Hello ladies,

Thought I would start you off. We can just keep this a stats thread until we all deliver and then move across if you like.

To those with bad sleepers, have you tried them in a cot (rather than Moses basket)? We put Lucy in one a couple of weeks ago (couldn't fit basket in car when we went away so used the cot provided) and she suddenly slept through. I think she prefers not to bash the basket with her hands...likes the extra space of a cot. We also tried a Tomy starlight to see if that would help her settle in the evenings. It doesn't. That's the one time she fights sleep.

Glad most of the dhs behaved over Mother's Day. Dh gave me a bird in a heart wooden thing to hang and a smelly candle but most brilliantly I had a lie in, hot bath and two hours to myself. Bliiiiiiiiss!

MrsV and Toby, I love real housewives of new York and atlanta. Never quite got NJ, Washington and any of the others. MrsV you sound a little more positive.

I don't really do much with Cal. He loves his lamaze gym and being in his chair. Generally just watching things.

mythree Cal does that sometimes, bashes his arms on the side of the crib and wakes himself up. He's quite long so I don't seem him fitting in the crib for much longer. Also only has about an inch of legroom in the lovely carrycot for the pram. I had hoped to use it for a bit longer.

DS1(2.5) seems to be having a growth spurt and is suddenly fitting into his 2-3 clothes and has been ridiculously clumsy lately. I'm still waiting on his paediatric referral for his height but he seems to be doing ok atm.

Mothers day was lovely. I got a long bath too and got a wheatie warmer polar bear and a book about cookies. Also got a box of oreo pop tarts.

FelixFelix · 31/03/2014 13:15

Ooh Mythree wee have a tomy starlight which DP's best friend bought. She absolutely loves it! I used it this morning as she was whinging and it instantly amazed her and she fell asleep Shock it's a shame Lucy doesn't do the same Sad

book Angry to your 'D'H. Shithead. Hope GP can help, you really are going through the mill, aren't you? So unfair. Glad Percy is still lovely and keeping you sane.

MrsV that sounds positive! I really hope he's started to see what he'd miss. Yay!

angel babies are so fucking weird. Alex loves staring at blank walls. Psycho. Grin

altered thank you for saying that! The crying just gets in my head. Sometimes I hear it when she's not crying Hmm. I'm seeing the GP later this week to talk about it.

entertaining A isn't much of a one for toys, although she'll sit in her bouncy chair and wallop her elephant dangly toy for an hour! Otherwise I'm still the best toy, esp if I sing to her. I use the chair, baby swing, playmat, etc too. Also bum out on change mat is a sure fire ten mins to grab breakfast. Nudist child.

Stupid triple post. Soz! Blush

AMillionNameChangesLater · 31/03/2014 20:33

humpty i got like that with ds1. I could hear him crying, even when he wasn't in the house. It was like PTSD, in fact, that's how I describe it when telling others

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 31/03/2014 21:27

altered PTSD is right. Although some days she's pretty quiet, my heart still sinks when she wakes up 30 mins after a feed (for wet nappy) as it's then twenty mins of screaming before she'll consent to go back down for more sleep, regardless of yawns, ear pulling, eye rubbing etc.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 31/03/2014 21:29

Does she wake up because her bum is wet? Or do you wake her? If she's waking, could you try a different kind of nappy, one which will keep her feeling dryer for longer?

TarkaTheOtter · 31/03/2014 22:02

I agree, should be able to stay dry through the night? Have you tried going up a size?

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 31/03/2014 23:04

million and tarka she does tend to stay dry overnight! it's more daytime naps. I've tried Pampers, Sainsburys, Asda, Morrisons, Lidl, Waitrose own brands and cloth (little lamb and BumGenius). She gets incredibly het up about being wet as soon as she feels it! Touchy little madam... Hmm

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 31/03/2014 23:05

Just realised I said altered before when I meant million...

FelixFelix · 01/04/2014 05:50

Humpty when I was on the postnatal ward a midwife told me girls can be really sensitive to wet nappies and will quite often cry as soon as they need changing. So it may be that she simply just doesn't like it Sad which is a massive pain in the arse!

We have had a third night of sleeping from 11.30ish until 5.45 Shock I feel like a new woman!

Pidgy · 01/04/2014 06:52

mythree that's interesting about the cot theory. Lara will soon be in her cot as she's getting too big for the Moses basket. She's not that great a sleeper so hopefully this will help. She does one long stretch 7/8 to 12/1 or slightly longer if I feed her when she's asleep before I go to bed. But, she's them quite unsettled after this stretch. Very dummy dependent too.

mrsv really hope you can work things out. Fingers crossed.

For entertainment Lara looks at her mobiles, I sing to her, she goes in her play gym, I show her toys, books (with the patterns) and she sits in her bouncy chair looking around. It's lucky she's getting good at sitting on her own as I can't give her all the attention with DS around.
Tuesdays are when DS is in childcare so it's our day today. :-)

Naturegirl82 · 01/04/2014 07:45

felix that's really interesting what the midwife said as Olivia hates having a wet nappy and will cry until it's changed if she is awake but she will sleep through a wet one. Doesn't mind a dirty one though! Humpty I've found the cloth nappies better as she doesn't feel the moisture as much. I'm switching to cloth full time today so looking forward to not doing a million nappy changes like usual.

mrsv fx that things may be improving for you.

Naturegirl82 · 01/04/2014 07:48

Does anyone have a swing chair for their LO's? Thinking of getting O one. She isn't massively keen on the bouncer chair we have so was wondering if she may prefer a swinging chair as being swung in her car seat often sends her to sleep!

Naturegirl82 · 01/04/2014 07:50

Felix yay for the good sleeps Smile

TobyLerone · 01/04/2014 08:03

We have a swing. Meredith likes it and sometimes it sends her to sleep. It usually gets us 10 minutes to eat our dinner, at.least.

I'm not sure it'll last her much longer, though. I don't think I'd buy one at this point.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 01/04/2014 08:20

humpty that is tough. I'm not sure then, but I'll hold your hand as much as you need.

Henry slept 7:40-7:15 last night. Frustratingly he only has 16.5ozs yesterday and threw up about three of them. So far today he's had 1oz. Would changing his milk help? I'm at a total loss. I'd be fine if his eating increased but his sleep decreased. It just doesn't seem to be happening

Naturegirl82 · 01/04/2014 08:28

toby that's what I wondered but I've seen one that then converts to a toddler seat so thought that one might be a better buy.

Swannykazoo · 01/04/2014 08:45

Oh god it really is a sleep regression! Not that little puggle was ever a brilliant sleeper but could cope with co-sleeping and tended to get a solid 4 hours before first waking. Sadly has never really been in moses basket as he usually sleeps in our bed. It was every 2 hours last night - by the clock! Like having a newborn rather than 14 weeks and over a stone of baby. His daytime feeding has gone weird too - will feed for a bit then start looking around even though its just his normal surroundings. Hoping we'll ride this new development out quickly....boo....

TobyLerone · 01/04/2014 08:50

Ah. Sounds good, nature. M's is more of a newborn one.

FelixFelix · 01/04/2014 09:42

Nature we have a swing chair. I think it's a fisher price one with a jungle theme. I've currently got it as just a chair which you rock yourself, but I think she's big enough for the actual swinging attachment now so I'm going to get DP to set it up. She's in in constantly and loves it! Always falls asleep in it too when I rock it.

FelixFelix · 01/04/2014 09:44

Puggle that sounds tough! We are at 14 weeks now too but no signs of sleep regression yet, although she was 3 weeks early so that might make a difference. I'll try and catch up on sleep in these next three weeks Grin
