love the haircut seven. looks fab!

Aethelfleda · 12/12/2013 07:56

Ooh yes, funky stuff seven, hope it's easy to look after.

Housework day today (oh the glamour) plus a classy visit to SportsDirect for tracky tops for the DDs. If DD2 will let me (she's a bit warm and sniffly. Hoping we'll get her to school ok)

FalalalalalalaFiggy · 12/12/2013 10:45

Working from home today forgot my laptop charger currently due to expire around 12.40 woops will have to muddle through with iPad emails this afternoon. Finishing early anyway to head home for early DS bday and Xmas with my family panto on Sunday could be "interesting". Give my parents some time with him not been up since October feels like forever ago

Aethelfleda · 12/12/2013 20:49

Hellllooooooo???

TheOnlySevenSleighbells · 12/12/2013 21:00

You survived sports direct then aethel, I only ever use them online, the shops are far too pushchair unfriendly.

Street collection today, £122.61. Not bad for 3 hours work, really snotty now though.

OiMissus · 12/12/2013 22:56

Falling way behind on lurking.
But fabulous new hair seven!! It looks great! A totally new you! X

Aethelfleda · 12/12/2013 23:00

Nope, I bailed and didn't go! dD2 has been grotty today (and I was worried they would ring me to send her homefrom school) so instead I did muchos cleaning at home.
And raked the leaves from my oak tree...
...and discovered the reason the border edge of my grass isn't growing near the hedge is that the chuffing builder decided to throw some turf over the old concrete garden path from the original house rather than removing it before doing the gardens to his new builds. What a prize twonk.

Well done on the collection seven, that's a fab total.

Right, bed time.

mopsytop · 13/12/2013 11:53

Ugh. Correcting essays is horrible. Yuck. That is all.

TheOnlySevenSleighbells · 13/12/2013 12:41

Today is brought to you by the sound of screaming children

hinkyhonk · 13/12/2013 14:54

Whoever thought a homemade present for dh was a good idea?

Over the years I've taken a load of pics of the boys on the hoof randomly and there are some lovely shots so I thought it would be a great idea to print them fairly small and then stick the to a large piece of card and frame. All very well I hear you say and I've managed to print one set of pics bit can I repeat it now?? Can I buggery no idea how I printed them last time and they have to be approx the same size.

Oh buggery just noticed I hadn't plugged the printer into the laptop Xmas Blush

TheOnlySevenSleighbells · 13/12/2013 15:42

No comment Xmas Grin

QueenofClean · 13/12/2013 16:13

Seven, love the new hair style Smile

Sky has a chest infection :( again Darcie is being very hardwork at moment and i'm tired and irritable and I think after all I do for her, I shouldn't get upset at being told I don't love her but I do Sad

anyhow, DH & I have a few hrs to ourselves for dinner and a movie. The Hobbit 2.

mopsytop · 13/12/2013 19:48

Drinking one of ginvent gins w fevertree tonic. It is called Monkey 47. It us really fab.

Minim is up in her cot singing at the top of her voice. v v v cute Smile

NorthernChinchilla · 13/12/2013 20:14

Clearly it is mopsy, with the way you're spelling complex words like 'is' Xmas Wink!!
Still so jealous, was telling my boss about it the other day and her eyes went round...she's getting one next year. Daren't tell DP!

aethel, would you believe that one of my colleagues' garden is totally unusable, as when the house, etc, was rennovated, the builders destroyed the greenhouse (which was part of the deal) but then buried it in the back garden? Now they can't let any of the nephews and nieces play out unaccompanied, and certainly not barefoot, as every time they dig, or it rains, lumps of broken glass come up.
Has DD2 been better today?

That's genius hinky, you're clearly set for a career in public sector IT Grin

Hope you enjoy a well-earned night off/out Queen.

Had a good birthday yesterday for DS, but then DP had a go at me for Skyping my Mum (long story) and I absolutely tore a strip off him, angry sobbing style. Went to bed at half 8... After various apologies I have forgiven him, but it was truly worthy of an entire salmon farm of slapping. After all the work I'd done getting DS's food, cake, presents, etc ready at such a busy time...grrrr......

Anyhow, all is well now, and we just have to work out how we're going to shoehorn picking up parcels from the PO, food shopping, Xmas present shopping, a trip to the vets, ironing, changing the beds, wrapping Xmas presents and at least one trip to the park into what's meant to be our chilled weekend Xmas Confused!

mopsytop · 13/12/2013 22:11

Ha was only after the first sip Northern! Obvs a total lightweight Smile

Aethelfleda · 13/12/2013 23:24

Ooh, monkey 47 was one of the gins at the Heston Blumenthal pub I took DH to for his birthday. It is pirchaseable online somewhere

DD2 had today off and it helped her to get a bit better, she looked peaky this morning and last night was so hot and sorry for heeself I couldn't face sending her to school. She's asleep now so cross fingers she stays in her bed and gets a good rest tonight.

Shock at the greenhouse story northern! That's shockingly bad even for a builder story....tempting to get a professional lanscaper in to clear and filter/replace the topsoil and then bill the builder via small claims court for breach of contract..... (And I'm not a litiginous type)....

Right, bed time again. One of these days we'll all get enough sleep.....

NorthernChinchilla · 14/12/2013 08:04

Hmph... between work and DS, I've been waking, naturally dammit, at half 5. I'm turning into my step Mum at this rate, I used to royally take the widdle about her ridiculously early nights and early mornings, and now I'm the same!

is now also trying not to buy Monkey 47

I'd be heartbroken if I had a garden and couldn't use it in those circumstances too; think it's just too big a garden for them to do anything about it aethel

Sooo much to do today, first call to the vets about a chinchilla with a poorly foot....

mopsytop · 14/12/2013 10:49

Oooh the ginvent gin today is saffron gin. I'll report back figgy!

In other gin-related news, Mr Mopsy is making homemade gin (I know). You infuse vodka with botanicals ... lemon peel and juniper berries and a bunch of other stuff. It doesn't get second distilled like gin normally does but it apparently works really well. So will report back next week. It takes only a week.

mopsytop · 14/12/2013 13:49

OMG Northern I have literally only this minute realised that a chinchilla is not a dog Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush

Must have been mixing it up with chihuahua Blush

I can't believe I am so thick!

TheOnlySevenSleighbells · 14/12/2013 14:19

Ha mopsy that's brilliant Xmas Grin

HopAlongOnItsOnlyChristmas · 14/12/2013 14:30

We have officially given up napping.

TheOnlySevenSleighbells · 14/12/2013 18:12

I'm getting fed up of DD1 being ill, not sure if I should be concerned. It's been nearly 3 weeks. She had an awful cold which has now gone, but she still miserable, clingy, tired and her temp has varied from 35 to 38.4. She fell asleep on the sofa, and has now gone to bed early with a high temp and an empty belly Xmas Sad

Aethelfleda · 14/12/2013 20:47

We are in pre-Christmas prep mode, but low key as both DD2 and DH are now poorly. The random cold-plus-high-temp lurgy strikes, I'm trying to avoid breathing for the next few days so I don't catch it some chance

Must send a few cards, I've been rubbish at that this year. Sadly a much loved auntie who I'd usually write to has just passed away so one less to write :( i have however written the mother of all pastiche Christmas Round Robin letters, just working out if I have the courage to send it!

FalalalalalalaFiggy · 15/12/2013 08:35

Greeting from scotland I've lost my voice and my right eye is weeping with gunk .......lovely

Had 4 hrs sleep Friday night after quite a few drinks wasn't too cool Grin not that ds woke me i was up 6.30 he woke 8....very annoying. This morming DS woke early and rather than him wake the whole house he came in with me and went back to sleep of course he's rolled over to within an inch of the edge and I'm now on watch incase he goes over its a very high bed.

As DS 2 next Sunday we having a fake bday for him today with balloons party food, cake and panto this afternoon. He has a Jessie from toy story to open as he's her current fave.

Weighed him yesterday 2stone 4lbs Shock need to get him measured for height check he's in proportion. Think some of that may be poo he's been really struggling the last couple weeks will eat apple and bananas (not the best considering) but now refusing all fruit too. Taking him
Dr next week as can't get anything over counter / unless any of you aware of something?

hinkyhonk · 15/12/2013 13:17

Dried apricots go down a treat here and get things moving. If he won't go for them I've got a chocolate and apricot flapjack recipe that might work
