Apologies for the x-posting that meant there's no thread link in the last thread Blush.
I'll start this one and hope people find it.

Thomas cried all through baby massage again today and a lot of the afternoon when all my nct group and babies were round for lunch. I realise how fussy he is when compared to other babies who will just sleep in their car seats and go straight down after a feed. Exhausted now and lots of tidying up to do. Nice to see them all though. Hopefully will get the ball rolling on making it a regular thing.

OrangeBlossom2 · 05/12/2013 17:29

Thanks sephy I've bought the book you recommended games to play with babies

kiwee · 05/12/2013 18:42

Hope all the poorly babies have a good night tonight and feel better in the morning.

C is now 8 weeks + 4 days - last 2 days she's been feeding much less (less time each feed on the whole but less in the evening too). She seems fine in herself and having lots of wet nappies/ real tears on crying so assume this is normal getting older behaviour?

Bronzemoth · 05/12/2013 19:01

sephy great suggestions.

chick you could always look into if there are baby/toddler singing groups in you area. A friend of mine mentioned about one she goes to and I really like the idea.

kiwee a week or so ago I noticed a dramatic drop in time N spent feeding but realised that there were still loads of wet nappies. I think he just became more efficient at feeding. So it could well be a good thing.

Wishing everyone well tonight. At the moment I have N in a sling and my fingers crossed.

moonblues · 05/12/2013 20:43

C was a bit worse this afternoon, so brought him up to the hospital to get checked, and they want to keep him overnight, though he now looks absolutely fine. Feeling a bit teary and just want to take him home. Wish I hadn't brought him back, though I know that's daft and it would be stupid to be home and worrying. Feels a bit like baby jail though... :(

legallyblond · 05/12/2013 21:02

Hugs Moon and baby C. DD still pretty rotten here. Quick sense check re the twins - they have nasty nasty coughs but no temperature and still mostly happy and feeding well. I figure no need to go to the dr..? DD has/had a horrid cough and also a temp, but brought down every time by Calpol or Nurofen. Again, I think no to dr unless she gets worse.... Lack of sleep making me doubt myself...

Haylebop12 · 05/12/2013 21:09

Evening everyone. Like many of you I'm keeping up with the news but finding the time to post tricky!

First of all, Im so sorry to hear about all the poorly babies. Its awful seeing them uncomfortable but lots of cuddles is the best medicine Smile

ana your post made me chuckle. Can imagine baby J's face hehe!

sephy My TT referral had to go through my BF buddy (similar to Bf counsellor) GP or midwife (if still under MW care) The clinic only runs once a week at my hospital. Ive heard a few people mention Dr Levenkind (sp) in London?

DS had his 6-8 week review yesterday (at 10 weeks) where I asked him about TT (as I hadnt heard anything from referral) and the first thing he said was ''no he isnt because he can get his tongue past his gums'' but suggested I still go for appt with specialist. I am also concerned he has a lip tie but again the GP said no. Apparantly GPs have 2 hours bf training in their 7 years? Anyway yesterday afternoon walking up to school I had my call from the LC at my hosp. Cant quite believe it tbh after the last few weeks. So next wednesday DS will be assessed and possibly clipped. Im trying not to get too excited but really hoping it'll solve more then the feeding pain and will help with wind/unsettledness, erratic feeding pattern and the ability to satisfy him! I just have to endure a few more days. She said in the meantime try to feed as much as possible but my idea was to give myself a break for the day before so that once he is done I can feed/feed/feed and not be sore or be trying to heal as he shouldn't have any bottles whilst he's relearning. I go to a bf group every week now though and feel like I may even carry on past 6 months! Anyone else changed their Bf goal since they actually started? when I was pregnant it was 6 weeks and now Im thinking Ill carry on until he doesnt want to anymore!

How are the mummies with older children getting on? Has any behaviour problems calmed down?

Still have DH off work (week 5) but he is getting better at helping out, doing all the cooking. Thats it tbh but better then previously! Think he sees how busy I am day to day now even with DD at school.

flyer Ds has cold hands too, his chest is warm though so i try not worry too much.

Batt of laptop low, damn!

MrsAFlowerpot · 05/12/2013 21:12

Thanks moon, I felt exactly the same when I was in with N earlier this week, but he had a massive coughing/turning blue fit when we were in and I was suddenly quite grateful. So nice to be back home though. He is doing a little better today. Seems to be used to his cough and not as scared/surprised when it comes. I hope all coughy/coldy/poorly babies and mums are doing okay - the hospital was full of very little babies when I was there

PseudoBadger · 05/12/2013 21:21

C is quite poorly this evening, she had a cough and blocked nose overnight but had her jabs today as she had no fever.
She's been upset ever since and symptoms have worsened and she had a temperature which has come down a bit with calpol. I'm constantly checking whether she's struggling for breath!
Thanks to all poorly babies and siblings tonight x

Bronzemoth · 05/12/2013 21:53

flyer sorry forgot to thank you for your detailed answer about reflux. It was so clear and helpful. We are confused but very grateful as N does suffer on every feed and had been much better today. Dh and I have added parents of babies with chronic reflux to people we are in awe of. I'm playing around a bit with my food just to see if there is anything we can tie it to.

I'm starting to realise that I have anxiety issues today's panic was a sunken fontenelle. I never thought I would be like this.

Racheld33 · 05/12/2013 21:57

legally H has awful sounding cough at the moment, otherwise feeding fine, normal wet/dirty nappies and I've not bothered with going to the GP ( I think I would have with DS, but second time around I have confidence in myself that I can tell if she seems well in herself)

legallyblond · 05/12/2013 21:57

Bronze - I have found that eliminating dairy has a big effect on H's reflux and how mucus-y he is. Even the presence if milk proteins / whey powder etc in something processed is noticeable.....

legallyblond · 05/12/2013 21:59

Thanks Rachel. H in particular is grisly, but feeding and sleeping normally and smiles lots through the grizzles so, provided that continues, I figure he's pretty "well in himself", just under the weather with a cough/cold... It's horrid to hear the coughing though...

legallyblond · 05/12/2013 22:00

Oh yes, and wet nappies as usual too.

OrangeBlossom2 · 05/12/2013 22:14

legally you could always call the nhs helpline for reassurance. Is it 111 now?
Thanks moon.
Hayle glad you are feeling more positive about feeding and getting somewhere with TT.

Bronzemoth · 05/12/2013 22:27

It is 111 I called with my fontenelle panic! I had heard bad things but thought they were really helpful.

kiwee · 05/12/2013 22:33

GTbaby i've found amazing bf tops that are like vest tops but without straps, they have a rubber loop instead at the front that goes round drop down part of nursing bra and so comes down at front when you unclip. Means you can wear whatever you want over the top and lift it up as tummy stays covered. Don't know if there's anything similar in uk? Not expensive here but should be easy enough to convert any cheap strappy top if you're handy with a needle and thread. Are you on fb thread - i'll put a photo on for you later?

By the way has anyone seen my nice placid baby? She seems to have been replaced with a whingy, clingy baby today - I'd like my normal one back please! New found respect for anyone who has this all the time.

Bronzemoth · 05/12/2013 22:39

legally I'm in two minds Id love to have an answer but I'd struggle without dairy. My other theory is it's linked to over tiredness as he struggles to settle during the day or settles on me and at some point I move and disturb him. I had him in the sling for two good stretches today.

May everyone and their babies sleep well tonight.

moonblues · 06/12/2013 00:39

Thanks for all the support. It really helps having this thread to read overnight. C is now wide awake and looks fine compared to the other little ones in here. Hopefully he'll settle soon, though the only time I tried to put him in the cot here he vomited and that was with the matress being tilted.

Hope everyone else's babies are doing better.

GTbaby · 06/12/2013 01:35

Shock I ain't sleep. Lo had been asleep since 12. Lucky him.
Kiwee a pic would be good. I think I know what I mean but never seen them here. See bf vests. But again seem to be expensive. May have to treat myself.
Better day. Attempted Xmas card picture. Took a few. But will try again tomorrow as not totally happy with pics.
Think I've just been exhausted last few days. With fil recent by pass and bad recovery and mil bad back it's all fallen on dh and I. Added to that lo being a bit off for a few days. I've been hella stressed and moody. Feel like in coming out of the haze a lil. But still does get ontop of me.
Fx we are going to visit a nursery tomorrow morning. Already had to cancel twice due to PIL. So really hope tomorrow happens and that I like it!

roofio87 · 06/12/2013 09:39

we had a good night here. apart from H waking up screaming at 6am. I picked him up and gave him a cuddle, put him back down and he settled himself back to sleep so I've no idea what that was about!! haha.

sad few days here as dps grandad has been very poorly. he has an infection somewhere, though they don't know where, and now his liver and kidneys have failed. he's sedated at the moment and will be woken up later. if he can't breath on his own then we will say goodbye. he's 81 and had a very good life and not been I'll long so that's all good. we will miss him a lot as we are both very fond of him. I'm so glad he met H, he was over the moon to know the family name will be carried on!Smile it's his Nana I feel sad for, I can't imagine what it must feel like to loose your husband of 60+ years.

we bought a travel cot yesterday for H to move into now he's outgrown his Moses. I want him in with us till 6 months but his proper cot is too big for our room so hell have to make do with the travel cot for a few months!!

Haylebop12 · 06/12/2013 14:52

I've found my dds red book... Now I can compare!

GTbaby · 06/12/2013 15:18

Omg. Quietest day ever! Where are you all. Sleeping and resting I hope.
Lo managed to sleep from 3 to 7. Not bad at all. Just need it to be in his cot! He does sleep in cot. Did yesterday from 7-2am. But at 2am I fell asleep mid feed.

Righty ds is awake. Need lo to finish his feed so I can put him down for a nap n go see to ds. Never ending.

chickieno1 · 06/12/2013 17:49

How was the nursery GT

Off to get first lot of vaccinations boo

Hope mums and babies are ok

OrangeBlossom2 · 06/12/2013 18:31

Been to visit my friend from work had her baby 8 weeks early the same time as Thomas.

This morning went to drs - first time left Thomas with DH - I missed him even thinly out for a hour or so. I do have anal fissures, just got to drink lots as I can't have lactulose. the swab taken earlier on the week showed an infection which I've got antibiotics for and dr thinks I might have a fistula - a hole between bum and vagina - reason for the wind coming out the front and the infection/ green discharge. Have to go back next week and then maybe see a gynacologist.

Thomas has been dong lots of big sicks today and is particularly windy/fussy again. Not sure why.
