Had a lovely buffet at work today for Halloween and ate far too much! I've been good though by going to the gym!

I'm upping the gym to 4 x a week this week! Seeing results on my legs, hips and arms which are losing fat and looking more toned but my tummy is another story! I'm enjoying it a lot at the moment, great stress buster. DH is being very supportive and he is happy to get DS to bed etc., whilst I disappear in the evenings! I've given up my Saturday morning lie in for weights ;-)

Sorry for bit name checking, I need to go back and catch up on the thread again!

Ha- I wouldn't worry Chip, as it was a leaving do yesterday, I ate my very sensible butty and banana, followed by two slabs of cake, two large glasses of wine, big chips, and a burger when I got home. It's a sign of age that I still had indigestion today Blush!

How are you feeling now Queenie, are you comfy?

And Xiao, how's it going with DS2, are you and he OK?

I've sort of reached the end of the week, but have to attend a conference tomorrow, so up at 6am and out of the door at 7.15am, sigh... Hope you've all got better weekends planned?!

figgy we didn't bother with costumes either for the dds and I was pleased to see that it was very much the right call as when a guiser came to our door, dd2 was shrieking in terror so definitely not into Halloween. hopalong I saw your post on Facebook, did he like it before Halloween and was just not in the mood?

We're looking after the GPS' dog this weekend. We went for a walk in the woods next to the house (first time). Boi kept searching for the big bad mouse from the Gruffalo's Child. Grin

hi all! Cute pics aethel

Well I am in airport waiting for flight home. Conference was v useful and paper went well (altho was a bit odd presenting in French when in Germany) and had lovely time visiting my lovely friends. Also fab to speak German again as I rarely get the opportunity. War ja toll. Had some lovely chats/meals/drinks with my friends and some interesting/useful chats at the conference. As I said to Mr. Mopsy, if I am going to be away for so long it had better be either useful or fun and I got a bit of both. I am DYING to see Mr. and Minimopsy though! Got minim the cutest German stuffed toy elephant and Mr. Mopsy some fab looking German gin made in a tiny distillery in Munich.

Hope all well with everyone and that the minimes are cute in their Hallowe'en outfits!

mopsy glad you had a good time.

Hope xiao is just busy and DS2 is ok.

New kitchen is finished for those not on fb group and is amazing, so happy with it.

Today I have turned old manky pears into pear crumbles for the freezer, and cut head and arm holes into a big box, DS and DD1 have been running around being robots.

I'm ready for sleep and it's only 6.20pm!

Busy day today with body pump class this morning and then an afternoon and the local soft play centre with DS and DH!

I'm glad the trip went well Mopsy!

That's very cute Oi!

The kitchen looks lovely Seven. On the subject of leftover fruits DS has decided bananas are not the greatest thing in the world so I'm making banana and chocolate muffins tomorrow!

I am drinking gin DS has been obnoxious all day we have had massive tantrums all day on top of tv-itis and ipad-itis. took him out this morning to run round the arboretum fell asleep in car for 10 mins woke up when we got home and whinged endlessly. He did briefly watch some star wars this afternoon. At least with him not sleeping he's in bed by 7 every night.

Was supposed to go fireworks tonight but weather is horrific so said bugger it. Watching salmon fishing in the Yemen for a Ewan mcgregor fix.

Today will be better.

Hope u home now mopsy

figgy slug back that gin. Whining is the worst.

Oi that is adorable! Very impressed with bOi's jigsaw skills, and we had 'Sandy doggie sandy doggie' all the way home in the car on Friday.

Chip well done on the body pump class.

Went to the Christening of a friend's baby today (well, I did, DH ran around the park with DS during the ceremony). He bombed round th reception, sneaking cakes off the buffet and generally being adorable. Had a meltdown when I held the baby though. We're off swimming tomorrow, since the weather is so poo. And I'm going to try out my new slow cookers with a beef stew and dumplings (or I will be after a trip to Tesco. Sent DH to the shop for suet and he came back with vegetable lard. Hmm.) Tonight we're going to cuddle up and eat cheese on toast while watching Who Framed Rodger Rabbit.

Not great evening yesterday. Minim wouldn't go to sleep and get bawling for mama. Not surprising after I was away all week. eventually just went to bed with her and had a surprisingly good night. She slept like a log when she eventually went to sleep around half ten!

Can anyone recommend some reading about potty training......books or online feel woefully under prepared for it and DS keeps wanting his nappy changed after every wee. He holds his nappy and says wee wee then drags me off to his changer obviously can't afford that many nappies so how do I encourage him to tell me he needs to go rather than after he has weed.

DS has his final 2 bottom teeth coming saw them shining through earlier think we in for trouble with them based on his behaviour again today.

Good points of day went to garden centre and found DS now perfect age for their little softplay he can get all over it by himself as its designed for smaller kids and it has a sensible slide. £1.50 a go I think We will be there a lot over winter months. Bad points more whining and refusing to share, had to take him home early from a play date as he and his 3yo chum fought over every toy.

Work tomorrow Blush

Figgy - sounds like he's getting ready! I can't recommend any books or anything, and have no experience, but maybe just ask him fairly regularly if he wants a wee - would he like to use the potty? ...

sorry to hear that Oi. fx it works this month for you. how are things going with DH.

I stopped taking the Prozac at the weekend it was making me feel spaced out and not good with the girls when DH is working or away.

so am reading books to help my anxiety and ocd.

woke up feeling sick, tired & achy so the usual for me.

however, good feeling is back to school today for Darcie but nursery shut for Sky as training day.

OiMissus · 04/11/2013 09:07

Things between DH and I are improving. There's hope yet.
As for the Prozac - I know nothing, but it may just be a short term reaction until your body gets used to it. I was once diagnosed as having an under active thyroid and prescribed levothyroxine. For the first 2 weeks I was really aggressive and short tempered, but then I was ok. Shock
(After 6 months I got bored if taking tablets and do stopped. My thyroid righted itself - much to the disgust of doctors who assured me that it absolutely would never work properly again and that these drugs were for life. Throughout pg I was tested every couple of months. They are determined to find it not working!) that's by the by, but back to the point. Drugs make you feel weird for a while, but then might get everything rebalanced again. (And if you did stop taking them somewhere down the line, your body may realise that there's something missing and buck its ideas up by itself!) Smile

I'd probably check out amazon on the potty training books Figgy I find the reviews on there really helpful.

We've also got a new soft play thing at a nearby fish place and a cafe! It's a good way to spend a rainy day, DS loves looking at the fish, and then I have a coffee whist DH watches DS!

We've just joined up with a direct debit for the local soft play centre, it's £10 a month which I think is pretty good and it's huge, we can easily spend a couple of hours in there!

Queen don't know much about medicines! but I think with stopping antidepressants you are meant to be weaned off them slowly under the dr's advice? It's probably best to see the dr again and see what they advise, another medicine or a different dosage might be needed?

Hop that sounds delicious! I love beef stews, hope it turned out well! DM bought me a slow cooker last Christmas and they're so handy especially with toddlers underfoot!

Mopsy hope things are a bit more settled now. Must have been lovely to get back home :)

Oi fingers crossed! I'm sure it will happen soon enough!

I've spoilt my efforts at the gym by eating two homemade banana muffins....whoops!

DS has another tooth finallllllly! I'm just waiting for another one to cut through rand then I think we deserve a break from the teething grumps!

Hi all, I'm new to the thread.
Figgy, we have been potty training for as couple of months and have about 2 accidents a day and only wear nappy for bed, rest of the time it's pants. We just had time in house as nappy off and reminders every 20 mins until he got the idea.
Queeny, I have anxiety too and I'm in ad, tried to cold turkey before and felt like a 3 week hangover!
I'd love ds to run about in soft play but he will barely leave my side in that sort of environment. Anyone else have that problem?

I am in love with the slow cooker. Dinner was lovely and there was so much left we're having it again today. Foe ffuture reference though, dumplings get bigger when you cook them. That was a bit of a surprise to me.

Welcome faerie

We're miles away from potty training. He likes to use the toilet before his bath but he would happily sit in his own poo all day if he was playing.
Been to gymnastics today, ten minute cat nap in the car meant he thought he didn't need a proper nap. Spent forty five minutes coaxing him in to bed because the whiny over tired mess was giving me the grumps.

Is anyone going to fireworks tomorrow? I want to but it's after DS' s bed time and DH things it'll be too much faff.

Welcome Faerie!
You're potty training a DS?! Good on you! Boi isn't ready at all. I've had to come home today as had a cm failure. After a poop, he wanted to be nappy free. I made him solemnly swear on Mr Tumble's life (ok, not really) that if he wanted to go, he had to tell me first. Instead, after some puddle-formation, I got a "mummy, look!" Confused
So faerie, tell us more, if you can. About you, DS, where you are, etc...

Aethelfleda · 04/11/2013 16:21

Hi, fairie!

oi, I know you have super-efficient ovaries but give the poor things a chance, they are probably too speedy for the sperm to catch 'em! I recommending knitting some teeny tiny speedos and dinky swim goggles to help things along.

Love the kitchen seven, that's just the look I would go for..

Hope you're doing OK octo

Hi faerie, yes do tell us about yourself.

Thanks aethel :)

figgy I think there's a potty training topic on MN, probably in Behaviour /Development I'd think. Easiest if you have a room with a hard floor and just let him potter about nappy free and plonk him on every now and then, if he's ready he'll soon connect the needing a wee feeling results in the puddle on the floor!

I'm not sure when to start potty training DD1. She's doing a good job of potty training herself now she's in pull-ups, does still wee in them but probably uses the potty more often. I know that means that she's ready but I'm wary of pushing it too much and taking the fun out of it. I think we'll probably go as we are and evaluate after Christmas if she's not progressing any further.
