pr make it a weekend and I'll gladly trek down to Gretna. Grin

ValiumQueen · 09/01/2014 21:29

I am here Zamboni Smile Well, not really here as I have not caught up properly at all, just a quick skim.

Spending spare moments that are few and far between reading about clinical audit, quality improvement, NICE guidelines etc. exciting stuff Brew

I have a student at work which makes life so much harder, but I am using her project as an excuse to pilot one of my ideas, so it is actually really good timing.

As you can see, clearly work focused so I will fuck off now and let you get back to talking about first words, Chasings love life, holidays and meet-ups. BTW count me in at Hotel Sophia. I suggested to DH we moved to NI pretty much based on your life Grin

Evilwater · 09/01/2014 21:31

if any of you are heading to the deep southwest, I'd love to see you.

ValiumQueen · 09/01/2014 21:33

And Chasing, coil and condoms please. You want to be protecting yourself from unwanted pregnancy and STDs so best be on the safe side although as your mother I really want to say do not let anyone in your pants until you are married

Hello! I've just had to catch up on about 6 pages!

It seems there has been talk of weights and contraception mostly.

I'm almost 5ft8 and weigh 15st4 I think at last weigh in. This puts me at a 16 which is pretty good considering I was almost a 22 prior to having J. I had to slim down to be prescribed clomid as my BMI had to be lower to be allowed it. I then didn't really out on weight while pregnant and lost after having J. I then went up to 15.2 and lost 1stone via SW but got lazy when I got my surgery date through and have piled it on. I've joined they gym this week but I forgot to check what I'm allowed to do now so will need to wait until I see physio next week to sake her advice. I go to Mexico on about 7 weeks and I wish I'd known I was going as I would have put more effort into the losing weight!!!! Whoever mentioned next high waist jeans I am in full agreement. I actually got a pair for £14 in the VIP slot of the sale!! That's the 45£ shape lifting ones, I normally stick to the £26 and sometimes they have one pair that are £22, usually only one colour in the £22 ones.

WRT to contraception, I used to be on the pill before have in DD then was BF and then trying for no 2 for more than 18 months so didn't use anything. Had J and was prescribed the mini pill while I was BF but ended up stopping it and just using condoms which was the plan until DH had the snip. However it seems I will be losing my womb within the next 6 months so him getting the snip now would be a bit daft. I was supposed to wait 12 weeks to have sex after the op....but we had a kid free afternoon and I couldn't resist DH so condoms it was! I was terrified but all was well Blush

Em.....J now has ten teeth. No walking but will stand for a teeny while himself. Only recognisable word is mum.

flouncymcflouncerson · 09/01/2014 21:58

Strikeout fail!

And hello vq!

Sophiathestormfairy · 09/01/2014 21:59

Grin you lot always cheer a pmt moment up!

PetiteRaleuse · 09/01/2014 22:00

flouncy they are talking about a hysterectomy? I had misunderstood. Despite you not wanting any more kids it must be hard to get your head round. I think there are support threads on here for that and I have been told recovery is also 6-8 weeks, like what you've already had.

Yes though, the shape lifting ones. I love mine. Wearing them right now though covered in mud as the bastard dog got over excited meeting a bitch at the vets this morning

Hmm
PetiteRaleuse · 09/01/2014 22:00

PMT here too. Is it quiche period synchro again?

StuntNun · 09/01/2014 22:04

I have started a thread in Chat if anyone wants to join in the bun fight. I'm seriously depressed after a difficult week. I don't think it helps that I'm waiting for the results of my thyroid tests.

Anyone know if we're likely to get a replacement video monitor? - it's died after only nine months. Admittedly Jonas pulled it off the shelf Blush normally I'd suck it up and accept we'd have to buy a second.... but we got it from evil bad boy Mr Tesco and my morals go out the window when dealing with them

BigPigLittlePig · 09/01/2014 22:09

Arse bugger balls, dh has just announced he can't have he day off work, right after I've booked the hotel Angry. Shall have to try and tweak his bosses arm without dh realising,

StuntNun · 09/01/2014 22:23

Do you still need one YW? Ours broke in November so we're just using a sound-only one now.

pr yes hysterectomy. My uterus has prolapsed too but was not fixed at the same time as bladder. I was unaware until the morning after surgery as my bladder was so bad I hadn't realised about the uterus. Surgeon thinks it's best to remove rather than repair due to my age that it's happened, to avoid the use of mesh and also due to my hypermobility which likely contributed. I am v annoyed it wasn't done at the same time :(

yw monitor should have come with a 1 yr guarantee so yep get complaining!

YellowWellies · 09/01/2014 22:34

Stunt we don't really need it for J but it would save us forking out another £120 when we have number two! I love that monitor - you could shush thru the microphone and it would soothe him rather than freak him out. Will call them tomorrow.

Elizadoesdolittle · 09/01/2014 22:53

Sorry flouncy. How shit that they didn't do it all at once. My friend has just had a hysterectomy. She recovered physically quicker than she expected but obviously it does take it's toll. Hugs.

bplp Arsewipes. Hope you get it sorted.

Just watching the second part of 7:39. How much of a dick head is his boss.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/01/2014 22:58

yw use and abuse tesco customer care.

flouncy they must have known that before now. You did. Can you claim for something? I'm not litigious (believe it or not) but shouldn't they have worked it all out sooner? Because you did a few days post op iirc.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/01/2014 22:59

Tesco are utter twats yw

PurplePidjin · 09/01/2014 23:29

I'm on the eastern edge of the sw, a small county away from zamboni Wink unfortunately excessive skintness puts anything over an hour away Dorchester out of the picture so might need to sit this one out Sad dp and i harbour an ambition to get to Scotland one day though, it's the only country in the British Isles i haven't been to Shock

Welcome to the quiche varya have a Brew with us :)

Music class was ace, although i need more material. I made nearly £20 and had 9 dc. Had to scrounge a despicable off another mum as R pooed halfway through and as I'd changed him into a hemp fitted just before we left i thought it'd be ok (venue 5 minutes walk from home). He did the same halfway through rhyme time at the library this afternoon too so he's going into fiddly annoying prefolds tomorrow and getting changed 2 hourly - he's teething molars and got nasty nappy rash so I'm airing his bum out with wool longies instead of nice easy plastic AIOs and metanium Hmm

Elizadoesdolittle · 09/01/2014 23:38

pp I don't know what you're babbling about but I do care Smile The long and short of it is R poos. A lot.

I'll look out with interest for locations of quiche meets. I don't live near anyone but am always up for a bit of travelling, as long as it fits in with DD1's nursery, house moving etc. I have a friend who lives near inverness who we've stayed with before. Sure she'd love us to visit again. I've been to Edinburgh but spent most of the time there drunk so would love to explore it sober. I drove from Nairn to loch ness with DD1 before E was born. Not far I know but I was pretty impressed with just the 2 of us on a little road trip. I saw scenery not dissimilar to NZ. Beautiful. Never been to NI so that would be one to tick off the list (although DH would be quite suspicious as I vowed to never go back to Ireland long story but NI is different, right!).

PetiteRaleuse · 09/01/2014 23:46

I'll be doing an overnight in Kent eliza near Maidstone.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/01/2014 23:57

Hemp? pidj Interested.

I have a sibling in Dorset. Or Devon. Something beginning with D that is in the south west. We'll stop by that direction on the way oop north or back dahn sarf this time if she can't make it oop north to see her nieces.

No idea where she is. But deffo south west beginning with D.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/01/2014 23:59

Oh. Hemp nappies. Less interested :o

flouncymcflouncerson · 10/01/2014 01:17

pr he knew when I was in surgery that it had prolapsed hence him telling me following morning. I'm not entirely sure he expected it to be so bad. Obviously surgery is down supine and gravity has an effect on standing. He said he wouldn't have done it all in one surgery as it would have been too much. He said that the fallen bladder may have been holding it up and with that in correct place it's fallen down further. I suppose the issue is he would have just stitched it up as he wouldn't have had my consent for hysterectomy. It's odd, and a support group I'm on are American and cannot understand it. His response seemed when I spoke to him about it questioning it now. Again I'm not sure if the hypermobilty is a further reason not to have too much done. I'm on phone so type much more.
