fruit sorry to hear that. The abs should work quickly and you'll no doubt see an improvement by this time tomorrow Flowers

Erm, karaoke. I used to do karaoke when i lived in London but after one attempt in Paris I stopped - they take it so seriously there - not drunken fun but serious talent.

I liked doing Abba songs and Cher's it's in his kiss. But mainly Abba. The first Bridget Jones film came out when i was in London and me and a friend used to murder All By Myself when drunk. It was funny to us we weren't fans

Kyz · 06/11/2013 21:57

Lol det well e was a strange one! Avoided even looking at his presents and ignored my attempts at helping him to unwrap them until I had a cuppa and he casually strolled (wobbled a full 16 steps) over and began opening them himself. He opened them all and inspected them one by one and then left them all and took his remote into the hall to sing into it! He got a build a bear and didn't play with it but sat it beside himself and got cross when we moved him! He got a pushchair and pushed his shoes around in it but is adamant the bear does not belong in it!

He loved seeing family and friends and has been a right giggle. When handed a present at one point he handed it back exclaiming 'ta' and then clapping :) he has made me read what the ladybird heard a dozen times after getting it this morning too.

And to be different, he didn't care for paper or boxes!

I can't wait for his party but I have so bloody much to do. I have made lots of hungry caterpillar paper chains today. Tomorrow I make the toppers for the jellies. Hope you're all prepared to be bombarded by pics on Saturday!!!

He can say shoe today :) and keeps saying is. If I take the remote/ keys/phone and say it's not yours Eric he says 'IS' very loudly and matter of fact like!

Bless her fruit hope she's better soon!

Hope you feel better too In the morning chasing

Hmm gt don't blame bf'ing for being snappy and tired. Well, I wouldn't put it in top place anyway. Bf or not the first 6-8 weeks are hormonal and tiring and you are under a lot of stress. I would freak if someone threw out my washing up gloves in fact won't wash anything up or clean anything without them. I love my rubber gloves

PetiteRaleuse · 06/11/2013 22:02

Qq to those of you with older children. DD1 has been potty trained since April and went through a phase of being really interested in the contents of the potty, though not touching them. Normal right? Anyway that phase passed, and today she did her wee then stood up, out her hands in it and sucked on her fingers. Ie tasted her own wee. I was grossed out, explained that wee is gross and if she is thirsty she can drink anything but wee. Which she found amusing. Is this something they all try out at some point? Any tips? I nearly vommed when I realised what she was doing.

Passmethecrisps · 06/11/2013 22:26

Posho cheese on toast = grated cheese mixed with waitrose bath pig (salami) and topped with black olives.

Karaoke. Hmm. Oh! I should really do this

fruitpastilles · 06/11/2013 22:34

Think the abs have started working already, her temp is right down now from what it was and I have just successfully transferred her to her cot which is an improvement in itself!

I only do karaoke abroad on holiday as a rule, think of the worst singer you can think of, I am a million times worse. I do ub40 cherry oh baby with my cousins or Avril lavigne skater boi if I'm forced to do it alone.

Aww kyz sounds like E has had a lovely day, I can't wait to see the party pics.

chasing hope you are feeling better.

Hugs to all the other poorly babies and charlee congrats on the bfp.

There is loads more I have read but I can't remember now, sorry if I have missed out something important.

I'm in bed trying to watch step brothers without laughing loudly so I don't wake dp, 'tis proving difficult.

fruitpastilles · 06/11/2013 22:36

Haha pass didn't you used to sing that to p when he wouldn't take her bottle? Or have I completely made that up?

fruitpastilles · 06/11/2013 22:37

She not he. Stupid phone.

Passmethecrisps · 06/11/2013 22:45

That's right!

"Put it in your mou-outh
Yo mutha fucking mou-outh"

When she was fussing with bottles.

Passmethecrisps · 06/11/2013 22:46

And pr I would rate tasting own piss in the same category as bogie eating. Rank but in some way necessary

GTbaby · 06/11/2013 23:07

Yeah! Bil dropped off their old baba sling. Looks alot easier for quick around the house carrying compared to caboo, which I think will be better for short walks.

Elizadoesdolittle · 06/11/2013 23:18

lily I can understand why you feel the way you do. But O is a link to Leo for them. It must be quite hard for them. You have her 24/7. She's all yours. They just want to spoil her and shower her with kisses. It's all with love. Sorry they got there before you with the locket. They probably thought you'd appreciate it. Hope the next couple of days pass quickly for you x

Re karaoke. I think it's the worst thing ever till I'm very drunk and then you can't get the mike off me! Went to lucky voice once which was great as I could sing screech to my hearts content without the general public humiliation. I did once win £10 singing a duet of summer lovin with my boss at my works xmas do!

yw I used to smoke 20 a day. I gave up in 2004. I'm sometimes tempted but I know if I had one drag of a fag I'd be back to 20 a day. So it's just the occassional bit of passive smoking for me now!

kyz Sounds like E had a wonderful birthday.

E hasn't put on any weight which I was really surprised at as I feel she's bulked out. But on the flip side she hadn't lost any so is still following the 2nd centile. All fine for the mo.

GTbaby · 06/11/2013 23:53

I love co sleeping with A. He falls asleep on my boob with his hand/arm kinda hugging my boob. Looks so darn cute.

Pr I must correct myself. Mil didn't throw them out. She hung them on washing line. However as I haven't been here a month they have now basically disintegrated.

This has been an on going battle since I moved in. She hates them. Kept putting them outside (??) they would get wet so I could use them. FH n I argued about it. Then one day he felt how rough my hands had got. He explained to her I needed them. FH has added it to his shopping list.

Shit that so many of u/babies are poorly. Sending get well vibes sleep dust and choc n wine to all x

YellowWellies · 07/11/2013 04:30

Eliza I'm the same with the fags - never going to manage 'the odd one' I always end up like Patsy off Ab Fab!! Grin Also I meant to say something similar to Lily - it must be v hard having them around Thanks even if their intentions are good.

First 8 hour stint of sleep since the MMR. Thank feckity feckity feck Smile I should have gone to bed when he did but meh 5.5 hours straight was still fab. He's got a cough now Confused so no swimming tomorrow. You're not meant to give them cough medicine at this age are you (despite what the cough medicine manufacturers say on the boxes) anything else good for shifting a mucousy cough? Hmm

YW get some baby Vick on the bottom of his feet. We are atill trying to shift ours but it is getting better.

After weeks of illness and shit sleep from both of us. I make no apology for the fact we got 7.30-7.10. I honestly thought I'd set my clock the wrong way round so it said 17.10 and therefore was 5am.

He has just polished off a huge bowl of porridge with raspberries and blueberries, a slice of toast and 3 rice cakes with half a pint of water. Clearly good sleep equals hunger.

Who's birthday is today?

YellowWellies · 07/11/2013 08:21

Pennie a mere (!)13 nights after the jags we got a night of 9.5 hours sleep (with a twenty minute feed in the middle). I feel amazing! It does end...

Jonas is celebrating by setting off EVERY noisy toy in the lounge..... Envy

YellowWellies · 07/11/2013 08:22

Pikz awesome - you deserved that! Ta for the tip Smile xx

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 08:59

Is it not soph's lo's birthday today? Or is it tomorrow? If today happy birthday x

Thankful Thursday. I am thankful that red bull was not the migraine trigger. This morning so far I have dropped the girls off, popped into the nearest town to pick up some cheapo xmas presents, got cash, paid the baker my monthly bill, done a load of laundry and am about to go on a long dog walk.

Then once the dog is dry and brushed off from his walk I am going to clean the floors which are so dirty that LO gets dirty clothes from crawling on them.

I am thankful also for antihistamines, and for this lovely quiche.

yw for the cough a steamy bathroom, vicks on the feet, a humidifier, raised mattress so sleeping with head above the rest and nasal spray to try and stop it going down into the lungs. ANd fresh air of course but you get plenty of that. And there are some cough medecines but always check with the doctor. Some say they can't be used under two/six but the manufacturers are covering their arses - a Dr will be able to pick a harmless one and prescribe a safe dose. But only if it gets no better.

Elizadoesdolittle · 07/11/2013 09:05

pikz so pleased for you.

yw I also do Vicks on the feet but I do give E tixylix syrup too. Not sure how much good it does but everyone she gets a cough her sickness increases so I try everything I can to sooth her/make it go away. In fact she seems to have woken with another cough today. Still she's been well for 4 days, couldn't expect it to last a full week could I!

chasing hope you managed a good nights rest.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/11/2013 09:05

pr almost. Is tomorrow. Owl cake making full steam ahead. Why on earth did I decided to do that? The first half of the spere didn't cook all the way through, was definitely not a good bake. So had to start again. Now all I have to do is ice it Hmm.............

PumpkinIsles · 07/11/2013 09:08

My moment of clarity yesterday made me realise a lot. (X)P is furious that I am now earning more than him and has threatened to quit his job. So I have quit him. For good this time I think

Yes, he had been making a real effort lately. I almost believed things could work out! But alas, deep down he is still the same selfish prick.

I am not sad, just relieved. And I now have the financial security I didn't when I first thought about it in July another month or two to save would have been nice but hey ho

Prick.

PumpkinIsles · 07/11/2013 09:08

And I have a hangover Envy

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 09:13

I manage the odd fag. DH still smokes Hmm so I smoke the odd one last thing at night maybe twice a week. There are cigarettes in the house but I don't smoke on my own, or when the girls are up, or after my evening shower. I'd guess I smoke three or four in a week. Which is too many but I've pretty much cut out alcohol other than wine two or three glasses a week, coca cola, and don't drink coffee or tea. I've also massively cut down on junk food in general. So I am allowing myself the odd fag.

Ooh I did a plank the other day. Ow. Not a good idea on wooden floors. So hae bought a yoga mat, and aim to do plank exercises to rebuild up those abs and stop my bum in its tracks before it droops so much it starts dragging along the floor behind me picking up mud A friend of mine has done some fitness videos based on planks on youtube and I want my figure back. . I have 6kg to lose to get down to 53kg. Does anyone know how to lose weight from boobs? I hate mine they are so huge and heavy for my back and I am seriously considering getting them reduced. I didn't mind having big boobs when they were all perky but getting them into even a well fitting bra feels like stuffing toothpaste back into a tube, and they always pop out during the day and i get self conscious. And my bras were fitted by someone who used to do the Queen Mum's bras (has a shop near BLS vq if you're interested) so I assume she knows what she is talking about. I'm a 32 F and i want to be a 32 C max. B preferably.

Woo look at that Red Bull making me all chatty. Right, off for a walk.
