Meals, I am so sorry to hear that. I do not know much about the condition.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 30/11/2013 14:55

Have a great lunch today pass.

Have a great party today chasing

The job is yours vq you are awetastic

Good news and bad news re my spa day.

I had my time In the gym sauna, steam room, jacuzzi looking at the mountains and then was told the woman who was doing my massage had just phoned in sick Sad Angry Sad . Was it over the top to turn round and nearly cry? Blush

The good news was, I got a luxary manicure even though I did smudge a nail and they have given me a £60 voucher for a treatment of my choice which I have booked for a Tuesday when the boys are in nursery in a couple of weeks. So I get to do the gym, sauna, steam room and mountain looking over jacuzzi all over again. Grin

Sophiathesnowfairy · 30/11/2013 14:56

That's rubbish meals Thanks

Sophiathesnowfairy · 30/11/2013 14:58

Oh, and I am sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea waiting for
Harry Potter to start while daddy plays with the boys outside. Not post worthy you may think. Well. I never do this ever, not since DS1 was a baby, I don't have time. So this is bloody national news worthy. Shock

PetiteRaleuse · 30/11/2013 15:15

I went to ikea. First time in years. Last time in the foreseeable future until I forget how awful it is on a Saturday afternoon

PetiteRaleuse · 30/11/2013 15:15

Sorry to hear your news Meals :(

itsnotyouitsMeals · 30/11/2013 15:59

Thanks all. Having a bit of a weepy day. Apparently it's very rare, this syndrome.

Enjoy cups of tea and days at home, all. Hug everyone tightly.

Big hugs.

PetiteRaleuse · 30/11/2013 17:08

I bought a mini Poang today all your fault . Erm, not very stable is it?

ChasingDaisy · 30/11/2013 18:08

Evening all,

I am writing this from the unstable comfort of my Poang chair in O's bedroom with a fast asleep O on my chest. It's been so long since he slept on me that I can't bear to put him in his cot yet. He's completely knackered, having missed his nap and having a fun filled party. It was a lovely day, great to see all the family again. He got far too many presents though so am going to ration them. Only one thing marred the day - my dad's dog. A daft, excitable, boisterous 2 year old black lab with a habit of jumping up at people regardless of their size. I had assumed my parents would be keeping him shut out of the way of the party. But no Hmm And he managed to injure my friend's 22 month old. Both of them were shaken up and my friend has told me that she is still in tears over it (my friend not the daughter). I feel terrible but I also feel my parents need to be more responsible dog owners.

FlouncingIsles · 30/11/2013 18:46

Big hugs meals , I am so sorry. Sad

PR it's particularly unstable when a certain small person is standing up rocking on it. So far though she hasn't managed to coup it.

Chasing glad you had a good day, but yes I agree they need to be better dog owners. Aulay gets shut away for all visitors until he has calmed down enough to not get an ASBO.

Furniture moving: I am losing the will to live. Everything has been emptied out of both bedrooms into the hall and my bedroom which are now both inaccessible and there hasn't been much more progress. And we're due at a birthday party in 45mins (read above inaccessible bedroom snippet--. On the plus side, we have relented and ordered a Dominos and my sister is amusing M. Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 30/11/2013 19:11

Evening.

Have been thinking of evil today and hoping she is ok - we haven't heard in a while.

Meals sorry to hear that, must have come as a big shock to you all xx

Sophia boo to cancelled massages, that's the best bit! But yay to extra spa sessions, sounds ideal. We have a vair expensive spa literally 2 minutes up the road, I need to find a good excuse to get myself there! I promised I would treat myself to at least a massage towards the end of mat leave, and then what with kitty-suicide-attempts and the childminder saga, massages slipped way down the list of Things To Pay For.

Chasing glad O had a good day, shame about the dog though. Labs are so bouncy, and quite strong, but have so much love to share! Too much love sometimes lol.

Isles gah, sounds like a nightmare! Dominos sounds good though.

F is in bed, for now. She has had a temp of 38 most of the afternoon, despite calpol and brufen - she's probably the illest I've ever seen her Sad. Will head on up to bed myself soon, once the electric blanket has worked its magic!

PS...we might have picked our puppy today...Blush

PurplePidjin · 30/11/2013 19:13

Party was fab, 11 dc in a big hall with toys for 2 hours. Lots of snacks (some healthier than others) and cups of tea for the grown ups. Then SIL, BIL+SIL plus all 4 cousins and I headed into town for the Christmas fair, saw the parade and the bigger cousins (6 and 8) got loads of free sweets!

In even better news, i will he dropping R off to my mum at 2pm tomorrow and collecting him at some point on Monday :o:o:o:o:o

PurplePidjin · 30/11/2013 19:16

Chasing my mate keeps her 6mo pug well clear of just R, no fucking way would a bouncy teenage lab be ok around unpredictable toddlers! Wildly unrealistic expectation Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 30/11/2013 19:17

Labs are adolescents until about four or five. They should have kept him away from the noise and excitement. I am sure he meant no harm.

I have a cat shaped hole in my life. Everyone else including the pets are so much more relaxed (she was that bad) but I am still grieving and will be for a while. I see her everywhere out of the corner of my eye and wish I could hear her hiss. But I have been reading up on her symptoms and this was inevitable. While I was growing up we lost several cats to the road or old age. It takes me ages to get over them. I thought with age I'd handle it better but I'm going softer as I get older.

Have got the advent calendar out for tomorrow.

DD1 has one of her random temperature spikes but seems well.

Ate ikea horseballs today. Gross. I did like the salmon wrap though. DD1 spikt orange juice all over herself and I didn't have a change of clothes, so we left, went to the nearest supermarket to buy her a change (ikea is a good 40km away) then went back to ikea. Am regretting not buying a grown up poang but the last two were destroyed by the dog Hmm

Forgot to buy: new cushions for the dining chairs, plastic plates for the girls. Remembered to buy big plastic boxes for toys. We are getting rid of the baby jail in the next couple of months. Then the high chair. Aibu to be excited about getting rid of baby paraphernalia and getting my living space back? I love having two toddlers so much more than having a newborn or newborn plus toddler. I know it goes so fast but despite flippant comments about how nice it was when they stayed put I much prefer the interactive mischief glint in the eye 1 year old.

YellowWellies · 30/11/2013 19:21

Meals I'm so sorry. Sad Both our Dads have Parkinson's (which is bad enough) but I confess I've never heard of that condition. I hope he gets a good treatment plan to keep him comfy and minimise symptoms for as long as possible.

We haz a graduate in our house Betsy passed her Kennel Club good canine citizen bronze award today. Including a one minute stay and not bouncing up at two strange examiners! The scousher (and pocket full of treats) has worked it's magic. Am going to put her through the rest of the scheme classes as Chasing's story has reiterated the importance of a well trained dog Sad Blush I want Jonas' pals interactions with her to lead to a positive view of dogs not a phobia or injuries.

PetiteRaleuse · 30/11/2013 19:23

soph the town down the road is a spa town. Proper outdoor mineral hot tubs and quite cheap. I have no-one to go with though :( I keep meaning to sign up for the 2 week gym trial.

pidj glad the party went well. Pugs can be tough little sods. Glad your mum is stepping up and giving you a break. Glad and a tad Envy

piggy please tell all !!!

PetiteRaleuse · 30/11/2013 19:27

My dog is not too badly behaved but when people come to the house, strangers or not, he goes into the back garden until he is calm. Otherwise he does a welcome wee on their foot.

I make exceptions when I am answering the door to an unexpected visitor. I hold him back by his collar to scare cold callers. They don't need to know he'll lick them to death before protecting us. He's big so random fruit n veg sellers (read scouts for burglars) back right off. The cat was far far scarier. She used to hiss and when they came in the house would go for them.

ChasingDaisy · 30/11/2013 19:28

Pidj am so glad you are getting a break.

There is a big history of Parkinson's in my family too, so it is something I am always aware of and worried about.

Must buy an advent calendar tomorrow. I never leave it this late.

The dog certainly meant no harm, he doesn't have a nasty bone in his body, but he managed to knock her over and push her along the floor. And not inside on the carpet either. Outside on the concrete Sad. They are far too lenient with him. He was shut away for part of the day and he was absolutely fine but they felt sorry for him so let him out Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 30/11/2013 19:29

Well done betsy!!

BigPigLittlePig · 30/11/2013 19:35

Photo on fb for you PR. The parent dogs were wonderful with F, couldn't fault them. And the puppies just all climbed over her and washed her hair. She loved it Smile

PetiteRaleuse · 30/11/2013 19:36

Dog training classes here are v cheap - €80 a year for up to two sessions a week - but no lovely certificate to work towards. My dog loved his training :)

PetiteRaleuse · 30/11/2013 19:38

Lovely pig he is v cute.

YellowWellies · 30/11/2013 19:42

Pidj awesome!!!! Enjoy some very well deserved time off. Wine

Wow when he's less of a boob monster I'd love the idea of a night off from the bear. Haha god knows when that will be - no sign of self weaning and he just doesn't take nutramigen well enough. Given he's so wee I'm happy to keep going to 18 months as I think he needs the boost and if I can have dairy once a week or fortnight I'll not feel so deprived. Other than at Christmas when I'll be silently raging watching everyone trough Quality Street and the cheese board Envy Wink .

PR I think I would be much more upset as an adult if I lost Mr Cat - he's a misanthropic geriatric but he's just a part of the household. It will get easier though and the reactions of the kids and other pets says it all.

YellowWellies · 30/11/2013 19:46

Chasing awww he was probably extra bouncy as he'd been shut away - Betsy has a keenly developed sense of "OMG am I missing out on a party??!?!?" and bounces like Tigger if she's been locked away in the garden. Hope your pal's DD is over it already x

PetiteRaleuse · 30/11/2013 19:47

Yes. DD1 is walking past the places she would hide and lash out without scrunching up her shoulders. And eating her food without fear of having to fight for it Hmm

There really is a difference. But I still miss her.
