Austerity dictates the taxman should know. We are all in this together after all. Wink

Glad to hear of issues being resolved.

I think it's normal to feel v unsettled and panicky when they enter childcare. Every time J had a bad night after nursery for ages I was convinced it was because they'd been force feeding him dairy Blush. it took a few chats with the staff to get it into my paranoid head that they only fed him what I provided and that they genuinely care for the little chap.

flouncymcflouncerson · 08/01/2014 01:28

Popping in to mark place. Will hopefully be back later. I've read but not taken much in. Had quite a day. Seen surgeon for post op check. I need further surgery.

All I can remember to say is ouch to jims Sounds like you e done in your olecranon. Hopefully fracture clinic agree no cast needed as cast and baby is a nightmare!

Also to lily and isles Malta is lovely. I've been many moons ago, circa 2003/4 as I worked there for 4 weeks. It really is beautiful and I imagine diving would be spectacular in the blue lagoon or out by Gozo.

That's all I can remember but it's late or early! Better go get Js bag ready for nursery and Es lunch made,

wellieboots · 08/01/2014 01:35

Oh flouncy that is crap that you will need more surgery!
isles I have read your cm comments on FB, I feel for you my lovely, DD starts with a cm (we call it family day care, but basically the same thing) in three weeks, I am absolutely cacking myself! She will be fine, the lady is lovely, has been doing it for 27 years or something, and in our case it's only for 2 days! I would be uncomfortable with a dog (but then we don't have one and A alternates between laughing and freaking out when presented with friends' dogs so I have no idea how she'd react) and certainly here any adults in the household would have been checked out. But go with your gut - you are M's mum and you know what is best for her. Sorry this has happened so early on.

Lily311 · 08/01/2014 04:45

Thanks for the holiday tips. Need to do research really. We are going to krakow in May en route to visit Leo's resting place but I don't count that as a holiday. I love Krakow, been many times.

ValiumQueen · 08/01/2014 06:44

Flouncy sorry about the need for further surgery. Will you go back to work first or will you need to stay off indefinitely? You knew this would be the case though didn't you? I remember you saying something wasn't right still.

Sophiathestormfairy · 08/01/2014 07:22

Morning all.

Thanks for asking chasing and kyz

Tuesday is my boys in nursery day so I am able to get out of the kitchen/family room/playroom enclosure and do stuff easily in the rest if the house.

I cleaned and tidied like a whirlwind;

a touch of ironing and watched 7:39 which I really enjoyed,

Off on Milly Molly Mandy errands;

I purchased DH a voucher for a golf lesson on the Royal County Down golf course, which is so lovely makes me muse on taking it up myself,

new cotbed sheets (which I am sadly really pleased about they are lovely ones)

Os first Wellies.

Anyway.

Then it was DS1s preschool booster. Those of you have have seen fb will have seen the trauma that caused.

So wine was allowed even though it was Tuesday and DHs uncle came round so we just sat at our lovely big round chatting table till it was time to watch 7:39 again.

A really lovely day despite the small jab glitch at the end of the afternoon.

I did quick skim at bedtime and have mused on Isles issue, and put my comment on fb. I will have to properly catch up this morning whilst I am back in the mummy enclosure.

Thechick · 08/01/2014 07:32

Hello all
Haven't read yet, I hope everyone is well.
I have a couple of questions. H is having his milk in the morning and evening in a sippy cup and drinks it really quickly. It takes him like 90 seconds to drink it about 7 oz, and very occasionally vomits it up. Should I or dh mostly, be burping him. He does try to slow him down by stopping feeding but it seems too quick. Dh does 99% of the feeds now I've stopped bf and I do bath time. We swapped.

Also those that breastfed, how long did it take for your boobs to settle down back to a normal size when you stopped and was it the one you were pre pregnancy.

Oh, I have a non walker or talker He says thank you, kind of. Someone asked before if they had the oldest non walker. I think I take that trophy. H was born 7th Oct 6 weeks early.

ChasingDaisy · 08/01/2014 08:16

Hey Sophia

I also enjoyed 7:39. First programme I have actually concentrated on for a while.

We have O's MMR today. Dreading it.Sad

Sophiathestormfairy · 08/01/2014 08:32

Ps. The voucher is for his birthday, so shhhhhh no telling!

Don't worry about the MMR chasing he will cry a little but will soon come round. Just don't look!

O can drink his milk quick too chick I don't burp him anymore one will come up on it's own if required! I am not entirely sure if burping works as effectively once they are bigger.

PetiteRaleuse · 08/01/2014 09:24

Ugh. Stressful morning. Had an appointment which I was dreading for the last month but it is over now.

DH has to rake the girls to nursery which upset LO. She hates it when her morning routine is messed up.

Sophiathestormfairy · 08/01/2014 09:28

And?............

Jims · 08/01/2014 09:45

Aw sorry you need more surgery flouncy, that is rubbish. A&e thought poss small fracture to my radial head (i think), dr google says no cast, so hoping the fracture clinic agree!

Suspect i won't be typing much today, broadband out of action according to virgin. Boo. I'm guessing flood related as the thames has burst its banks here in reading. Means i'll have to wait for second half of 07:39 too. No spoilers allowed...!

PetiteRaleuse · 08/01/2014 10:14

Not much to report soph am ok for now but have to take some more appointments very soon so they can send a mediator in. Which should be interesting.

YellowWellies · 08/01/2014 10:15

Sigh a teary post Christmas nursery drop off. I said to his keyworker if he's struggling to settle to give me a call and I'll pick him up as I'm thinking he might need a gradual reintroduction after having a fortnight off. On the plus side he slept through - the power of Grandma's magical sleeping house seems to have followed us home. Sadly I got up at 4.30 convinced he was playing on the bedroom floor with BP's F and Sophia's O and ran around in a half-asleep panic as the stair gate was open. He was, of course, asleep in his cot. I can be such a weapon!!!! Smile.

Chick J and I will race you and H for that title Grin

Flouncy boo to more surgery Sad

PR hope you're ok xxxxx

PetiteRaleuse · 08/01/2014 10:18

flouncy sorry about moresurgery but since you described how you felt since the last one it's not a huge surprise. Bloody stressful for you though Flowers

Just walked the dog. Someone down our way has got a little staffie pup and we ended up Walking down the same muddy and narrow path together which led to much entanglement of leads and merriment all around. Hmm :o

V v v cute dog though.

PetiteRaleuse · 08/01/2014 10:19

I'm fine, don't worry. It was good. The Dr was v reasonable and only a little bit skeptical.

GTbaby · 08/01/2014 10:46

Awww flouncy! That's shit. Will it cross into holiday plans?

Since first steps 2 weeks ago we have had a few more but no proper walking yet.

Isle hope you get a decent reply from cm.

A slept for 12-6. Not sure if I'm happy or not. A bit Sad ff worked. But it's only day 1. Maybe a fluke

YellowWellies · 08/01/2014 10:55

Grrrr 'This Morning' is doing my head in. A woman after a series of miscarriages and then PND after a traumatic birth has committed suicide and her traumatised DH is on the programme. This Morning's sensational reporting has the headline that breast feeding made her commit suicide (she struggled to latch the baby on as she was morbidly obese and couldn't hold the baby to her breast comfortably). The chat is so biased - 'the baby lost 10% of her birth weight - proof that BF just doesn't work'. There is no one on to counter the argument. I'm Shock.

wellieboots · 08/01/2014 11:05

yw is that the same story as was in the Daily Fail this week? Joe somebody? It's a tragic story of untreated pnd (scares the shit out of me to be honest given the issues I had in trying to get medical help for mine) and has NOTHING to do with bf. Yes if she had difficulties bf and lots of pressure and no support, of course that isn't going to help, but it wouldn't make the poor girl go and lie under a train. Such a sad story :( but you're quite right, it sounds like This Morning (and the DM before them) are making this all about bf.

YellowWellies · 08/01/2014 11:26

Wellie yep that's the one. A desperately sad story. I guess the headline 'Depression made my wife commit suicide' wouldn't be so juicy. It seems that she got lots of support but due to her size (which seems to have been a side effect of her previous PND) couldn't latch the baby on. To me the 'bad guy' here isn't BF but PND and possibly obesity but to anyone watching who just heard a snippet of that headline they'd be left thinking crumbs I'm not trying BF it makes you depressed and suicidal (when actually it's one of the best protections against PND!) - so irresponsible. I'm guessing today's editor hasn't BF Angry.

Right today I am clicking an inordinate sum of money away to the taxman. Ah well best get it in early so I don't get fined. The fact that the tax owed is less than I received back in Mat Allowance is making it slightly sweeter Smile.

StormyIsles · 08/01/2014 11:27

I stopped watching this morning when I was working from home, it made me far too angry AngryBlush. Homes under the hammer usually with the soundtrack of dp ranting about their stupidityand heir hunters were much more up my street.

StormyIsles · 08/01/2014 11:28

Bugger yw, I have to do my tax return this weekend Envy

Very irresponsible of This Morning.

Isles I love heir hunters. I used to watch it every morning when I was on mat leave.

MsJupiterJones · 08/01/2014 12:01

That's really shit of TM. My sister's at home struggling to get to grips with bf and I hope she's not watching.
