesday & Thursday so need to dial into conference call on Thursday...to find out if I'll have a job to go back to!

But yes all good...37 wks now, pool being delivered today & u need to pack a bag today just in case & stock up on cheap shower curtains, towels etc for the event!

Ha ha Anna is funny wiggs!

Hope everyone else is well & the distended ones (as a consultant in work do kindly put it Hmm) are keeping well x

americanexpat · 29/09/2014 18:16

Granny - I hope you have your feet up now that you're on mat leave. Grin

reastie - very randomly, did you ever get your coil sorted?

Nothing to report here.

Reastie · 30/09/2014 19:15

granny hope you're enjoying maternity leave (if that's possible with 2 already) and manage to stay bug free. Has the pool arrived? I'd be tempted to test in out in advance for fun Blush

wiggles Grin to 'you do my homework for me'

american well remembered! Well, all tests come back there is nothing wrong with it, so it seems it just disagrees with me. Only problem is it's literally the last thing on our contraceptive list. DH and I spoke last night and he thinks I should have it taken out because of all the pain killers I have to take. But essentially this means no proper DTDing for the foreseeable future (ie when DH gives up on having another one and goes for the snip which will be years Shock ) Confused . I keep thinking maybe I should go back on the pill, but it was a nightmare when I was on it, gave me godawful headaches permanently for months (I ended out having to have acupuncture and reflexology as well as prescription painkillers in hope it would help) and over 6 months to feel like myself again. I swore I would never do that to myself again.... Gah, why can't I be normal with hormones.

Thinking and shedding a tear tonight for baby Zoe and Blizy tonight having just watched Panorama. I'm so pleased to read that you are pregnant, has anyone heard post scan??

I hope you are all well and surviving living with a threenager, I am, just...

Tarlia · 30/09/2014 20:33

Excuse my lovely sentence structure... goes back into the corner and faces the wall

americanexpat · 30/09/2014 23:02

reastie - that's rubbish. If you're absolutely sure you don't want another pregnancy, have you considered sterilisation for yourself? Though maybe you'll reach menopause before you reach the top of the waiting list. Grin

blizy · 30/09/2014 23:22

Waves to tarlia! How are you and your little threenager? I watched the panorama too, I firmly believe Z would be here if I was given a Doppler scan. This pregnancy I am having them every 4 weeks. All is well so far, infact I am being punched/kicked as I type. Can't believe I'm 23 weeks now, where has the time gone?

American, how's things?
Reastie, the coil sounds awful as does the pill for you, it made me a total psycho bitch!

Must try to sleep...

PonyoLovesHam · 06/10/2014 21:27

Hello! I lost you all.

Blizy, 23 weeks! I loved all the kicking (most of the time).

Reastie I want dp to get the snip. I'm fed up of taking the pill, I missed one then had horrible painful bleeding for days then a period a well later. No where near as painful or annoying as it sounds for you though. Dp doesn't seem keen but I think I've been taking contraception for so long now, it's his turn!

Hello tarlia!

I've had a somewhat interesting time with A, she took her older friends leaving pre school to go to school badly (can't remember if I've already posted this) including bed wetting and refusal to do swimming lessons, and stress really. She was anxious and I was worrying about her loads. So much so that people who don't see her regularly noticed and asked if she was ok :( However they're resiliant little things aren't they and she's much better now thankfully.
She seems to have stopped being a terrible threenager in the past few weeks and is lovely to be around, and has done some nice playing on her own Grin and is still an ipad addict haha. Took her to the local massive fair which she loved, and looking forward to bonfire night and Halloween.

School, is a bit of a stress (wonder where A got her anxiety from Wink) we want to move before applying but don't see that happening. So we'll apply here then have to change her school which might mean missing out on all the good ones. Gah!

Sorry for the 'me me me', hope everyone is well.

wigglesrock · 08/10/2014 17:01

Just a quick Bonjour (see what I did there?) Smile

Blizy, Grannyapple and Princess - hope all is ticking or kicking along nicely. Have you had a go in the pool yet Grannyapple?

Anya is an absolute sketch, Ponyo. I don't know how you keep a straight face especially with her bold arms defying her brain and pouring maple syrup. I think that's been my fave FB post ever! How's the house selling going?

I think Mr W is going to jump on the snipped bandwagon. Tis the Catholic contraception of choice Smile, you only sin once with the actual snipping, if there's a loophole we can find it!

Right off to eat some more yummy food and partake of some alcohol.

Reastie · 08/10/2014 19:15

Wiggles hope you're enjoying the delights of Paris ( Envy ). Grin at your snip loophole comment.

Ponyo Alice is taking a while to settle back to nursery too. She's got the same class but they've moved to another room and there are some new children so the group is bigger (last year sometimes there were only 3 or 4 children some mornings whereas now there's usually around 15). She doesn't like the boys and gets quite upset by their rough antics (she's a very delicate petal Wink ). We had a tough week last week when she refused to go in and got in a real state about it, so we're having to stay a little with her when we take her until she's settled and playing with her friends. We've stopped her swimming lessons as they made her anxious and she didn't like the other children splashing her.

Blizy hope all is going well, and granny counting down the days yet? In your picture you look so small with a ball up your top! Unlike me who just looked elephant like all over.

Hello Tarlia

American I just wish there was a male pill, it's not fair so much birth control is down to us Sad . Need to make appointment to take coil out but putting it off.....

OP posts:
Grannyapple · 09/10/2014 20:45

Ah thank you ladies! Ha hareastie you're not the first to say that to me but I feel huge! 39 wks today so on the countdown now! Need this baby to come soon as sis is down fir a week from Sunday for on call sitting duties Smile

wiggs v jealous of your child free escape to Paris...and yes we had a test run of the pool on Sunday...& of course Nate wanted to come in!

blizy & princess hope your both well?

Hopefully next time I'm on here, bubba will have arrived!

Grannyapple · 10/10/2014 22:55

Hi ladies..no baby news yet!

But just found out that a lady from the July 2013 thread when I had Amelia passed away today..3 young beautiful children...just so sad...

blizy I remember you mentioning woolly hugs on here previously.. I wanted to ask about the woolly hugs section on here...how does it work?

Her partner had been updating us via the fb group & we had all done a whip & sent a care package for food gift vouchers, worry dolls & toys for her kids as well as bits & pieces for her & her partner...we collected over £300. Is crazy...you get to "know" people on these groups/forums & disclose more on here than you would face to face with friends/family in real life...

Been out tonight catching up with a work colleague & found out when I came home the sad news...had a wee cry...I remember losing my folks as a late teenager but can't imagine what a 10 yr old & younger must be going through...

blizy · 10/10/2014 23:32

Oh granny, that is awful poor
Family. Such a lovely thing to do with the collection. I'm not quite sure how people are "nominated" for a wooly hug, it's best contact ratherbeonthepiste or knottylocks, they both organise wooly hugs.
I would defo crochet a square or two for the blanket. The angels and conception thread I am on made a blanket for one of our ladies after her second stillbirth, we arranged it ourselves as the wooly hugs team were too busy (This is what made me learn crochet).

I hope baby makes an appearance soon. Sorry for the waffling and mistakes in my post, I'm just back from seeing still gam and abso knackered!

wigglesrock · 14/10/2014 11:23

Granny - that's terribly sad xx

I hope the Grannyapple house isn't suffering the effects of As foot, hand and mouth too much and that you get a chance to get into the pool soon Smile

Ponyo - I saw you on the Walking Dead thread - I have Fox but we also have an app called Showbox that shows WD and lots of other shows/films. It's only for Android, so we download it onto the Kindle Fire then we can watch it on the "big" TV.

All fine here, apart from the constant requests for egg boxes (Anna) and milk cartons (Liv) for school. Apparently they're all Halloween related!!

Ledkr · 17/10/2014 10:49

Hello all!!!
So sorry about the silence.
blizy so glad you are getting along so well! I used to wish so hard for you to be pg again it's so exciting. I had a Doppler with dilly and used it loads, they get criticism but I think If you are shown how to use them they are a godsend.
My sister and my dil are due in November so we are equally excited and worried at the moment, you can't help it can you?
How was Paris wiggs we were supposed to be away this weekend but so much has gone on here in the last few weeks (older kids stuff) that I don't even feel like it now. We may have a night away tomorrow but the hotels are so expensive I begrudge it particularly as it's so close to Xmas, might put it off until next year.
It was my birthday yesterday, I moved into my late forties Hmm which I'm not happy about! did informed me that "you will be really old when dilly is at school" yesterday, the beeeatch.
I had lots of lovely presents though, boots vouchers, money, perfume,DVDs CDs and best of all a massive Egyptian cotton bath towel as I keep having a go at anyone who uses MY TOWEL. I do like a good towel.
Hope everyone is good.

Reastie · 18/10/2014 21:01

Hello

Ledkr long time no see. How's DS with the kidney probs doing btw? Happy Belated Birthday, sounds like you had some lovely presents. I Grin the comment about 'my towel'.

Blizy I can't work out if your pg is going insanely slowly or sneakily quickly. Hope you're well. Do you have half term at the end of October like here in England? If so hope you get a break and relax.

Granny have you got that pool pumped up and on standby? Wink . That's so sad about your mn friend . I've had 2 people I knew in school die in the last couple of years and it really unsettled me. The poor children and family she left behind.

Ponyo we watch walking dead on channel 5 so we've only just finished the last series and will probably have to wait a year to get the next one, but I do like it. I had a big thing for Rick in it but last season he suddenly looked quite old and a bit ropey [fair weather]

Alice went to an amazing birthday party today. Honestly, they never had ones like that when I was little! They had a frozen bouncy castle and Elsa and Anna actually came to play games/do activities with the children. There was Anna painting all the girls' nails and Elsa doing balloon flowers for everyone and then Olaf came (well, someone dressed up obviously ) to play games and they had a snow machine and bubble machine (can you tell I'm a little giddy from excitement from it all still Blush ). Honestly, I can't even imagine how much it cost! The children loved it and Alice actually joined in some party games on her own for the first time at a party although tbh she wasn't fussed about much other than the bouncy castle, so I know what will make her happy Grin

Oh, and keep meaning to ask, has anyone been to any school open mornings/tours yet? How's that all going? We've got 2 lined up this week.

Ledkr · 19/10/2014 07:58

He's on dyalisis now reastie Sad but is bearing up well and dh is being tested as a potential donor.
Thanks for asking.
I don't look at a hops cos we live in a village with pretty much the top performing infants juniors and seniors in it so no worries there.
The houses sell in seconds tho and people go to very desperate measures to get places!!

Ledkr · 19/10/2014 07:59

Schools not hops Hmm

blizy · 19/10/2014 18:15

Reastie, I think it has gone past very quickly so far (25 weeks now)! The birthday party sounds fab, glad Alice had such a good time. Our half term was last week, back to the grind stone tomorrow. Only around 9 weeks until mat leave (can't come quick enough).

Ledkr, thanks for the kind words. I hope dh is a match for your son. I just couldn't buy a Doppler, I fear it would be attached to me 24/7. My boy is such wriggler and is pretty much always kicking which is very reassuring.

Granny how are you doing?

I had a consultant appointment last Monday and all is well, I have been given the green light for an elcs, which will happen at 38/39 weeks. I'm so relieved about it as the thought of being induced at 38 weeks filled me with utter fear. So any advice about the elcs will greatly received.

Ledkr · 20/10/2014 08:12

Well I've had 4, blizy. My tips are.
Take arnica for few weeks before, this made a remarkable difference.
Big pants for after.
Peppermint tea for the wind.
Ensure you take your pain meds regularly (I found I had to nag for it) and make sure you are fully topped up before trying to move and get used to moving your legs around first and tilt your pelvis gently all before getting out of bed.
Don't leave hospital too early.
Three if mine were emergency but dillys elective and was amazing. I even had her for skin to skin while they stitched me up.
A boy? Oh how exciting!

PonyoLovesHam · 20/10/2014 14:30

Hello everyone, just had a catch up, thanks for the walking dead advice wiggles, I'll look into it!

Ledkr that's really good of your dh, I also hope he's a match for your son.

Blizy some sound advice from ledkr there! Not long til your mat leave now... Wink

I've come on for a big moan as our house hunting is getting me down, we've sold ours (woo!) but not having any luck finding somewhere. Viewed a lovely house this weekend, got all excited and started planning how we'd do it up etc etc, ready to put in an offer, and found out someone put in an offer the afternoon of the day we viewed it which has been accepted. And we can't even beat their offer. Confused It's so bloody time consuming and stressy at the moment, I've been waking up on the night then unable to get back to sleep worrying about all this house moving business.
Which means A will prob end up going to a crap school here or if we move, a crap school there because we'll have missed out on the good ones. (That's actually me being a bit dramatic, the schools aren't shit just a bit rough Grin)
I'm also worried out buyer will pull out because we're taking so long. Aaagh!
And if dp's mother says "everything happens for a reason" again... AngryAngryAngry No it doesn't! That's just what people tell themselves to feel smug about their own good luck!

I'm a bit pissed off today GrinWink so I hope people are having more chilled out days than me. On the plus side A is doing well and is back to her cheery self, is anyone else amazed at how much they learn and can take in and remember?! Scary really!

americanexpat · 21/10/2014 21:18

Ponyo - congrats on selling the house, I was just wondering if you'd sold it yet a few days ago. Good luck with house hunting, hope you find something quickly.

Nothing much to report here. DH and I have been traveling loads for work and this is the only week in October we're both home. Hmm I'm away again next week then refusing all travel for the rest of the year.

wigglesrock · 21/10/2014 21:52

Ponyo - I found house selling/buying so stressful - never again Smile Well done on selling yours! I'll see your mils comments and raise you with "your miss is sometimes your maker" wtf and "what's meant for you won't go past you" well mil actually it did - you muppet - and breathe Smile

Glad A is back to her usual self.

Olivia is 7 next week - again I use the phrase wtf! She is having a party with her friends in a adventure play thing this Saturday. She's never had a class party before, she's very excited, me slightly less so Smile. It's party bag hell here!

Hope everyone and bumps are doing well - Grannyapple hope yours is on the move soon x

Ledkr · 21/10/2014 22:13

wiggs is your dh in the police pension? Dh is thinking of stopping it and buying a house Instead.
Well be half dead by the time we retire and you can't tell if you will be around long to benefit.
I wondered if you had discussed it at all. Many are pulling out here.
