Hello ladies,

Thought I would start you off. We can just keep this a stats thread until we all deliver and then move across if you like.

:( book
I was wondering whether arsehole DH would have got you a MD card. FFS Angry
I'd go back to the GP if I were you.

BookTart · 30/03/2014 16:19

I'm going to call the GP in the morning to chase her referral. They can't prescribe anything else for her without the paediatrician's say so I don't think, but if she's lost weight then I'll have more ammo for the GP.

FelixFelix · 30/03/2014 17:39

Book can't believe he didn't even bother with a card Sad sorry its so tough for you at the moment.

Pidgy I'm the pulled pork enthusiast Grin DP is buying some liquid smoke to try out next time with it!

Got out all of the 3-6 months clothes this morning and I am stunned at how much stuff she's got! I don't know how she will wear it all. Been to ikea to buy shelves and light shades and having an Indian takeaway later. I can't wait!

BookTart · 30/03/2014 18:11

felix I've just got Percy's 3-6 month sleep suits out and they fit, but the dresses are massive!

I have a slightly Blush question. Now that they are awake more in the daytime, how do you keep them entertained? Tummy time and play gym only last 10 minutes each, and I wave her favourite toy about for her after each nappy change. Sometimes she'll go in her swing, and sometimes she's left flailing about on a towel while I sort washing or feed the cats. What else could we be doing? She sometimes seems bored and gets a bit shouty and I need to distract her from the boob option a bit more. She also likes to lay on a footstool and watch TV upside down Blush

FelixFelix · 30/03/2014 18:30

Book I feel really guilty as I don't really entertain her much. When I try, she's not even interested. All she does when we are in the living room is either stare at the tv, stare at DP's studio speakers or smile at the blank wall... I sing to her or wave toys at her but she doesn't care. She has a heart of stone Grin

FelixFelix · 30/03/2014 18:32

I forgot to say that Sylvie giggled earlier in the bath!!! It was the cutest thing ever and of course I can't get her to do it again Hmm

AMillionNameChangesLater · 30/03/2014 18:48

book sorry it's been rubbish.

there's not much entertaining you can do. Henry is in hs bouncy chair, play gym, or in his basket. They cant really do much so don't stress. Just talk to the baby and sing etc, they really don't care.

felix how lovely!

Henry is still in up to 1 month clothes at 11wks 4 days. I'm hoping he at least hits 10lb this week

BookTart · 30/03/2014 19:09

Don't be sorry, she's still lovely :)

felix Persephone has only giggled in her sleep so far, but it is sooo cute!

million fingers crossed for Henry, I know how stressful it is.

Angelesque · 30/03/2014 21:03

Book I'm so pleased you asked the question - was starting to feel like the shittest mum for a) getting a bit bored in the day and b) running out of entertainment ideas. All F wants is for me to carry him round all day so he can look at EVERYTHING. Particularly big white walls he can do his broadest, most beautiful smiles for.

Babies are weird.

But brilliant.

MrsVDB · 30/03/2014 21:09

book sorry you didn't get anything :( men are cuntpuffins

So after all the drama me and dh might be trying to make it work (apologies for the Jeremy Kyle life!). I'm staying at my parents but dh came down today and we went for lunch and a walk around a national trust place. Was a lovely lovely day. When I put my pjs on when I'd got home he'd left a note saying sweet dreams under my pjs (went up to get bottles so he could make them all up before he left). Reminds me why I love him. Was the perfect family day. and will make it even harder if we split up. :(

MrsVDB · 30/03/2014 21:11

Henry has also only chuckled it his sleep, like a proper snigger :) when he's awake we get smiles and happy noises but not sniggers :)

Sorry about your test felix I passed before that so can't give too much advice but I know there's a practice cd you can buy to get timing better

MrsVDB · 30/03/2014 21:14

Last message I promise wine is Making me forget what was written but Henry played with my friends child elmo toy which vibrates avd talks and he loved it. Didn't think he was ready for actual toys but he must be so will go on a shopping trip soon

TobyLerone · 30/03/2014 21:20

Meredith is quite happy to be semi-naked on the changing mat for a while. We've also found that she absolutely loves to be propped up on the floor on her little u-shaped cushion thing so she can shout at the tv! She loves the tv all of a sudden, and tbh I can't see a problem with it. It's just people talking. We don't have kids' tv on. But the news makes her alternately smile.manically and shout :o

It's very useful for half an hour or so while we eat dinner or I sort laundry etc. She has a Lamaze octopus which squeaks and she likes that the most, although obviously she can't make it squeak herself so I have to give myself RSI squeaking it for her.

TobyLerone · 30/03/2014 21:24

Sounds very promising, MrsV. Hope so!

FelixFelix · 30/03/2014 21:40

MrsV that's good news, I'm glad you had a good day. Do you think it's helping spending a bit of time apart with you staying at your parents? The note sounds cute Smile

MrsVDB · 30/03/2014 21:49

Henry also loves tv and any attempt at tummy time ends up lieing like a seal watching whatever crap is on usually housewives of New Jersey or some other crap

I hope so felix I'd try anything

FelixFelix · 30/03/2014 22:04

I love real housewives of New Jersey! I only started watching it because it comes on after Jeremy Kyle and I can never be arsed to then the channel over Blush

TobyLerone · 30/03/2014 22:15

I like Beverly Hills, New York and Atlanta but I never got into NJ :(

Dance Moms is the best show on tv currently. Fact.

MrsVDB · 30/03/2014 22:39

I hate Atlanta I'm afraid toby Also don't have sky

As Henry watches tv most of the times I'm trying not to watch jk, especially as it's the same shouting every day. Gets a bit dull

Happy Mothers' Day everyone!

book I don't do much entertaining here. Tummy time isn't N's favourite, though he finally is doing something other than face planting and screaming. He likes peek a boo and giggles when you smile at him and babble. That is about as rock 'n' roll as it seems to get, except when I have to turn off the light because he keeps staring at the lightbulb.

No mention of Mothers' Day here either, except when I told DH that he and I had bought DSM macarons from Pierre Hermé. He has an excuse though, his viva is tomorrow and he is bricking it. It also isn't mothers' day here. Went out today with DSM, DB, DSS, DBIL and the kids while he hid and reread his thesis. DD managed to eat three kinds of chocolate, ice cream, go on a carrousel, cover herself in dust drawing with a stick on the grit paths and play with the boats at the jardin des tuileries and still not be tired at midnight. Confused How do they do it?

alteredimages · 31/03/2014 00:04

humpty glad you had a good weekend but babies are really hard, don't beat yourself up. I remember telling DD at that age that I was going to take her back to the shop and get a new baby who doesn't cry all the fucking time. Crying really does affect you physiologically and not just mentally, don't suffer alone. This may not be of help but I have noticed that N is a nightmare going out in the pram but will stay quiet and happy for hours in the baby carrier.

mrsv so glad today was better and will be thinking of you and hoping you can work things out with your DH.

Naturegirl82 · 31/03/2014 07:43

altered good luck to your dh. You might find he actually enjoys the process. Never again will he have people's undivided attention to talk about his subject.

alteredimages · 31/03/2014 08:59

Thanks nature. Yeah, that's true, though the viva in France is a bit different from the UK. Firstly, it is open to the public, and secondly you have to put up quite a solid defence: the examiners' questions are usually tough and their comments very critical. Still, it is only two hours long and then there will be mezze!

Naturegirl82 · 31/03/2014 09:04

altered some uni's in the uk are using that system as well. I'm sure he will be fine, it's amazing how much detail you know your work in! As my lecturer used to say you are the expert on your thesis.

Swannykazoo · 31/03/2014 09:24

Hello everyone. Got a lovely card, and my DH's comedy sleight of hand to pretend little puggle had it made me cry...It was like being pregnant again (the tearyness rather than being massive and angry and heartburny)

So, my lovely little baby that cuddled up to sleep beside me has turned into a threshing machine. Arms flailing, legs kicking, grunting, waking every hour, requiring a nipple in mouth to sleep and yet also refusing sidecar crib. I'm absolutely knackered this morning, and have the is this 16 week sleep regression fear
