Apologies for the x-posting that meant there's no thread link in the last thread Blush.
I'll start this one and hope people find it.

roxvox · 19/12/2013 11:09

A sleeps for 11 hours per day on average. Most of that is through the night/morning (not in one long stretch I hasten to add!) ... She goes for 30-45 minutes max in day naps. She's such an inquisitive little girl. We spend a lot of the day "chatting" to one another Smile

Sorry to those of you who have grouchy babies at the minute. It's not the easiest job in the world when they are in good moods, so the tough times definitely take it out of you, especially when they come on at 3am.

I am starting to worry about legally, we haven't heard from her in ages. And last time she was on the twins weren't 100% were they?

chickieno1 · 20/12/2013 02:44

Also thinking of legally xx

whistlingdixie · 20/12/2013 03:45

Hopefully Legally is waiting for the a bunch of posts before coming back to thread. Also worried :-/

Slippysnow · 20/12/2013 08:00

Was thinking the same about legally hope all is well.

Glad he apologised pooing in peace should be a human right.

My interview went really well I think, Thankyou for all your good wishes and advice, really helped and in the end I just tried not to worry about it and it seemed to do the trick.

Got to wait in for a health visitor again the day was booked (by them) when c was 6 days old. I think it's really rude that they haven't phoned to c

Any news from anyone else?

Slippysnow · 20/12/2013 08:02

Phoned to confirm it, I have to wait in from 10-1. I really do feel hv's think that new mothers have no life. Me and the hv's don't have a great history either so I'm hoping they show up and then that's it for a long time.

pinkbuttons · 20/12/2013 08:03

Also worrying about legally hope all is ok xx
Glad you got an apology untitled
I've actually just been laughing to myself as DH off work this morning and can hear him freaking out at DS because he wants to go to the toilet with him Grin I stayed quiet and didnt point out that I have had to mr rocking baby, talking to toddler and going to the toilet at the same time

pinkbuttons · 20/12/2013 08:05

that was meant to say master rocking a baby.
Glad thw interview went well slippy thats really rubbish about health visitors ours phoned to confirm a specific time would have driven me mad having to wait in and try and arrange new baby and toddler around them.

notsoold · 20/12/2013 08:21

Slippy..,glad interview went well and keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Hvs on my area are extremely good with timekeeping. Any chance of seeing another hv than the one that caused you problems??? I have to avoid some of the centres in my area because of their position re bf. ( I am pro bf actually). They will bully anybody that uses formula for whatever reason. ( we combine bf and ff). The same hvs are also very very good in taking away your confidence and ignoring ones expericence or instinct as if childrearing didn't exist before them!!!
Sorry rant over!

notsoold · 20/12/2013 23:50

I killed the thread!!; :(

Flyer747 · 21/12/2013 00:40

No you didn't notsoold Grin the thread moves at a snails pace these days

chickieno1 · 21/12/2013 02:11

Hi! Yes we do miss the pace!

Trying to get some energy for the last pre Xmas jobs! Need to do grocery shopping and more importantly wine and champagne shopping :). Have bought ds and dd s presents and stocking fillers.dh and I have said no presents for each other, now I'm wondering if that was a good idea :). He's off for almost two weeks so looking forward to the company.

Slippy some hv s are pretty useless! Glad interview

Jelly hope things are a little less hectic!

Mnippy enjoy Paris.

Notso I'm pretty sure you know how to feed and look after your own baby ignore hv!!

Feminist glad baby R face is better and you feel better about using flannels if that's what you decide.

Untitled I hope you're getting a good Xmas pressie from your dh!

xuntitledx · 21/12/2013 02:38

Haha, I better be!

Still nothing from legally...really hoping everything is okay x

Christmastimemoonbluesandwine · 21/12/2013 08:36

Good morning. Only 4 sleeps til Christmas and there is lots if excitement in the moonblues house. Think the children might actually burst come Christmas eve. Hopefully everyone is just busy with real life stuff - the while of mumsnet seems to be quieter than normal.

legally hope you, DD and the twins are ok.

slippy glad the interview went well and hope you didn't have to wait too long for the HV.

untitled glad DP apologised. Hopefully with a bit of time off over Christmas everyone's DPs will realise what an amazing, tiring job we're doing. :)

legallyblond · 21/12/2013 13:21

I'm fine, I'm fine! Sorry! Just been nuts here in the last week or so. I'll catch up later x

JellyCurls · 21/12/2013 15:36

Crazy mental in the Jelly house but JellyBaby slept from 8.30 till 6am then had an hours nap in am before bottle then slept for four hours this afternoon it will be a miracle if sleeps tonight.

DD collected her trophy at gymnastics today and hasn't let it go since. Being a disability class the Xmas display today was hilarious. DD was supposed to stand on one boys back but he decided today he didn't like girls so she spent a good 5 mins chasing him round the floor followed by another wee boy who thought they were playing catch. The other kids were so confused but at least the parents all found it funny.

Other than that I am trying to sort the house out for Xmas but kids seem to mess it up quicker than I can tidy it, so have given up for a well warned cuppa

Slippysnow · 21/12/2013 18:47

Well, the hv called at 10 and said she would be coming at 10.30 - 11, she found my house and was a different one, she was friendly and understanding when I said I didn't want to do regular weigh ins incase I get obsessive over loss/gains. It was a bit of a pointless trip, just how are you and baby. The highlight however was she told me about an initiative that lewisham council are doing for free vitamin d for mums and baby's for the first 4years. I know there is someone from the borough on here but can't remember the name!!

Hope everyone is busy doing all things Christmassy, I think I've been a bit lazy this year will get my act together next year.

jelly I would have liked to be audience at the display :)

whistlingdixie · 21/12/2013 21:33

Glad to hear all is ok legally

Jelly LOL at the image of a chase at Xmas display. That's what it's all about!! :-D

Hope everyone's LO who we're not well are on the mend in time for happy, healthy Xmas x

OrangeBlossom2 · 22/12/2013 11:59

Are lots of you giving your baby vitamins then? My HV said don't need to if I have a healthy diet, am taking vitamins and breastfeeding but I wonder if vitamin d would be a good idea as I don't drink milk and there isn't much sun around.

Glad legally, twins and dd recovered ok.

Lots of Christmas visits and events at the moment, busy busy driving around the country to fit everyone in. Loving showing Thomas off in his Christmas outfits! He seems to be over his grumpy wonder week period too and is being delightful. Or maybe just 2 good 5 or 6 hours sleeps in the last three nights have made me more cheerful. No idea what we did differently, just hope he keeps repeating it.

Inspired by mr Claphammamma, my DH did all the present wrapping this year. Woohoo.

Slippysnow · 22/12/2013 13:15

I'm meant to be taking the left over pregnacare vitamins but I'm not being strict with it. But you are right if your diet is good you don't have to worry- however vitamin d is really difficult to gain from diet you need the sunlight which we don't have enough of.

But... Recently they've dismissed all vitamins particularly multivitamins, vitamin d however, is still viewed as necessary.

So much conflicting advice out there. Recently there has been an increase in rickets in my borough and the other 'deprived' areas.

Slippysnow · 22/12/2013 13:16

(Posted to soon) hence the vitamin d push.

ananikifo · 22/12/2013 20:57

Orange the UK is one of very few ( if any) countries this far north that doesn't recommend vitamin D drops for exclusively bf babies. Experts are working to get the recommendations changed but it goes slowly. Most UK HCPs including HVs don't question them so tend to advise that diet is enough. I was trained in Canada and have attending some lectures on vitamin D here so I have a bit of a different perspective.

We do have a recommendation here that lactating mothers take vitamin D but in reality that doesn't increase the levels in milk. Sun exposure is not very reliable in this country and doesn't cause vitamin D production for about half the year anyway. Darker skinned babies and mums are at at higher risk of deficiency but if you're vegan (I think?) you are at higher risk too.

I bought vitamin drops for J and have forgotten to give them every day but I feel guilty about that.

GTbaby · 22/12/2013 22:30

My local drop in Clinic (also my gp) gives free vit drops because of rickets issues around here. So I try to give it to lo whenever I remember.

Ds1 I give every day as he is no longer on FF. easier as he is still drinking from a bottle so I add to that.

chickieno1 · 22/12/2013 22:42

Power cut here due to ice storm! ! Might be out for 72 hrs. Means no heating either! Not sure what we're going to do? Also means no Internet so I'll say happy Christmas to all you lovely ladies and little ones now xxx

ananikifo · 22/12/2013 22:50

Happy Christmas, Chickie. I hope you're staying warm, fed, and safe!

OrangeBlossom2 · 23/12/2013 04:04

Eek chickie, if you're still here good luck!
