Hi becca! I have a similar set up with a just 2 year old menace (dd) and a 3 month old ds. Sadly new baby is an even worse sleeper than dd. I sometimes wonder about silent reflux because he often coughs and gags 10/15mins after feeds but is never sick. I used to work in a research centre but quit to relocate for Dh's dream job whilst on mat leave with dd.

Hi becca :)

BookTart · 02/04/2014 21:41

Hi becca :)

I think her tummy massage this afternoon may have loosened a few things toby!

beccajoh · 02/04/2014 21:51

Tarka DS is NEVER sick. The only time he's even brought anything up was when I lay him down after a feed to change his nappy, but had forgotten to burp him. His silent reflux came on at about 6 weeks with the classic back arching combined with screaming when we tried to feed him, hiccuping loads, choking on the milk and so on. GP initially prescribed infant gaviscon to put in his milk, which was pants. The ranitidine has been amazing! DD had awful reflux - every evening, without fail, she'd cover me head to foot with milk sick - but it didn't seem to cause her any pain and she gained weight fine so we never bothered doing anything about it and she grew out of it around a year old.

My hubby is in the middle of the interview process for his dream job in the Middle East - he works in TV. It'd be a huge change for us and it does make me nervous, however it'd be very decent £££ kerrching!

TobyLerone · 02/04/2014 21:55

That's a good point actually, book. M has done 3 poos today, and with the gaviscon it's usually one every other day if she's lucky. I hadn't even thought of that!

FelixFelix · 02/04/2014 22:05

Book, on your FACE ShockShockShock I'm sorry but I actually laughed out loud! Hooray for emergency bath Grin

Hi Becca! Welcome Smile

AMillionNameChangesLater · 02/04/2014 22:19

Hi Becca! I have a 2.5yr old ds and a 12 week old, Henry, too.

book ha ha ha just howled. Unlucky!

MrsVDB · 02/04/2014 22:48

Thank you book how exciting :)

How awful for you book! Henry pooed up the curtain before avd I thought that was bad enough

becca where in Surrey are you? I'm in croydon

Pidgy · 03/04/2014 01:03

Oh book! On your face!! Hope your clothes are ok. Sunlight trick really works. I've saved many a vest that way.

Hi becca. I have an 11 week DD and a 23 month DS who is getting more of a handful everyday. I'm in North Surrey. Where are you?

Lara is in her own room now (with the angel monitor) to see if it helps her sleep. She is too big for the Moses basket really. It hasn't helped so far bit she could still sleep now until 6. Pigs might fly right!

I was a really shouty mum today to poor DS. Hate myself for it. Sad
Have made a promice to myself not to be such a bitch. He can be so frustrating and naughty though. He's taken to hitting Lara which was when I very nearly lost it with him. I think he's jealous. The novelty of her has worn off for him. I need to remember to support him through this time though, I know.

Pidgy · 03/04/2014 01:04

*promise.

TarkaTheOtter · 03/04/2014 05:41

I'm having the same problem pidgy - in the last few days I have had to stop dd from pinching Alex and trying to stand on his head! I don't think it's malicious but more a case of "what happens if I do this" and attention seeking. I'm also currently sat next to her bed feeding Alex trying to persuade her it's still nighttime.

TobyLerone · 03/04/2014 06:48

My 2yo nephew's doing the same. He adores Meredith and I don't think he wants to hurt her, but sometimes he pokes her, kind of presses his head on her really hard, or strokes her with a clenched fist! I caught him putting his knee on her head the other day.
It must be exhausting having it all the time.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 03/04/2014 09:30

Morning all! Sorry to hear about the fighting toddlers.

Henry slept yesterday from 4pm until 7am. I tried waking him to eat, but he wasn't having any of it. He did have 21ozs yesterday so I'm not as concerned as i probably should be. That's in the range for his weight. I didn't realise the jabs would wipe him out so much. He took the rotavirus one well, didn't spit out a drop.

I'm taking him to get weighed again today. Hopefully we'll have hit the 10lb mark! Still not heard from the peadiatrician though, last week the hv said I would have heard by now.

MrsVDB · 03/04/2014 10:02

million does he have that long sleep all in one place such as his cot?

FelixFelix · 03/04/2014 10:13

Million that's a long sleep! Glad he managed to take enough oz Smile could you chase up the paediatrician with the HV?

Angelesque · 03/04/2014 10:24

Million haven't been to the Trafford Centre one yet, but a friend has and said it was great. I've been to one in Edinburgh and it was fantastic - v chilled.

Baby has been unsettled last 24 hours - not sure if it was triggered by us giving him his first bottle of expressed breast milk. He wolfed it down, then demanded boob... Then threw quite a lot of it back up. He is sleeping well at night now though, so I guess it's swings and roundabouts. Trying to coax him into a nap now after he was a bit sicky after the morning feed...

Also second the Mamas and Papas sale love... Got F a cool bird print shirt reduced from £22 (£22!!! For a two month old baby!!! He will prob wear it once!!) to £6. Most pleasing.

FelixFelix · 03/04/2014 10:50

Angel I am always Blush at the price of some baby clothes. I always buy Sylvie stuff in the Joules sale as I love the patterns, and have just gone through some clothes I put away and the babygrows were meant to be £26 each ShockShockShock I got them for 8 quid Grin

AMillionNameChangesLater · 03/04/2014 10:52

MrsV he started the sleep in his Moses basket as I thought he'd wake up soon, transferred to his cot at 10.

normally he sleeps in his cot 6:30/7 until 7am, he sleeps so much better in his cot, he's also in his own room with the sensor mat. I think we were disturbing him and vice versa

AMillionNameChangesLater · 03/04/2014 12:19

He sicked up his whole last face. After a bath, I've tried him in his first 0-3 month outfit, a gruffalo one, it's still on the large side, but he looks so cute

pumpkinsweetie · 03/04/2014 13:21

Grin book it happens to the best of us Wink. The worst shit experience for me was just before a morning school run. Will teach me never to change baby pumpkin on my lap pre going outGrin

million so pleased your baby is fitting in some next size clothes even if a lil baggy, its progressSmile

Hello to newcomersSmile waves!!!
Being a sahm gets some getting used too but I have been a sahm for 11 years and I love it but at times it can get lonely. I try to get out for adult conversation as much as I can or I would go barmy lol!

Hv cancelled baby pumpkins 3 month check today, was actually looking forward to itAngry. She always cancels on me and rearranges but Im happy as im lucky she is a nice one unlike the ones I had with my other children.

FelixFelix · 03/04/2014 13:52

Pumpkin I'm considering not going back to work. We can afford it (just) but I'm worried about what we will do each day. I am the sort of person who can easily get in to a crap routine of never leaving the house. I only have Sylvie who is 14 weeks so won't have a school run etc for a few years. What sort of things do you do through the week?

beccajoh · 03/04/2014 13:57

mrsvdb and pidgy I'm in Walton on Thames.

I can't believe how big my baby is getting already. He was dinky at birth - 6lbs - but is about 12lbs now at 11 weeks. We won't be having any more so I'm a bit sad that my teeny baby isn't so teeny anymore Sad.

Angelesque my daughter was really funny about bottles like that. She'd gobble down a bottle of milk but only seemed to see feeding from the boob as actual food, if that makes sense? Even though it was expressed milk in the bottle. It was a bit strange. She always over fed herself whether it was boob or bottle - just didn't seemed to have an off switch! My son has been fully formula fed since he was two weeks and once he's finished, he's finished and that's the end of the matter until 3 hours later.

Angelesque · 03/04/2014 14:05

Becca I thought we'd try giving him the bottle in bits to try to slow him down... Any tips? Also - I lived in Walton for six years, left two years ago. Loved it there... Many a visit to the Vine/Swan/Anglers!!

AMillionNameChangesLater · 03/04/2014 14:23

I'm sitting at the baby weigh in crying. The dr didn't complete the referral, Henry has put on 1.5ozs in a week, and I've just had enough. This is so fucking hard. Everyone thinks he's a really new baby, including the hvs. One hv is chasing down my gp to sort out the referral is being lovely, I'm just fed up

Naturegirl82 · 03/04/2014 14:45

million I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time. Hopefully the hv can get things sorted for you.

Just found a nail in my car tyre. Need to pick up the pooch from the groomers and then off to the garage I go!
