Dry toast and water. Sad not inspiring by any stretch.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/12/2013 16:22

And up the compote came. Before I'd even started cleaning it... I want more compote. Poor little girl. Dunno if it phlegm or a bug. And she's too ill to sit in a waiting room.

I think I'll give her diarolyte solution for the rest of the evening when she's thirsty. In squash or water?

ditsygal · 09/12/2013 16:29

PR I would give it in water if she will take it - squash if not.
And some dry toast or bread sticks definitely are what I would offer food wise, just a little bit. It must be horrid knowing she is hungry but will throw it all up. hugs

PetiteRaleuse · 09/12/2013 16:34

Thanks. Will offer her some toast in an hour or so. My diarolyte is past its sell by date by a year Hmm

Have told dh to get some more or whatever dr recommends but he has 4 people ahead of him at dr so a good 90 mins wait.

PurplePidjin · 09/12/2013 17:11

evi ex cunt bil forgot dn's 3rd birthday. SIL took great pleasure in letting me answer the door after their access visit and offering him a slice of Cake

PR ice lollies? Orange juice with 9tsp sugar and 1/4 tsp salt, 250ml iirc, makes rehydration solution. I would. Do 1 part oj to 9 parts water for a lo though or skip it and use plain water. Teaspoon or syringe it in a few drops at a time. Dry toast will actually help, at least so she's got something to bring up iyswim. Maybe a scrape of honey?

Pikz · 09/12/2013 17:27

I was going to say toast and honey PP. It's all that's staying down here.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/12/2013 17:46

Thanks, that's great.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/12/2013 18:54

She kept down some water, had a nap, woke up and vommed everywhere again. Have shoced a paracetamol up her bum and put her back to bed. Am worried about dehydration though. No diarrea thank fuck. LO is grouchy after jabs. Must be the same virus. Bronhiolitis ruled out by paed for now.

TheDetective · 09/12/2013 19:33

Oh vom, won't you do one! Poor babies!! We have been very very lucky so far. O has not yet had a vomiting bug, but it really is only a matter of time.

I am frequently grateful he is not in childcare listening to all these tales, as his vomiting is very under control these days, but now and then he throws us with a random vomit, or maybe 2 or 3 vomits in the same day. They can look large amounts, but they are not. I'm pretty certain I'd know if he had a bug. But I do think if he was - he'd be getting sent home when nothing was wrong. When he's been teething, the vomiting occasions increase, and obviously with teething temps, someone else might think he is ill. But he really isn't! The only real illness we've had are these 2 ear infections he's recently had, and the strange rash on his face - none of these things were contagious.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. I'm just wittering on as I'm sure O would get sent home a lot. Mind you, maybe it would get me out of work?! Grin Small mercies?!

I have to report that O must be up to something terrible. He's been the model baby all day. I'm sure he's storing up a shitter of a night!

I took the sling with me ready to use should he get a grouch on. Not once. Not one single grump. Even on the train. The only time he shouted was when people stood in front of us, causing the pram to stop moving. He wasn't crying though, but actually shouting using intonation and everything, was tres amusing. Although maybe not so much for the people getting a garbled earful from him! Grin At least they moved though - people have a habit of not hearing 'excuse me'!

Speaking of people. I hate people. They are soooooo fecking rude. No one can wait patiently for their turn, and it gets right on my tits. WAAAAH!

ChasingDaisy · 09/12/2013 19:42

Det I hate people too. So annoying aren't they? Wish I could just live in quiche land.

BigPigLittlePig · 09/12/2013 19:46

A place where sophias always got the kettle on, PR is cooking up a storm, and VQ is the wise quiche owl.

Passmethecrisps · 09/12/2013 19:50

What a terrible night!

I am shocked and appalled by the dreadful treatment employees get with family illness. When I was off with p in October no one at all mentioned it other than to ask how she was and was I sure I was ok to be at work the next day. Apparently we get 5 days family leave which can be granted at the discretion of the head teacher. The big discretionary part is that there is no time span dictated. So, for example, if you have a child with complex needs who attends numerous appointments in a year te head could say those 5 days are within a 6 month period. For 'normal' circumstance he would say a year. We also get compassionate leave as well so if you ran out of one you could use another. The issue with us is that this is wholly at the discretion of the head - if the head is a baw bag then you are stuffed. So even if you moved to another school across town it could be totally different. Thankfully my head is a champion superstar.

When your child is ill you shouldn't need to worry about work.

And pr that story of getting your photo taken made me shudder. I remember being at a party once and being aware that a man was filming and/or taking pics of me. It was deeply disconcerting.

Glad you have got lots done today lily. Today is another day.

And evi I have no wise words other than a) I have never been more glad that you LTB and b) keep things legal and firm and the ball in your court. Xx

Passmethecrisps · 09/12/2013 19:51

Cross posted and forgot people. Back soon. Tea ready!

ChasingDaisy · 09/12/2013 19:54

It would be an egg and dairy free quiche land obviously.

BigPigLittlePig · 09/12/2013 19:56

Well, there would have to be cheese on a high shelf for those of us that need it.

Pikz · 09/12/2013 20:00

Cheese, wine and chocolate on a high shelf with a auto crumb Hoover.

Small person full of a huge concoction of drugs and asleep for now. I have tea, raisin flapjack and homeland

Evilwater · 09/12/2013 20:04

Sorry to read of all the poorly babies.

Still cross about ex p.
Evil

Passmethecrisps · 09/12/2013 20:12

Quicheland sounds quite the place to be!

I forgot to say 'hello' to bp. On callness sounds shit.

And gt I have mulled over your circumstance over and over. I appreciate that there are cultural circumstances which make is difficult to do what seems natural but hell's teeth you deserve a sodding medal! It was the "knock knock are you awake" comment last night that very nearly had me coming on down there last night

PetiteRaleuse · 09/12/2013 20:29

Omg I think I've caught the bastarding bug. Feel so nauseous have come to bed with sick bowl for me and dd1, and a pile of towels so I don't need to change the bed unless absolutely necessary. Must be right for tomorrow am supposed to see the house. DH is going to sleep in dd1's bed. Please don't let me vomit like the girls I am sooooo bad at dealing with myself vomming. Quicheland sounds good. soph should be on cook duty I'll hand out suppositories. Thought of cooking makes me want to vom right now. :(

ValiumQueen · 09/12/2013 20:30

Hello peeps Smile Wise owl just checking in Grin

J vommed at nursery and had a temp of 39 but they kept him as he was happy with it. Strange boy.

Pass that sounds wonderful about how you were treated when P was small. The thing that upset me most when J was off, was that my clients all asked after him, but none of the staff.

DD2 just dropped J on his head. He thinks it is funny. They are both sleep dodging tonight.

BigPigLittlePig · 09/12/2013 20:32

Sad PR I hope not xx

TheDetective · 09/12/2013 20:35

O had his first taste of baked beans this evening. A roaring success. Actual roaring!

I am soooooooooo happy we can get tomato in his diet. It makes a MASSIVE difference. This week there is only one meal that isn't suitable for him. It makes life a million times easier that he can eat most of our meals with either no adapting, or minor adaptations.

My carpets are not looking forward to this though... Hmm. Eeek!

PR Fingers crossed you just need a poo or something? No vom. No!

Pikz enjoy your evening, and relax :) Hope L settles well. And sleeps. And in no discomfort. :)

ValiumQueen · 09/12/2013 20:42

I hope you are ok PR x

J just dropped DD2 on her head. Not so funny apparently.

TheDetective · 09/12/2013 20:43

How on earth did J do that VQ?! My mind is boggling Grin.

Passmethecrisps · 09/12/2013 20:43

Baked beans on toast is the supper of kings det!

I know I am extremely lucky vq. Our head is a family man who has lived it all and, thankfully, is able to apply his learning. Like all good teachers should! This is what makes me so agape at the treatment of people who work within the NHS. Surely health should be a priority?

I am also glad that little J is good with his poorly ness. Brave boy.
