Hello ladies,

Thought I would start you off. We can just keep this a stats thread until we all deliver and then move across if you like.

It's windy here too humpty the pram was like a sail on the way to rhyme time. Still didn't make any friends but did sing along this time as h was awake and seemed to enjoy it. Got a few books out as I think he enjoys them who knows but I feel like a good parent reading to him

I think my positive outings on the train previously made me a bit cocky as just tried to get on with a tea in my hand. Got front wheels up but when I tried to lift back up the pram started going sideways and worried he'd fall down the gap. A nice man helped in the end but did have a panicy moment

Naturegirl82 · 20/03/2014 12:12

O just had her injection and did really well, no crying at all. Have a two hour wait for the scan now. The little girl before us though was hysterical it was heartbreaking.

My hv or doc haven't mentioned anything about drops so not taking them here. We go out everyday though and I'm still taking multi-vits so am sure it will be fine.

TarkaTheOtter · 20/03/2014 12:33

book I wish the hv had told me with dd? I killed myself getting her to self settle and at 12 weeks she was sleeping through 7-7. I thought we had it completely sorted. Then at 16weeks it changed and she wouldn't fall asleep unless she was rocked or fed (or rocked and fed at same time sometimes) and would wake every 2hrs. We've never really got back to 7-7 and she's 2 now. Even after sleep training which stopped most night wakings she still would be up early.

mrsv I found I had better luck meeting people at coffee morning type groups than activity based ones.

nature Alex had his hips scanned a couple of weeks ago and didn't seem to mind too much. Hopefully Olivia will be the same.

Dd is getting her back molars in and sleeping terribly. Between her and Alex I'm getting no sleep. Dh back tonight so looking forward to just having Alex wake me up as dh sleeps downstairs in the room next to dds. Maybe one day we'll actually share a bed again!

TarkaTheOtter · 20/03/2014 12:35

Here the advice is vits for bfing mum and for babies older than 6months who are not having formula. Dd hates them though so doesn't take them often. Once she's 3 she'll love the chewable ones because I'll tell her they're sweeties.

FelixFelix · 20/03/2014 13:15

I don't know anything about vitamins! Since Sylvie is FF, I'm guessing formula has added vitamins in it?

alteredimages · 20/03/2014 13:21

Yes felix, formula has vitamins added to it so you don't need to supplement.

fryingpantoface · 20/03/2014 13:22

According to NHS website, FF babies don't need Vit D until 6 months

FelixFelix · 20/03/2014 13:30

Oh good, I panicked a bit then!

Naturegirl82 · 20/03/2014 15:54

O was brill, just fell asleep on the scanner table so they managed to get the scan done really quickly. Looked like there was just one kidney which is good news. Won't know for definite until we see the consultant though. Smile

fryingpantoface · 20/03/2014 16:07

Brill nature

pumpkinsweetie · 20/03/2014 17:08

Hello everyone (waves) Smile

Baby pumpkin is 10 weeks now, cannot believe how fast time has flown.
She has slept through now for 3 weeks bar one night.

She is a sicky one though (I am ff) always posseting & atleast one projectile a day. Hv says this is normal but I can try stay down milk if I want. Was going too but it has to be made up with fridge cold water & can cause constipation so decided not too.

FelixFelix · 20/03/2014 17:11

Glad it went well nature Smile

Mythreeknights · 20/03/2014 18:16

Well done nature, you seemed to take that completely in your stride. Am delighted that its the best outcome Smile

FelixFelix · 20/03/2014 20:34

Pumpkin that's great with the sleeping!

Do you think she could possibly have reflux? Sylvie is also ff and used to be very sicky but it's now stopped since we started giving her gaviscon prescribed by the GP. She would spit up what looked like a whole bottles worth at least once a day but now I can't even remember the last time she did it! May be worth seeing your GP to get her checked out Smile

Pidgy · 21/03/2014 00:02

Wow, lots of good sleeping babies!!
Not sure Lara got the memo about letting mummy have sleep. But it's not all bad...she only woke twice last night which was way better than her previous attempts. Hoping it's not just because of the jabs as she has been very tired. Hmmm...we will see!!

Re: vitamins. I was told only after 6 months but to make sure I was taking vit D.
Also, tarka have you tried to syrup vitamins rather than the drops. Much better tasting. DS would refuse the drops (bitter tasting) but does an enthusiastic 'yum' for the abidec syrup. What with the teeth brushing and various other battles, one less battle here is great.

MrsVDB · 21/03/2014 04:57

Dh is away with work. Henry has been up every half an hour/ hour since we went to bed at 10. This is his worst night so far

flyawayblue · 21/03/2014 06:59

Thanks for the sleeping comments, hadn't heard the 4 month thing.

Hope your night emproved mrsv, we had a evening from hell as she'd refused her daytime sleeps so was overtired and windy. Poor girl only had 10 hours in 24. Finally down and then out for 5 hours straight. Won't be trying the put down awake thing today as don't want a repeat and visiting my aunt who's just had surgery. I need to go on the train myself with the wrap as soo many stairs at all 4 stations involved.. Finally wish I could drive as it's only 15 minutes at max!

Will catch up properly once Alice is back asleep.

MrsVDB · 21/03/2014 07:20

Nope Henry stayed awake for rest of the night. We were out yesterday for 8 hours at rhyme time, lunch and shopping for a lovely mulberry purse and he was so well behaved so I think it was payback time!

MrsVDB · 21/03/2014 07:29

Kiddicare has these for £3 (from £15) if anyone's using them miosolo nappy nappy

BookTart · 21/03/2014 07:42

I feel your pain mrsv, Percy was up from 2-5 after the worst evening ever. Poor little thing is in such pain from her stomach that she just feeds herself to sleep, screaming and thrashing while she feeds, then wakes up screaming, then repeat. All evening. We've got her jabs and 8 week check today, so I'll see what the GP says. Gaviscon didn't do much at all, and I'm not getting as much into her as she probably needs as I'm using a syringe and she just spits it back out! HV weighed her yesterday and she's 10lb 5 at 10 weeks, so still quite small. HV thinks we need to see a paediatrician. I'm so tired, and so sad that she's not able to be happy :(

alteredimages · 21/03/2014 08:11

Great news nature!

Your night sounds like it was really hard mrsv but at least you have a mulberry purse!

Sad book. It is so hard seeing them like that and not getting a break. Would an outing help? Myy DD seemed to scream constantly for her first three months but she is now three and a very active happy little girl. Still not keen on sleep though. Smile This won't be forever, and in the meantime feel free to smack anyone who tells you to 'enjoy them while they're young' or that they get harder as they grow up.

MrsVDB · 21/03/2014 08:19

book sorry you had a tough night, hopefully the gp will have some advice. I think they put too much emphasis on weight, if they're too big it's diabetes, too small not eating enough. All babies grow at different rates and some will be small and some will be big. You know your own baby.

After my first public nappy change yesterday (on a loo seat as no facilities where Henry decided to keep pooing once nappy was off) I have my first long car journey on my own today too. Really worried about him screaming on motorway where I can't pull over

alteredimages · 21/03/2014 08:24

Sorry mrsv that sounded really flippant. It isn't at all easy being alone with a baby who won't sleep.

TobyLerone · 21/03/2014 08:24

But she's following a curve right, Book? She's exactly the same weight as Meredith. Hope the GP can reassure you and that the jabs go ok today.
Re the Gaviscon -- have you tried mixing it with less water so it's more concentrated? That way you'll be getting more into her, IYSWIM? I mix M's with 5ml of water and use the Calpol syringe after most of her feed. Then give her the rest of her feed.
I'm not sure the Gaviscon is helping much in the day, but she's been sleeping for much longer at night.

Sorry you had a crap night, MrsV :(

Glad the appointment went well, nature.

alteredimages · 21/03/2014 08:27

Miosolo nappies now out of stock mrsv. It was a great offer though!
