Good morning - hope you are all bearing up under this heat. It's just pleasant here in NE Scotland.

Mrs D.

HC- hope you feel better soon.

Definately not planning any more babies, too old and got too many kids anyway! I doubt if I'd cope as I am on the verge of exhaustion with 3, particularly with ds1's special needs.... I feel I can only just give enough attention to them all as it is. I still have no periods just now and lack of inclination anyway. dh won't get the snip though so will have to be careful.

My ds1 is still not drinking properly. He's mastered the beaker but tends to drink and spit it out straight away so still getting most of his fluids from me! Any advice?

ds1 had a good birthday, went swimming and after the cake we had a little party in the evneing - just the 5 of us. I danced with my 7 year old and he's really good at it

Eulalia · 21/07/2006 08:48

Merryberry - good news on ds. Which reminds me I must get my wee one weighed again.

mrsdarcy · 21/07/2006 10:12

Glad DS1 enjoyed his birthday Eulalia.

Will catch up later. Just wanted to wish Happy Birthday (belated) to all the babies who've had their birthdays so far. A special happy birthday to Hattie who share's Bessie's birhtday!

We've been away on an extended holiday as my clever baby caught chicken pox the day before we were due to fly home! She had them all over her face and we had to extend the holiday (at the insurance companies expense)! What a clever baby!

hoxtonchick · 22/07/2006 11:06

well done bessie . hope she's better now.

merryberry · 25/07/2006 13:02

flying visit. eulalia, ds used to go fft-th and spray everywhere after a mouthful of water from an open beaker. when i realised he was always getting a reaction (no! ew! god! etc) i got us all to take a week where we deadpanned completely when he did it but every swallow he made (even if no water still in there!) just after he got loud cheers etc. took about 5 days for the penny to drop and he drinks ok now. maybe this will help? xx

hoxtonchick · 25/07/2006 16:24

dd walked 4 steps today

mrsdarcy · 25/07/2006 17:23

Eulalia · 27/07/2006 08:17

Whoops sorry forgot to say Happy Birthday Dulcie. (Yesterday now) How are you Daf?

Bagpuss30 · 27/07/2006 09:09

Excellent news mrsd .

HC, how exciting! There will be no stopping her now!

Happy Birthday Dulcie from us too .

Eulalia, I had a quick read of your thread last night. I'm sorry you had such a tough time, it was really unfair on you and your ds.

Were OK here, just enjoying the first week of the school holidays and not having to run around like a headless chicken in the mornings.

DiamondsAreForever · 27/07/2006 13:19

Hello all- and very happy birthdays to the babes I have missed!
Dulcie had a marvellous birthday yesterday, we took her swimming in the local park where they have a paddling pool- she looked amazing in her new pink swimming costume with built in nappy! Then we had a look at the park's goats, deer and bunny rabbits- lots of pointing and shouting by our little one!
We have a party planned for family on Sunday and I have gone mad on this website: www.partydelights.co.uk- I bought her the elastic fabric pink tiara which I must say looks super cute!
I am now gearing myself up to baking a huge cake for her party- but being up the duff I can't be bothered. I wish I'd gone to Sainsburys!
The little boy is doing well- all results now back and we're in the clear. He has started to wriggle already and I am really obviously pregnant- I get offered seats on the bus already and I'm only 4 months! I think he's going to be enormous- unless it's all this meat I'm eating...

Anyway, lovely to see webwoman posting and pinkmama too.

and good news Belo with your extended holiday!

mrsdarcy · 27/07/2006 19:47

Happy Birthday Dulcie . DaF, I didn't realise this one was a boy. Congratulations!

And I'm very impressed with Bessie's timing, Belo!

DD has a big scrape on her poor nose. She dive-bombed off a chair and landed flat on her face. We both got such a fright but she's fine now.

ds2's flower has bloomed just in time hydrangea I got him last year just after he was born.

MrsD - aw poor thing. ds is just the same with bumps and bruises.

Bagpuss30 · 29/07/2006 14:47

Happy Birthday Paul .

mrsdarcy · 29/07/2006 20:47

Happy Birthday Paul. What a lovely idea, to plant something for him.

Eulalia · 30/07/2006 19:30

Yes ds1 has roses from the garden and dd always has masses of daffodils.

Yesterday was lovely - morning was presents, then lunch and cake then swimming in the outdoor pool then straight onto a family meal at a Greek restaurant (also to celebrate ds1 and 2 of my sisters bds). They put on happy birthday and brought a cake through for Paul and I had tears in my eyes! He was brilliant the whole day.

Poor dd is a bit put out though with her brothers birthdays being so close and all the presents. I got her a few things but its not the same. She made friends with some women having a hen party at the next table and got balloons and bubbles.

Belo · 01/08/2006 08:28

Happy Birthday Paul & Dulcie. Sorry, keep being late. I like the idea of planting something.

It sounds like you had a brilliant day for Paul Eulalia.

DiamondsAreForever · 01/08/2006 16:30

Hi again everyone- happy birthday to Paul!
I think that's everyone now, isn't it?
We had a fabulous birthday party on Sunday, after forecasts of rain all week it was dry and sunny all day- so we had lots of fun in the garden with pass the parcel and lots of lovely food. I did make a cake and made an icing sugar Dulcie to sit on the top- it looked a bit strange but she loved it! I wish I could post some photos for you all to have a good laugh at!
So, the little girl had her first taste of chocolate and I think she may now be ruined forever, just like her mummy. She is now on her holidays with my parents and dh and I are catching up on sleep, tax credits and bills. What fun! Can't wait for her to come home- I miss her enormously.
We have decided to leave the big smoke too as we want to be like The Good Life- so I am busy putting together proposals for working from home- I won't mention the fact that I will go to 'work' in my pyjamas or anything but I am dreaming about it! So fingers crossed that they say yes.
How is everyone doing on the food front? dd eats anything, I feel so lucky! What are favourite foods at the moment?

mrsdarcy · 01/08/2006 19:44

Where are you hoping to move to DaF? You're from Wales originally aren't you? Will you go back there or stay closer to London?

DD is a pretty good eater. She doesn't eat huge quantities but she tries and likes most things. She loves apricots and I give her lots of cream cheese on breadsticks/bread when I can't be bothered to do anything else.

OP posts:
Eulalia · 03/08/2006 16:02

Yes my little one was the last one to be one! Bit of a mouthful that!

DaF - how exciting. I love living in the country. We had 2 young deer in the garden a couple of nights ago.

Got ds weighed and he's crept up their blimming charts and is now 19lbs 3oz. He stood on his own for a few seconds today but won't beat his sister on walking (12.5 months). ds1 was 15 months.

Food - well he's finally started eating more although more picking at this and that rather than proper meals. He loves peas, haricot beans and raisins and little pieces of chopped meat.

bagpuss30 · 03/08/2006 16:11

Ds2 is mainly loving toast and diarolyte atm (he's ill). Has some sort of tummy bug but is bearing up now. Normally is quite good at food though and eats whatever really.

Daf, glad you are OK. Good luck with moving house too. We live on the outskirts of a small town and have countryside on the doorstep really but are also close to the city centre too. Best of both worlds and I would never want to change it. oh, congrats on the boy too .

Eulalia · 03/08/2006 16:11

Oh and I have abandoned the spoon altogether. Bad mummy maybe?! I just didn't have time to sit with him with the other two making demands. He eats everything with his fingers. Trouble is I should really start giving him yoghurt now so back to the spoon again I suppose. I am just so glad that he is eating anything at all.
