Apologies for the x-posting that meant there's no thread link in the last thread Blush.
I'll start this one and hope people find it.

Btw I know some of you were going to get the Lamaze ladybird spinner for christmas - it's one of the Amazon lightning deals at 12:30. Not sure how much it will be though.

roofio87 · 29/11/2013 08:31

emmo that's ridiculous to expect to be able to turn up at 730 and expect you to have no plans! hope you're sister is OK today, message me if you want anything, like I said I've been where she is so could maybe help?!

we had another good night here, H slept 11 30 till 7 30! he's 8 weeks today. next week I'm going to start trying to get him into slightly more of a routine and sleeping in the evenings. he does night time very well but is wide awake until 11ish!!!

OrangeBlossom2 · 29/11/2013 08:32

Thomas really likes the lamaze toys. We have the dog on his change mat and butterfly in his car seat.

Meant to be visiting my friend who had her baby 8 weeks early today but not sure if I should with Thomas' cold as it is still 4 weeks before his EDD so probably not able to cope with germs.

notsoold · 29/11/2013 08:32

January meeting sounds great to me and any week day will be ok as my ds will dog sit after school ...

xuntitledx · 29/11/2013 08:40

January sounds good to me too - after 1pm ish to allow people to travel?

Shall we look at trying to hire or reserve somewhere if there's going to be a lot of us as it might not be so successful if we all turn up and have nowhere to go!

Daft question but are we bringing the babies? Blush

Shootingstarsandcomets · 29/11/2013 08:41

Morning.....what a night we had here. DH was out and rocked up pissed at midnightish. Ds1 woke up crying at 1, DH didn't here him, I was up with B so went down and woke DH up. Back to bed. 3am B wanted feeding again and then more screaming from ds1. DH couldn't settle him- sometimes only mummies will do- I think he'd had a nightmare as he just wanted to be cuddled and wouldn't lie down. I ended up co sleeping with both of them, me in the middle and a baby either side! I've told DH he is not allowed out again!

Flyer747 · 29/11/2013 09:17

Shooting you did well to wake a pissed dh, when dp is drunk there's no waking the beast. I hope you get some rest today.

So how does Wednesday 15th January sound for all you Manchester meet up folk?! And yes maybe best If we book somewhere, shooting you recommended areas where the was lots of restaurants? And 1pm with babies? Will put a message on Facebook also

Shootingstarsandcomets · 29/11/2013 09:23

It involved hitting flyer!
15th is good for me. I'll swap ds1's nursery days so an and I can come alone, so much easier to handle one than 2! I'll have to leave at 2 to get home to pick him up though so if anyone fancies meeting a bit before I'll probably come in a bit earlier.

Flyer747 · 29/11/2013 09:25

How about meeting at 11.30?

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 29/11/2013 10:01

11.30 is good for me but Tue or Thu would be better. Can miss our Wed baby group though if Wed is best for others.

Flyer747 · 29/11/2013 10:10

Lovely what's your Facebook name ? Just go onto the Facebook page and respond via that x

Haylebop12 · 29/11/2013 10:11

Prob nest organising on fb to save clogging up the thread x

ananikifo · 29/11/2013 13:25

flyer I'm so glad you and A got some sleep! J was pretty sleepy, too. He then woke up determined not to leave the house for our bank appointment, which was rescheduled because we cried in the middle of it last time. Now he finally has a bank account with money in it! Not much but we're working on it.

Has anyone here successfully breastfed in a caboo carrier? I think I'm following the instructions but he hates the position it pushes his head into and the straps aren't wide enough to provide much cover anyway.

Sorry for the double post.

OrangeBlossom2 · 29/11/2013 13:41

Ana I feed in my hana baby wrap, is it the same sort of thing?

apperleydapperley · 29/11/2013 13:59

so Envy of all your babies doing long stretches at night. I have had 2-2.5 hours in a stretch for last few nights, its getting shorter not longer. Killer is then having to get up at 6.45am to make the school run. Am beyond tired and feeling v peed off. DH is unsympathetic Sad whinge whinge, sorry,

ananikifo · 29/11/2013 14:00

I think wraps are easier to bf in and have more options. The caboo straps are sewn into place. I know it's a long shot, I was just wondering because I think a few of us have the caboo. I feel like either I'm doing something wrong or it's just not very well designed for feeding.

OrangeBlossom2 · 29/11/2013 14:50

Anyone got a bigger bin from their council? Our slimline one was never big enough and now we have a black sack of nappies each week it is definitely too small. The council said minimum 5 people and only then in exceptional circumstances to get the normal sized wheelie bin. Grrr.

ananikifo · 29/11/2013 16:02

Wow orange. Your council is worse than ours. How often are your collections? When we moved in we paid £25 for the full sized wheelie bin, which gets collected every other week. They've put flyers through our door saying we can opt for a free upgrade to the half size slimline bin. Hmm

Natalieand · 29/11/2013 17:14

I am keeping up with the thread but by the time it comes too posting I completely forget what I've read. Its like I've actually lost any kind of memory I ever had. Dh always comments that since having dd (age 3) its like they took my brain out at the same time lol.

But orange round here we have a full size bin and it gets collected weekly and if u don't have a bin u are allowed 5 black bags a week x

I have Harrison his Lamaze giraffe today thst I had brought for Xmas. He loves staring at it and loves in when I tickle the little ribbons on his face. We had the 6 week check with health visitor yesterday she asked how I was managing and my answer was too burst into tears lol she said I can see your struggling fortunately H screamed for 90% of her one hour visit so she could see why but she made some usefull suggestions and we've had a much happier day together today. She's one the one who suggest the cry sis website/helpline I posted for u flyer she says she doesn't thinks it seems like PND ATM just that I'm literally struggling to get on with day to day tasks with two children but obviously there's no saying it won't go that way. She didn't even ask me too fill out the obligatory PND questionnaire they usually force in every one

Also one other thing, does anyone remember my 30 week scan flagging up a big head and having the special scan finding no abnormalities and all was good well he had his 6 week gp check today and they are concerned about head siZe again so I just wondered what people's babies head circumference were at birth and at 6 weeks? As his head looks in proportion too me.

OrangeBlossom2 · 29/11/2013 17:29

Weekly collections but bin is 2 bin bag size. Little things annoy me when tired!

Nat what would be wrong with having a big head? Is it some condition he might have? I can see the issue when you have to push it out but not now.
Hope all is ok anyway. Glad HV doesn't think is PND but sorry things are difficult.

I just managed an hour and a half nap woop woop! T is tired and snugly because of his cold. Decided a nap was a better idea than a walk today.

Natalieand · 29/11/2013 17:37

orange she didn't really say she just measured plotted on the graph then said in comparison too his birth measurement its too much of a steep growth and she wants to monitor it by measuring in two weeks. Didn't really give an indication of what it would be or if it would cause problems

OrangeBlossom2 · 29/11/2013 17:58

Hmm tiny differences make a big change in the chart. MW measured toms head as 36cm at birth = 75th centile, next day dr measured 35.5cm= 50th. I wouldn't worry unless they tell you there is something to worry about, maybe just growing head now and next week body will catch up. I do think HV are a bit obsessed with those centile lines.

emmoB13 · 29/11/2013 18:07

Thanks roofio :) shes nearly finished her first chemo, shes been given 3 free tickets to a bbc christmas concert in leeds on sunday by the ward plus had her nails done while having chemo. It sounds like a nice enough experience and there has to be some perks!

DP dad is here and treating us to a curry so at least no cooking! Small mercies.

Serious growth spurt happening here! Feeding every hour to 2 hours, lots of sleeping and fussiness - after this he'll probably be in his 3 - 6 months clothes! Looking forward to it ending - according to mr google it should only last a few days.

Glad our babies are starting to settle down. H (in his usual routine) doesn't go down in the evening either roofio and only has little cap naps until going down for the night at 11pm. He does then sleep into the morning though - got it the wrong way round!
