Apologies for the x-posting that meant there's no thread link in the last thread Blush.
I'll start this one and hope people find it.

Sephy we use womb noise which lasts for an hour and we are usually all asleep by them. If not we know it is a bad night!

Legally Brew do you have to go out today? I would keep sick DD off nursery and all have a pyjama day. Hope you feel better soon.

Thomas woke up wanting to be played with. Stopped winging and smiled/ made his little talking noises when I was making silly faces, talking and playing the buzzy bee game. A sleepy cuddle and a shhhhhh isn't enough for him anymore which is exciting but I can see it will be exhausting!

ananikifo · 09/12/2013 10:57

Sephy I use the white noise from the sleepy sounds app and set it to 30 minutes. By then we're both asleep.

legally poor you! I hope you all feel better soon.

orange I have the same thing with J now. He actually wants socialisation and entertainment now! I just want to sleep.

We've been to the GP. He didn't say it wasn't blood in J's stools, but he did say that J seemed so well that he wasn't going to do anything. If he had something seriously wrong with him his growth would be affected and he wouldn't smile when the doctor palpates his tummy. It's possible the reflux broke a small blood vessel, or something relatively harmless like that.

OrangeBlossom2 · 09/12/2013 11:09

That sounds good Ana. They are so cautious with new babies I am sure he would have done tests etc if he was at all concerned. It sounds like J is doing really well. You could always go back if it happens again.

Flyer747 · 09/12/2013 11:16

Just went for my 6 week check and her 8 week check. Lovely DR receptionist told me to go home and they'll call me when the doctor is ready to see us as surgery is busy this morning (I only live 5 mins away) how lovely and not at all stereotypical for doctors receptionists.

Have to embarrassingly ask about my piles, the pain is awful and tmi alert a toilet full of blood from them Confused

Flyer747 · 09/12/2013 11:19

Oh and white noise we have on all night the vacuum cleaner, I love it as much as baby A!

Legally ThanksBrew I hope the twins and dd and yourself all feel better asap. Is there anyone who can come and look after them or help you out today?

legallyblond · 09/12/2013 11:57

Thanks all. DH is working from home today, so we'll survive!

OrangeBlossom2 · 09/12/2013 16:38

Was just typing that Thomas had been asleep in sling since 1 even through me going out to the post box and wondering should I wake him then he woke up by himself. He is a bit dozy, didn't cry when put him down for nappy change. Feeding him up in milk now. Probably just tired himself out with lots of playing earlier. Hopefully won't stop him sleeping tonight, usually naps for less than an hour.

Readyasilleverbe · 09/12/2013 18:45

Legally hope you're all feeling a bit better. Big hugs.x
Sephy....trapped wind update. Hv suggested colief and going dairy free. The only dairy I eat is much chocolate so will have to stick to the proper dark stuff which is very sad around Xmas. However if it helps then is worth it. Poor baby was up from 5 again this am struggling and straining. He had vommed up his gripe water. She also suggested that if it happens, give him some cooled boiled water to push everything along. Just a few sucks from a bottle may help apparently.

legallyblond · 09/12/2013 19:37

What a day! Twins ended up in hospital with bronciolitis and DD went to pre school but was sick all over DH when he went to get her.... We were discharged at 6.30 so now all three are asleep at home... Phew!

MrsAFlowerpot · 09/12/2013 20:26

Thanks Legally.

Here we're starting to see the light at the end of the whooping cough tunnel. DS now back to just being normal velcro baby and intermittent coughing/choking fits. Reading that doesn't sound so good but I've felt more positive.

Im hoping that at some stage soon he'll be well enough to start some kind of routine as if Confused

GTbaby · 09/12/2013 20:59

Oh no legally. Hope they are feeling better now.

OrangeBlossom2 · 09/12/2013 22:15

Oh gosh legally didn't realise that bad, poor things. Don't imagine helped you to feel better either. Thanks

MrsAFlowerpot · 09/12/2013 22:19

Legally just to say DD had v severe bronchiolitis at a similar age. Boots sell an electric vapouriser that was a Godsend when we got home - can't link properly as on phone but here:

OrangeBlossom2 · 09/12/2013 22:22

Glad things are improving MrsA

moonblues · 09/12/2013 22:35

legally huge sympathy. Glad your DH was around. Hope they all get better soon.

C is still coughing and breathless a week into bronchiolitis, but definitely better than he was. Though being less drowsy means he is now complaining whenever I have to put him down. I'm sure I'm making all kinds of bad habits - he's sleeping on my chest whilst I sit up in bed at night - but it seems like the only way to get through this bad bit.

moonblues · 09/12/2013 22:36

Glad things are getting better for you MrsA

Bronzemoth · 09/12/2013 23:03

legally you poor things. Hope you all have a good night.

We went to drs re what i was convinced was reflux. Dr was hesitant to prescribe reflux medicine but was concerned about his lack of poos and depressed fontenelle. So we got suppositories to help clear him out. Made me think of you ana only fortunately no black bits. Anyhow one massive poo later and we have a inch cheerier little chap who appears to be teething. I didn't realise that coughing and even choking can be symptoms which is possibly what I've been hearing in his throat. We are thinking that the constipation combined with teething overwhelmed him to the point of screaming and gave this spectrum of symptoms.

ananikifo · 09/12/2013 23:38

bronze I'm glad he feels better. I think all J's problems are related to poo. He screams and writhes while he poos and then feels better, but I think the poo also hurts the skin of his bum bc cleaning it makes him noticeably calmer. I would probably ask for a laxative or suppository if he went that long without pooing again.

Poo poo poo poo poo

This may be a stupid question but how do you know he's teething? I can see white teeth under J's gums but how can you tell if they're coming out?

OrangeBlossom2 · 09/12/2013 23:46

Glad it helped bronze but wow that's early for teeth isn't it? (I was hoping for a good few months of teeth free breastfeeding)

PseudoBadger · 10/12/2013 00:06

Legally I'm sorry to hear your little guys have been so poorly, and your dd as well. Thinking of you xx

MrsA - I'm so glad that you feel things are improving, I hope this continues.

Moon - I missed that your C had the dreaded bronchiolitis as well; I'm glad he's getting better.

Sephy · 10/12/2013 00:58

Legally and moon - Thanks hope things get better soon. Very pleased things are on the up for you MrsA and bronze.

After reading about it on here I went to get some apple gripe water from boots and during the day she really happily drank it, unlike the aniseed one which was immediately spat out. She had a very cheerful evening, even laughing (or at least smiling noisily!) when dancing with her daddy which thrilled him. So maybe it's helping.

Just tried to give her some before a feed now though and appears when hungry she's only after one thing and apple just won't do! Will repeat again afterwards and see if it has as good results as you ready.

Ready well done for getting some joy from the medical professionals. Good luck with getting the colief in, and fingers crossed it works well.

Sephy · 10/12/2013 04:49

Aw things really quiet on the thread these days - is Facebook still the place to be or is that quieter now the babies need so much attention?

If Facebook livelier, will anyone add me if I pm them? Can you pm on a mobile?!

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 10/12/2013 04:58
