Moving country didn't work for me :(.

We are waiting for delivery today and I'm going to the theatre tonight with my sister. Have a babysitter coming as my sis is dropping her 3 kids to my mum's for overnight.

Lily311 · 10/01/2014 06:35

And happy birthday to stunt ds1!

Sophiathestormfairy · 10/01/2014 06:53

I'm sorry flouncy it must be very difficult. ((Hugs))

ChasingDaisy · 10/01/2014 07:09

7 wake ups. Fecking jabs Sad

PetiteRaleuse · 10/01/2014 07:31

flouncy I see. I didn't think about consent. We do have consent here but it is very wideranging, basically authorising doctors to take any action they think necessary to save or improve the life of the patient.

PetiteRaleuse · 10/01/2014 07:32

Arse chasing that's bad :(

Tonight will be better.

ditsygal · 10/01/2014 08:18

That sounds like a tough night chasing Brew

I live in the Midlands, on the edge of Lincolnshire/Nottinghamshire. Is anyone from the quiche around here?

flouncy Really sorry to hear your problems. hugs

Sophiathestormfairy · 10/01/2014 08:20

Oh no chasing . Might not be the jabs, maybe a coincidence. Cuddles from the fairy household to the chasing household.

Today we are trying a new toddler group. I am not really enjoying the one I have been going to. I have really tried and I have tried talking to people but I'm not feeling the love for it. The boys enjoy it, but they enjoy any toddler group. This week there was a small incident which made up my mind. DS1 was haring around on a tricycle. I asked him to keep away from the area with the babies and he ignored me. So I gave him a warning and said he would be in time out if he did it again, one of the toddler group workers said to me " that won't work" I might have been being unreasonable but a.) is my child I know how to discipline him and b) how dare you try and belittle anyone's attempt at discipline.

He did it again

I put him in time out

He didn't do it again.

Point proved.

Witch.

So. We are venturing down the road to the town with the favoured school in it to try another one. I will treat us to lunch at Ds1s favourite cafe. This afternoon, I think will be spent curled up in the sofa with a children's film. Feeling the pmt. Today.

Lily311 · 10/01/2014 08:28

I have cold sore and cracked heel. What can I try? Used Zovirax on cold sore and body butter on heel. Any good remedies?

Sophiathestormfairy · 10/01/2014 08:28

Obviously I didn't say that to her. I smiled sweetly and carried on. I allow my real self in inner bitch to come out on here!

Sophiathestormfairy · 10/01/2014 08:36

My heels are cracked, I use body butter, but tbh is not really working.

Lily311 · 10/01/2014 08:37

I used to use Vaseline but I can't find it here. Or anything similar.

ditsygal · 10/01/2014 09:22

I find the only thing that works for cracked heels is using a ped egg to take of all the dry skin and then moisturise. And try to stay on top of it so that your heels don't get a chance to crack then.

Elizadoesdolittle · 10/01/2014 09:35

pr woop. Maidstone is about 30 mins from me so an easy meet. There's quite a nice farm in Maidstone called kent life and a country park next to it. I know she doesn't post on here now but desperatehouse21 (think that was her user name) is kent based too so we can use fb to try and organise something. Although I know you won't want to spend your whole holidays doing quiche meets.

flouncy my friend did a lot of investigation into her surgery as doesn't cope well with being cut open (horrible recovery from c section) so she found a surgeon who did it via key whole surgery which was a lot less invasive. She recovered very quickly physically (emotionally not so good) but could that be an option for you?

Jims · 10/01/2014 10:18

Yw electricals usually have a 1 yr guarantee. They don't normally ask about why it has stopped working. I handily got a new medela swing at around 9 months with ds1, shortly before i quit bf. It was purely for if i had a second. And i'm currently in a long running saga with a buggy from mothercare. Can't fault their customer service ( yet) but the buggy i wouldn't recommend whatsoever.

Just had shortest appointment ever in the fracture clinic. On the plus side, i'm only limited by pain from doing anything. And he thought it would be 2-3 weeks before that clears up. But that's getting off fairly easily i think Grin

applepieinthesky · 10/01/2014 10:27

I'm marrying my first love. We have both changed quite a bit since we first got together but thankfully we have grown closer because of all we have been through, not apart. I hear a lot about couples being together for ten years plus then getting married and quickly divorcing. I read that one theory is there have been issues in the relationship for some time and they are getting married to try and fix their problems and bring them closer. A bit like when people have babies to try to put right problems they are having. Never a good idea.

flouncy sorry to hear about the surgery.

sebsmummy I thought they recommended tests after six months of trying to conceive if over 35? Is it worth seeing a different GP maybe? Sorry you are struggling, I hope it happens for you soon.

StormyIsles · 10/01/2014 11:24

Woohoo my old flatmate who I have always been a bit in love with Blush has just invited me and m to visit and search for the northern lights with him next winter in Norway. About 3/4 years ago when we lived together we set off into deepest darkest aberdeen in my battered old car. Drove for about 2.5hours up to the top of a huge hill in the middle of nowhere and watched them together for ages. Smile What was even more miraculous was the fact my ancient car made it back as neither of us had a charged mobile. I felt really nostalgic remembering this last night (and gutted m slept through as it was a meant to be a good night for seeing them) so can't wait to go and visit him!!

StormyIsles · 10/01/2014 11:25

I am really sorry to hear about your surgery woes flouncy ~ you've not had much luck, have you? Thanks

PetiteRaleuse · 10/01/2014 11:53

I love my new shrink.

Sophiathestormfairy · 10/01/2014 12:22

I love my new toddler group.

GTbaby · 10/01/2014 13:43

Elizabeth Arden 8hour cream is similar to Vaseline. Expensive. 16£ a tube last time I bought some.

YellowWellies · 10/01/2014 13:51

Isles it's meant to be a good night tonight too!

Apple I think you're spot on if couples are not right before marriage a wedding only makes things worse. I know too many tumultuous couples who blindly hope it'll fix their problems but it just adds other pressures.

Soph, PR hurrah!

Eliza gutted to miss a Kent meet. DH's family are from a village called Headcorn close to Maidstone and we were there over NY.

Chasing boo on jags sleep crappiness - how is he during the day?

Grandma's magic sleepy dust is still with us. He slept thru til 6am then had a feed then snoozed on until 9.20! Making us late for playgroup. I'm feeling v benevolent and well rested. Tempted to offer DH both sleep ins this weekend as he gets up at 6.30 every day to go out to work for us and it must be a shock after Christmas.

YellowWellies · 10/01/2014 13:54

Lily pm me your address happy to send some vaseline or scholl cracked heel balm (which I swear by but now you mention it feels like expensively packaged Vaseline!). I hate winter feet. Am off to Centre PARC's at the end of the month and think I'm going to treat myself to a pedicure at the spa as my feet are horrid and rough. They're probably rough enough to ladder tights!!!! Wink

ChasingDaisy · 10/01/2014 13:57

He's not too bad thanks YW. A bit of a fever which I'm treating with Calpol and ibuprofen. He is napping at the moment. I think last night was compounded by teething pain and hunger as he didn't eat any dinner. I'm making his failsafe tea tonight (stir fry) so hopefully tonight will be a better night. And if not, he is with XP on Saturday night Grin

Zamboni · 10/01/2014 14:53

Stirfry, yummy chasing

Grin good news Sophia and PR

apple that's really lovely. I suppose I did too. Not been in love before DH.

jims that's good their customer service is doing ok - I thought they had a very bad reputation on that front. Will the saga get resolved or are you stuck with the buggy?

ditsy I am in the SW but in the midlands (Rutland and Nottingham) from time to time. Horsey is close to Derby I think. There may be others. I'd be up for a coordinated meet.

On the subject of which, yes evil and BP, definitely up for another SW meet. Anyone else local? Best days are weekends or if you fancied grown up meal without babies, we could go out for dinner on a Tuesday, Friday or Saturday?!

Pidj and I are going to try and coordinate on my next trip past her way. How has the change of nappy type worked out? Glad music class went well Smile

PR Devon or Dorset looking like the most likely contenders. I'd be keen.

It would be fab if we could one day have a big quiche get together?!

flouncy rubbish luck.

pennie is there a reason for the loss - is all ok?

stunt how was DS1's birthday in the end.?

BP rubbish about DH not getting the day off. Good luck sorting it with his boss - do you think it will work out?

I am working from home today as DD has a mild rash. She is totally fine but nursery are, quite rightly, cautious about rashes so I kept her home. It's odd to be home with just her and not have S bashing the crap out of my pots and pans! We are on viewing no 2 of Toy Story...
