Well done pumpkin you know what I think and you know where we are x

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 09:23

That's a huge step pumpkin sending hugs, whether he is a prick or not it must still be hard and have been a hard decision to make. We are here when/if you need us x

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2013 09:24

Pennie I am intrigued by the airport bottle.

Horrendous night of vomit. We were still undecided if it was a bug or not, until DD2 asked what was dripping from his Highchair. Diarrhoea like I have never seen. Considering the amount of gaviscon he is on, that left us with no doubt. I guess that explains the undigested food of the previous night. It comes to something when you cannot tell if your baby has a gastric bug or not.

My boss just phoned to say I should have phoned her as I am off.I asked her if she had checked her mobile and she apologised. I also pointed out that her office phone did not have a facility for leaving messages. It felt good.

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2013 09:30

Wow Pumpkin. Big hugs x

Pikz · 07/11/2013 09:42

Pumpkin how you feel about him aside that is a hard and brave decision to make. Massive hugs xxx

VQ just huge huge hugs. Bugger off illness bugger off x

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 09:54

Poor J vq I just wish these bloody illnesses would fuck off and leave him alone. I hope it passes quickly x

YellowWellies · 07/11/2013 10:18

Big hugs to VQ that nearly made me lose my breakfast and Thanks to Pumpkin. You're so much more savvy than me it took me til I was 25 to make that decision. My sister's husband has a similarly Neanderthal view on earnings - it's the reason he won't support her decision to do medicine. I think it may ultimately split them up too - it just suggests that he's not viewing them as a team, which when you've given up years to raise his kids - sucks. Deep down I think it's a realisation that she's cleverer than him and related to petty egotism. Big hugs and if you need anything please shout. Wish you'd popped into my sisters yesterday xx

I'm thinking J's cough might actually be post jags reflux - he's food avoiding very shriekily too, but then that could be teeth. But then he's got a temperature. Ah feck it Hmm .

We are having a quiet day. He's too coughy for swimming. So I'm going to join the library with him, go for a long walk along the coast and tidy the house ready for the cleaner tomorrow. I'm 35 tomorrow but I think I'm more excited about having a cleaner!!!!

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 10:33

I think 10-15 days post jags is the worst time yw . It's when the immune system is working hard so any issues and temperature happens then. LO's rash started at 9 days post mmrv. I have a very muddy dog. We only walked a couple of miles but he was straining at the leash the entire time and when off lead headed for mud baths. So glad I didn't clean already.

pumpkin both my nasty exes hated the fact I was independent financially. I remember getting a job in the City in London and my XP was furious at me wearing suits, heels and nicking corporate brollies. Couldn't get us back to Paris and my low paid teaching work fast enough. Still managed to leave him though. What he hated the most is that in London it was a graduate job, with huge potential, international travel and I was only 19 and no degree. It was very flukey, but dull with lots of client arse licking and meals out. He had a post grad engineering degree and we were earning the same and a few years down the line I'd, judging by my contemporaries, be living the high life now. But I am happier than he will ever be, though back in the world of finance, for now. Will have to do a fb update soon.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 10:34

vq Flowers for the d&v and :o at setting your boss right. Mine has laid a trap for me but I am, as ever, several steps ahead Wink

ChasingDaisy · 07/11/2013 10:48

Well done Pumpkin x

Thankfuls:

XMIL for looking after O so I could rest and recover.
Parents for bringing me supplies and taking me to pick up O later.
Friends both those I am and not in love with for keeping me same
Norovirus for curing my Costa addiction. Turns out that if it is the last thing you eat/drink before vomiting for 48 hours you kinda lose the taste for it...Hmm

So I feel a bit more human after a good nights sleep and a shower. Only eaten 3 rice cakes and a bagel in 48 hours but off to Tesco to stock up on chicken noodle soup and buy fish fingers for Oscar's tea tonight. Then off to collect my boy Smile

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2013 11:03

Sorry YW Grin

Chasing, I never thought I would ever read about you being thankful for XMIL. Are you sure you are not still delirious?

Today I am thankful two of my kids are well, and that I was brave enough to put my baby's welfare ahead of my clients.

ChasingDaisy · 07/11/2013 11:06

Grin VQ

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 11:07

chasing glad you're feeling so much better. Enjoy being reunited with O and building your strength back up. Now is the time you can indulge cravings.

Lily311 · 07/11/2013 11:33

pumpkin I'm glad you had a clear moment. Sending you strength. X

pr I hate my boobs. I was 32d before pregnancy now 32f. Nothing fits me properly because of them. I hate it.

I am thankful that O is in a brilliant mood so her relatives can feel sorry for not being in her life more often. Also for chocolate which saves my sanity this week.

Thechick · 07/11/2013 11:42

My goodness, there is a lot going on with you guys. Hope sickness goes away very quickly, it looks like some have had more than their fair share. Well done Pumpkin you know it's the right thing.

It's my 40th birthday today!! It feels really surreal but my life is in a perfect place. I have an amazing husband, 2 beautiful children. A job I enjoy (most of the time) with a boss and colleagues who respect me. I have my health and my children and husband have their health. I have a roof over my head and have both my parents and a grandparent. I know any of these things could change at any time so I feel very lucky to be living the life I'm living right now.

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 11:46

Happy 40th chick have a lovely day x

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 11:59

chick happy birthday, lovely to hear such a positive happy post.

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2013 12:02

Happy birthday Chick. You are indeed blessed.

Zamboni · 07/11/2013 12:19

Happy 40th thechick

And happy birthday to anyone's babies that I have missed. Cant believe it is a year. I had a flick through some of the old threads. Nostalgic.

Boo for weirdness on the thread. Love all of you. Never mean to offend anyone, am happy to be told if I have. Flouncing makes me sad. Adore swearing.

Pumpkin you are very brave. Let us all support you on the next stage. FWIW, I have never looked at a friend's husband the same way after he admitted that he couldnt handle it if she earned more than he did. I just thought it was a very twatty thing to say. And makes me grateful for DH, for whom it has never been an issue, and who simply tells me sometimes he wishes that he could take from me the burdern of responsibility that being the main earner brings when I find it overwhelming.

chasing glad you are feeling better and well done for letting people help you. Not always easy to do that.

S had his one year check today. He's exactly 12 months, 79cm long and weighs 24.8lbs which is 91st centile for both, up from around 50th for both. All fine I guess, my boy is tall but in proportion. DH was there not me as I am extremely busy at work at the moment. All manageable though .

S is exactly the age that DD was when I conceived him. I've also had AF on his first b'day, as I did with DD. I like the idea of an identical age gap. But. But. But. But. All the practical reasons. I cannot afford it. I cannot afford another 6 months off work. But. But. But. am so tempted to have a sort of russian routlette shag in 2 weeks and see what happens. There's a v good chance as DD was unplanned and S was first cycle.

Oh and S has his jabs later. Reading your experiences am so not looking forward to the effects.

YellowWellies · 07/11/2013 12:27

We had a Russian roulette shag last night. I love the term Zamboni. DH remarked afterwards with a Smile that he reckons it is going to updiff me. I doubt I'll ovulate this month given the broken nights. It would be sooner than we'd like but we ran out of condoms Blush .

Pikz · 07/11/2013 12:34

Happy 40th the chick!

Sophia hope you are not melting under the buttercream!

I would like a Russian roulette shag but no til may. DP doesn't want a preggers bride and it would be a waste of the dress hanging upstairs!

Donnadoon · 07/11/2013 12:41

Yay chick happy birthday Flowers Wine Cake Smile

Zamboni · 07/11/2013 12:46
