Apologies for the x-posting that meant there's no thread link in the last thread Blush.
I'll start this one and hope people find it.

It was gp orange 34 at birth and 39cm at 6 weeks x

Haylebop12 · 29/11/2013 20:26

Nat 32.5cm at 1 week and 36cm at 6 weeks. Sure it's nothing to worry about. I don't think that sounds excessive for baby H tbh x

Readyasilleverbe · 29/11/2013 20:36

Hi. We started a bedtime routine once cord fell off at about 7 days. Start about 6 with bath, then massage, feed then bed. Basically feed to sleep. Worked well for 3 wks, until yesterday. Then, Took a long time to settle...til about 8. I went down, had dinner and then heard him screaming. Tonight similar thing. Allowed him a little moan before going up when it became clear he was working himself up rather than settling down. He is knackered at this point so I'm not sure that keeping him up later is a good idea. Also he's very alert and distractable which is why I've started to put him down upstairs. Feeling very worried that I'm doing it all wrong and that I'll never get him settling easy again or sleeping longer at night. I really need to relax but am getting more and more anxious each evening now as bedtime approaches not knowing what the night has in store. So worried about creating bad habits etc.
Hope everyone gets some rest tonight. Xx

roofio87 · 29/11/2013 21:20

ready don't worry at all. it's still early days yet and you and baby are both just settling into life. we're at 8 weeks here and still don't have a bedtime routine! going to introduce one soon but didn't see much point for my lo until now, he's still so unpredictable. just keep doing th same things each night and he'll pick up on it eventually. sounds to me like you're doing a great job!!

notsoold · 29/11/2013 23:11

Flyer...I am not on fb but will try to fit around everyone else... The 15th sounds fine and anytime you ladies prefer! :)

No routine here at all!!!

Sephy · 30/11/2013 00:50

Hooray, dd managed 8- midnight which u think is the longest sleep yet.

She stirred around 45mins after I put her down but a bit of shushing and singing quietly from the bed next to her was enough to reassure her. 3.5 hours sleep in a row feels really good! If she can do that once, now to try again...!

xuntitledx · 30/11/2013 03:34

FFS...why is my husband incapable of putting anything back?!

All evening he's been moving the baby wipes away from tbe changing table and I keep putting them back and when he asks where they are again, I keep telling him that they're back at the changing table. We're still using cotton pads and water to clean bums but I use the wipes to clean any sick and poosplosions/wee fountains up as the cotton pads are too expensive to use.

So 3am this morning, wee fountain covering the mat, LO, his clothes and me and where the fuck are the wipes?! Oh that's right, on DH bedside table...really helpful. So I shout him and shout him but despite the fact that he's in the next room, clearly he's in that deep of a sleep that he can't hear us - good job nothing serious was up.

Argh! I know it's trivial but it's 3am and I'm covered in piss Angry

Sephy · 30/11/2013 04:55

Yuck, untitled, every sympathy from me.

The only positive in that situation is that at least he is helping out enough to use and move the wipes...

dontworryjustpanic · 30/11/2013 08:30

Untitled - we have a pack of wipes in almost every room to avoid that exact situation. Both DH & I were guilty of moving the wipes after baby number 1 - this was the only solution!

Can't believe how rubbish some of you HVs are - I seem to be quite lucky with mine.

Emmo - sorry to hear about your ssister's diagnosis. Good that treatment started so soon. Hope the chemo progresses well.

OrangeBlossom2 · 30/11/2013 09:21

Eugh I was determined not to have Thomas on our chests three nights in a row but that meant picking him up for a feed (comfort?) plus saline drops or some upright time every 30-90 minutes all night. Zzz. DH has taken the milk I expressed yesterday to give me a lay in. Should have made more as can hear Thomas crying now.

Oh dear untitled!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

OrangeBlossom2 · 30/11/2013 09:22

We have changing stations upstairs and downstairs and Muslins in every room too.

dontworryjustpanic · 30/11/2013 09:50

Who was complaining about DP clearing weeds? Can you send him to my house? I'll swap you my DH for a day. DH is v patient trying to settle a screaming baby although I suspect this is down to his excessively competitive nature - not sure if he is trying to score points over me or the baby! Confused but hey it means I get more sleep so I think I'm the winner Grin

Not much of a routine here but my LO only 24 days old. Normally get her settled by 11pm after cluster feeding then she's awake for 3.30/4am feed. This means I'm getting quite a good sleep compared to some of you & I'm still bloody exhausted so hugs & Flowers to you poor tired ladies.

Oh - is anyone else really cold all the time?

Flyer747 · 30/11/2013 10:11

Notso the plan is 15th Jan meeting in Manchester at 1130 venue to be arranged. I shall post on here when we have found somewhere and also pm you. X

Soupqueen · 30/11/2013 10:24

Oh dear, untitled, hope he'll make it up to you today.

We had a lovely lie in this morning, no alarm clocks or deadlines so DH and I spent a chilled half hour reading and gazing at our gorgeous daughter sleeping. Suddenly, the world seems like a much brighter place than it did yesterday.

Lunch with my nct class today, first time the dads will be meeting up since the babies. A little nervous about feeding, I know she'll need fed but the others are all ahead of me with the expressing so I'll be the only one with boobs out. Fingers crossed for a non fussy feed!

How is everyone's lochia? I'm 6 weeks, 4 days post C section and still bleeding. I've just googled and it suggests up to 6 weeks is normal. I'm still getting cramping too. Should I see about it or just be patient?

MrsAFlowerpot · 30/11/2013 10:59

Nat DS' s head measured 35cm at birth and 39 at 6 week check. He'll be 9wo next week and sure his head has grown again. DD was the same - its down to DH having a bloody big head!

We still have zero routine here. DD was in a routine from about 10 days and I could time her naps/feeds exactly. DS is the complete opposite, refuses any bed time routine and will not even consider the moses basket for naps or night! I'm going to try again from tomorrow by taking him up from 6:30ish - just hard to manage that and DD's bedtime. She's just in reception this year so getting crabby as end of a long term approaches so I've been prioritising her.

Sympathies to you Flyer as DS seems to now have the same horrible cold as your LO - along with a hacking cough Sad

MrsAFlowerpot · 30/11/2013 11:01

Also re period starting - mine started last week and the pain actually took my breath away. Much better from day 3.

chickieno1 · 30/11/2013 13:04

soup your morning sounds lovely :). Good luck with nct lunch and you'll be fine bf out. It's with other parents and babies so really the most understanding crowd.

untitled sorry about the pee! Like others have said wipes and muslins in pretty much every room is the solution. We also have changing stuff upstairs and downstairs. I also have boxes of tissues all over the house (for ds to use as blankets or bandages or towels for his little animals) for runny noses etc. it's never ending!

mrsaf routine here depends on ds (3 and 3months) so maybe a bit late for little one. We are giving her a quick bath at the same time as ds although sometimes she's so tired I don't have the heart to throw her in the bath :(

Jealous of your meet up! I've never been to Manchester one of my best friends lived there for 18months and raved about it.it would be just a little bit of a trek :)

Off to ds football this am then pancakes for breakfast then he has a birthday party to go to and I have to find a present ASAP! Any ideas as to what to get for a 4year old boy??

Hope everyone has a nice Saturday!

roofio87 · 30/11/2013 13:11

I've escaped!! I'm currently on my way to my friends house for an afternoon of biscuits and films and a night of booze and dancing! dp is on baby sitting duties. I'll miss my little man so much but so excited to get away!!!Blush

lochia, mine lasted till 5 and weeks ish then at 6 weeks my period came and is just finishing now 2 weeks later!!!!

OrangeBlossom2 · 30/11/2013 14:16

Have a lovely time roofio

MrsAFlowerpot · 30/11/2013 16:01

Enjoy Roofio Envy

xuntitledx · 30/11/2013 16:59

Wipes have been dispensed in each room of the house ;)

don'tworry - I am FREEZING!! I usually run hot but the last couple of weeks I'm really feeling it :(

Flyer747 · 30/11/2013 17:22

Baby A is hardly eating and has been like this all day. She is quite mucusy as she has a cold . Any advice would be appreciated.

GTbaby · 30/11/2013 17:53

Flyer. Saline nose drops/spray will mean she can breath properly to feed. Calpol to sooth any achy ness she may be feeling.
Tilt her crib on the head side. And lots of cuddles.

MrsHoratioNelson · 30/11/2013 18:47

Well, having felt very pleased with myself for expressing two feeds worth this week, I failed to take into account the challenge of actually getting C to take a bottle. Minor disaster so far, but DH is going to try again shortly. I'd like to go to the team christmas party later this week, so fingers crossed he gets the hang of it...

On the plus side I managed finally to get my hair cut!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 30/11/2013 18:52

Have fun roofio!
We have wipes and nappies in every room of the house too! Also have a spare change of clothes for B downstairs incase of poonami as getting ds1 upstairs is sometimes hard work- he has discovered it's quite fun to slide down stairs on your bum and now this is what stairs are for to him!
Anyone get a Christmas tree today? We got a small one in a pot for the dining room and will get the big one for the sitting room next weekend. I can't wait! I love my Christmas trees!
