Thanks for the reassurances, all :)

We're not too worried. No point until we know what's what.

MrsVDB · 13/03/2014 10:15

toby. Fx all is ok, I'm sure it is :)

I was supposed to be going to rhyme time this morning but again Henry has been up every hour since 3 and is only just dozing off on my arm. I need a bath which he needs to be asleep for. 1st session is in 15 minutes and second one at 11.30 so not sure I'm going to make it

enormouse · 13/03/2014 10:46

Toby fx crossed for you. I had a heart murmur when I was younger but I grew out of it like fryings Ds.

After spending all night yelling, Cal is asleep on my arm. I feel like death, my skin is dry and my eyes are sore and Ds1 has got his v tech cars out. I admire you for wanting to go to rhyme time MrsV. Every noise feels like it's going through me.

Love the new name felix!

FelixFelix · 13/03/2014 11:42

Toby, everyone else's experiences sound promising. Fx it's nothing too serious.

MrsV and Enormouse, I feel you! Sylvie keeps waking up constantly through the night as she's struggling to poo even though I'm giving her the lactulose stuff. Her poos are soft/runny when she finally passes them but it can be hours of crying/straining before that happens. She's still doing it right now Sad I dunno what else I can do to help. I end up staying awake for hours trying to keep her quiet as I'm worried about waking up DP and the neighbours.

MrsV is rhyme time like a singing/story thing? They do a similar thing near me but I wasn't sure if Sylvie is too young to go yet. I think it would be good to get out of the house though. Does Henry seem to enjoy it?

I don't know if it's because I've been really tired recently but I'm starting to feel a bit down. The only time we get out of the house is the weekends when DP is off work and I'm struggling to get out and do stuff in the week. I'm feeling guilty as the weather has been lovely and we have just been sat on the settee watching telly Hmm I should be out and about going for walks etc. but it seems like by the time I've made it downstairs then sorted out bottles/had breakfast it's early afternoon then it takes so long to get myself looking presentable in between looking after Sylvie, it's too late to do anything really. I live in a bit of a rough area a few miles out from the city centre and there's literally nowhere to go around here. No parks to walk to or anything. I'm too anxious to brave getting the bus anywhere either. Also DP has another uni deadline next week so he's doing his work each night at the moment. So I'm sorting out tea then looking after S all evening so he can get his work done. Its only until next Wednesday as that's when the deadline is but I'm exhausted and need a break. Arghhhhhhhhh. I know people have it so much worse than I do and sorry for ranting but I just needed to get it out!

I feel a bit better now after that! Grin

fryingpantoface · 13/03/2014 11:56

Dh is having a sick day. He has a cold. He is being pathetic. Still.

i took ds1 to nursery, my breakfast plans got cancelled, had a nap from 10-11.30 with Henry and when i pick up ds1 we'll be going to the baby clinic to get him weighed

MrsVDB · 13/03/2014 12:54

felix yes it's at the library and you all sit around and sing nursery rhymes! First time we went today and Henry slept through most of it and didn't care when he was awake. It's not really my thing but I'm the same as you and feel a bit down and getting out really makes such a difference. Even if its just a walk up the road it helps me. Don't worry about looking presentable. I just chuck on leggings and dress and hair in a bun. Just having lunch in nandos now. Seems to be an easy thing to do so I keep eating out like a lemon on my own so I'm going to get poor and fat!

MrsVDB · 13/03/2014 12:56

felix could you take sylvie out in a sling? If I'm not going to be out long I don't bother with a bottle or nappies etc just put him in snowsuit and off we go

FelixFelix · 13/03/2014 13:15

I'll dig out the leaflet for the groups round here and have a look if I can get to the nursery rhyme thing next week. I'm so nervous about going to a group alone though! I have visions of cliquey mums and me sat in the corner like a loner Blush

I have an ergobaby but I can't buckle it up on my own. It's doing my head in because I keep practicing and still can't reach the buckle at the back!!

enormouse · 13/03/2014 13:29

felix why don't you plan something nice for after your dps deadline? Maybe all go out for a meal?
Is Sylvie old enough for babyswim or is there a buggyfit/pramercise near you? Might be a bit less scary/cliquey than mum and toddlers (I found it to be with DS1)

I'd suggest trying a different sling for when you're on your own if the ergos still troublesome.

FelixFelix · 13/03/2014 14:05

I looked for buggyfit as it sounds ace but there's not one near me. Also I don't dare go swimming until I've lost some weight Blush I'm going to set myself a challenge next week to get out every other day for a walk, as I could do with the exercise anyway. I don't know why I'm finding it so hard! I need to stop overthinking it so much...

FelixFelix · 13/03/2014 14:06

Planning something nice sounds good. I think if the weather is nice next weekend we could go for a picnic or something. I'll ask DP what he fancies doing.

fryingpantoface · 13/03/2014 14:11

Go for it Felix, other mom's get how you feel.

Henry is now 9lb7. He's put on 1lb in 2 weeks!

nolongerbumpieorlumpie · 13/03/2014 14:42

Hey all, haven't been on but have been lurking for a while.

Zachary is 6wks 5days today and we had our 6 week check. The only two things are him having a hydrocele and also not smiling yet.

Is every other baby smiling now? As he is not, what could be wrong?

FelixFelix · 13/03/2014 14:46

I can't remember when Sylvie started smiling but I think it was later than 6 weeks. Maybe 8 weeks? I wouldn't worry too much!

FelixFelix · 13/03/2014 14:49

Just a quick question - S is starting to hate being in her bouncy chair thing as it's reclined and she loves sitting up as she's super nosy! I've been propping her up in the corner of the sofa so she can sit up and she's very happy like this. The only thing is she keeps falling asleep sat up then ends up all squished up which I know can't be good for her back/neck. I can't get her to nap laid down or in her bouncy chair any more. I usually try and move her so she's lying down but 9/10 times she will wake up Sad any ideas what I can do?

nolongerbumpieorlumpie · 13/03/2014 15:18

thanks Felix

How is lo's head control? could you try a bumbo?

FelixFelix · 13/03/2014 15:20

Her head control is great. We have a bumbo but I still think shes tiny bit small for it Sad sitting her up isn't the problem, I just get worried when she falls asleep.

FelixFelix · 13/03/2014 15:20

Actually I've just sat her in it and she doesn't look as tiny in it now!

nolongerbumpieorlumpie · 13/03/2014 16:08

lol! they grow so fast! I guess with her falling asleep you could either mover her or fashion a neck support out of towels and sticky back plastic!

BandontheFun · 13/03/2014 16:59

Felix what pram do you have. I sometimes put h in her pushchair sitting up a bit, then lower it down when she falls asleep. Mine has three, totally flat, kinda reclined then pretty much up straight. Prob not the best to be kicking about the living room tho I suppose.

H started smiling around 5 weeks but its only coming up to 8 that it happens more often and you know it's a definite smile.

FelixFelix · 13/03/2014 18:43

Band I have a silver cross Kensington in the living room which has an adjustable bit so I can sit her up. Didn't think of that! Thank you Grin

flyawayblue · 13/03/2014 20:25

Those that have had their 6 week checks, what happened? Did the gp check you and dc over or was it a quick in and out?

I have a day of hospital and doctors appointments tomorrow and just trying to work out how long they will be and what to expect.

nolongerbumpieorlumpie · 13/03/2014 22:31

hi we had ours today and it was very thorough. Checked me physically, emotionally and talked contraception. Checked lo physically and talked about immsSad and development. We were in there about 30 mins xx

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 13/03/2014 22:46

toby hope you're okay and that Meredith turns out to be fine - as so many people have said, it can be not too big a deal, so fx for that.

frying ours was about 45 mins. V thorough, but I did request check of stitches and my pile lucky doctor which added on time.

The car! The car is a MAGIC car, twice now she's slept for four hours after being out in it. I'm considering moving into the car permanently and napping between circuits of the neighbourhood would need to practise parallel parking though, DH had to come out and do it for me earlier Blush

Naturegirl82 · 14/03/2014 08:53

My doctor didn't physically check me at our 6 week appointment just Olivia. But we were in there a while anyway.

Olivia has another scan on her kidney today, thankfully it's at my local community hospital so I don't have to battle with parking.
