YW I a very impressed you ran out of condoms Grin

FatimaLovesBread · 07/11/2013 13:11

Happy birthday chick

Thanks and Wine pumpkins Tough decision to make but you'll be fine, you're fab!!

There was talk of books the other day, I love reading although dont have much chance at the moment. After seeing books mentioned on the thread I decided I'd start a one. Only a chick lit but it's called chasing daisy obviously inspired by you chasing Grin

We've had an odd few days. I had a day off on Tuesday as the CM was ill. Got a knock on the door at 3pm, it was the police! Shock they were trying to locate the old lady that lives next door. A woman comes to do her cleaning every tues and there was no sign, curtains closed, milk still out etc. they wondered if I had a spare key which I didn't. In the end they had to break the door down.
They found her in her bedroom Sad Not sure how long she'd been there but DH thinks the lights were on the night before.
I'm going to drop a card through later for her family when they next come, do you think that will be ok?

ChasingDaisy · 07/11/2013 13:26

Fatima that's the book my username was inspired by Grin I love all her books!

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 13:45

Yes fatima I think a card would be appropriate. Did you know her well?

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 13:51

fatima that's so sad, I hope she wasn't there for long. I think a card would be very much appreciated.

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 14:02

Am I right in thinking antib's cause runny nappies? S had diahorrea all last week and it has just cleared up, but she has just had 2 runny nappies, is it likely to be the abs rather than a continuation of last week?

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2013 14:06

Yes fruit. Also watch out for thrush both ends.

Fatima a card is appropriate I think.

J kept two bottles down but has vommed twice since waking from his nap on me. I am broken.

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 14:09

Thanks vq I did not know about the thrush.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 14:17

Gah, amoxycillin poos :( and thrush :( horrible memories, but.... Better than ear infections :)

vq where are you with the paed referral?

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 14:41

Yep, I'll take sharting over an ear infection any day of the week.

FatimaLovesBread · 07/11/2013 15:08

I knew her as well as you know a neighbour really. We've lived here three years but don't cross paths too often as normally she's out and about when we're at work. But our back yards join on so we sometimes chat when I'm hanging washing out or DH is smoking outside. She used to take my Next deliveries for me Smile
I hope she wasn't there for long, our bedrooms share a wall so I was worried she'd have been trying to get help but I didn't sleep much Monday night and I didn't hear anything.
We normally hear her pottering about and watching tv in the evenings.

chasing I wondered if it was, I started it Tuesday night and finished it today. I want a Luis Grin I know some people hate chick lot but I like books that are easy reading but draw you in. I might look for some of her other books.

Wine and hugs vq

Ergh ear infections! I hate them Sad

Any ideas where I can get M a birthday cake that doesn't cost a fortune? She'll probably need two.
And banners and balloons that aren't bloody pink.
What started as a simple birthday isn't looking that way anymore

Pikz · 07/11/2013 16:09

Fatima I think a card is lovely

My dinosaur bum long johns arrived. It's ok to dress a going to be 1 year old in just tights because they are so cool even though he's the size of a 3 year old right?? Grin

ChasingDaisy · 07/11/2013 16:30

Chick lit is about all I read Fatima. I read to escape and chick lit fits the bill. I do sometimes read a bit of Dickens too - I loved Little Dorrit on TV a few years ago and love the book now too. I can be quite snobby about certain things in life but books aren't one of them Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 16:51

I'm not snobby about books either. I'll read anything from high brow to free kindle trash. Except Shakespeare. I don't like reading stuff in dialect either, be that made up or actual.

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 17:05

I have just seen someone on another thread called fruitpastille Hmm I don't know why this bothers me.

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2013 17:17

Fruit I am surprised the name was allowed. I understand why that would bother you x

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2013 17:18

Nothing from Paeds yet PR.

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2013 17:19

Yes Pikz. That is fine to do that. When they can say no, it is no longer fine.

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 17:22

Fruitpastille may well have been on here for longer, I have only been registered since having S, but I think I'd have picked a different nn had I known there was one so similar. Feeling a nc coming on. Is there any way of checking who was first, just out of curiosity?

Pikz · 07/11/2013 17:25

Vtech walkers £12 on amazon if anyone is looking for one.

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2013 17:29

Try a search of their posts going back longer than you have been here. There are a few in the Valium family and we wave when we meet, but that is too close, as I would think it was you Smile

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 17:31

Envy at the uk bargains.

PurplePidjin · 07/11/2013 17:38

Happy birthday chick

Vvvdp witnessed The First Steps this morning

Lily311 · 07/11/2013 17:43

I survived another day, they are leaving tmrw. They had tons of tears, they think O is awesome and will miss her. I'm glad finally it's drowning on them that they have a little relative who is just like her daddy. It took them a year to realise but thanks fuck they did.

O bumped her head in the bath, I'm glad I still have her movement monitor but will check on her later.

And bought next seasons theatre tickets, social life here I come. Crawl. Whatever:).

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 17:43

That's great pidj DD1 did her first steps at the CM and LO takes a couple but only at nursery Hmm I think I saw her try to take her first steps but she tried and failed :o
