Good day: Met up with xiao after some "naice" shopping today (too posh for Wilkinsons' over there! I was tempted in by the Lakeland Dr Who merchandise, bought a fabby ice cube tray for my bro and another for us where you can make little TARDIS and K9 and Dalek icecubes/chocs. Resisted the TARDIS teapot as it was v small (though cool). Why have a teapot that Doesn't Hold Enough Tea?

And now have the perrenial problem of Not enough Time and too much housework. Working laydeez, how do you all do it?

HopAlongOnItsOnlyChristmas · 26/11/2013 21:17

I live in a shit hole. That's the balance I've found.

mopsytop · 27/11/2013 07:35

I just got a cleaner aethel!

TheOnlySeven · 27/11/2013 09:09

Sorry, it was negative, I spent yesterday afternoon in a rather bad mood. AF started today.

aethel I don't work and I still struggle to find that balance.

OiMissus · 27/11/2013 09:33

Congratulations on the cleaner, Mopsy!
It's never enough. Well, my 2 hrs a week isn't enough. I try and just do 30mins a night of tidying and sorting after Boi is in bed. And that's it.
Unless visitors are expected, then I run round like a sweary headless chicken for hours before.
Went to the mcr Xmas market yesterday and shopping, before going to watch WarHorse at the theatre. Boi stayed at the gp's.
I bought a fabulous dress for Christmas. Absolute madness, frivolity in extremis, but it's just glorious...of course I'm going to have to find a link now, aren't I?

HopAlongOnItsOnlyChristmas · 27/11/2013 09:51

^link or you didn't do it.

Jealous of the cleaners. We have a little house so it's actually not too hard to keep it clean and tidy, if we keep on top of it. It's just when you let the little things slide it then descends into filth land and then it's too hard to find the time and and and... I try and make sure the kitchen is clean and tidy before bed, and we put all the toys away before bed time. I run the hoover round on my days off, and try and wipe the bathroom with wetwipes while DS is in the bath.

My folks are down tonight, until Monday. Christmas Markets with DS on Friday, possibly hanging out with a friend on Saturday, and a nice day in the park on Sunday I think. It's my mum's birthday so I need to bake a cake. I've got her some gin infused with cocoa shells. She had better open it while they are here!

DS does not seem to be ill - whatever was bothering him at the weekend passed and he's back to normal, phew! He's now decided I can't call him sweetie, sweetheart or darling. He's only to be called his name, monkey or babyboy.

OiMissus · 27/11/2013 09:58

Here's the link: - you need to zoom in to see the true beauty. Grinwww.houseoffraser.co.uk/Almost+Famous+Metallic+feather+print+dress/188128362,default,pd.html
Actually you need to see it in RL to get just how wondrously glorious it is.

HopAlongOnItsOnlyChristmas · 27/11/2013 10:22

PURTY!

Figgygal · 27/11/2013 11:10

Oi that is epic!!!

I've decided to recycle a 3yo dress this year for Xmas party this weekend partially to prove it still fits and then last years dress to another party (with different people). I usually always buy new (or my mum buys me one despite me advancing into my 30's) but couldn't justify one this year and as parents are on a Caribbean cruise ATM no luck there either Grin. didn't stop me gazing lovingly at some last weekend. New shoes though.

mopsytop · 27/11/2013 14:22

wow Oi!!!!! You'll be fabulous! Envy

OiMissus · 27/11/2013 23:38

I was planning to wear what I wore last year. A lace smock thing from Phase Eight (again!).
DH's fault. He mentioned Xmas Party whilst in Kendals (house of Fraser), what was I supposed to do??!

Figgygal · 28/11/2013 08:35

I did a bit of a pre party fashion show last night with All my dresses strangely all fit fine but 1 which I've bought since having DS......go figure Grin

Actually saw DS this morning all week he's slept until after 8 so missed him every morning. Bought him some new Disney cars jigsaws yesterday he spent the evening running then over with his lightning mcqueen ride on .....not the point little man!!

Aethelfleda · 28/11/2013 09:02

DS has a sore throat :( he's ok(ish) but clingy and not eating much apart from icelollies. Need more icelollies...

mopsytop · 28/11/2013 09:07

Minim has eye infection. Mr. Mopsy stayed home with her yesterday. My turn today. 3 hours of lectures to wrote by Tuesday. Terrible timing Sad

TheOnlySeven · 28/11/2013 10:08

Gosh they really are all suffering aren't they? DS and DD2 are slowly succumbing to DD1s cold, she's still full of snot too and I may getting it too. DD2 is really miserable and clingy with teething on top of that and I'm struggling to get anything done.

Rubbish day yesterday. We had a massive argument which I take full responsibility for by being stroppy and hormonal. We went shopping and discovered the pushchair wheel which had a slow puncture that DH promised to repair months ago had developed into a big puncture. Went to order the turkey for Christmas on the way home but tesco were so useless we didn't bother. We went our for dinner last night hoping to restore some calm, and got a phone call from my mum saying DD2 won't stop screaming.

OiMissus · 28/11/2013 20:21

After high temp on Monday, a cough and cold, Boi had a temp of 35.4 at the cm today. They warmed him up (hot chocolate, snuggles, hit water bottle and toast) and he was fine later. It must have been a ploy, he'd not long since polished off a warm bowl of porridge!
He's fine tonight. Still got a cold, but temp normal and quite happy. More snugly than playful, wanting tlc, but ok.
Not good.
Babies!!! Be good!!! Stop scaring the bejeebers out of us!!!

OiMissus · 28/11/2013 20:22

(Cat got your tongue keyboard, Aethel?!) Wink

OiMissus · 28/11/2013 21:21

His temp is below 35. He feels ok, looks pink, is responsive - won't cover up with extra clothes or blankets. Help!

mopsytop · 28/11/2013 21:28

I haven't a clue Oi but you can ring your GP's out of hours and ask for a call back for advice. I would do that to be on the safe side.

OiMissus · 28/11/2013 21:56

We did. We're at A&E just making sure. I wrapped him up so much, his temp was 35 when we arrived.
Been seen by nurse.
Nothing to worry about, but we'regoing to see the GP as well. Smile

mopsytop · 28/11/2013 22:17

Oh phew. Glad all seems ok. Keep us posted.

OiMissus · 28/11/2013 22:39

His temp went to 35.5 which is perfectly normal apparently. And the dr was very happy with all the checks he did. Ali was fab. He opened his mouth nice and wide when asked and was a little angel. Grin
Phew.
The first reading was 34.1 - I was really worried.
Hey ho, panic over.
(What did I say about the scaring us to death?!)Confused

NorthernChinchilla · 29/11/2013 09:54

Ah.... after a couple of hideously stressful days at work, including a admin snafu by me with grim results, I am now on holiday Grin. I am sitting here as my sparkly Xmas nails dry, and am packed and ready to go to York. I have sniffles, but not majorly.

Glad the BOi is well Oi, and hope you're feeling less worried- you're right, 'tis just a ploy for extra food and cuddles.

How's Xiao getting along aethel, are things any better for the family? Sounded like they were really going through the mill. Hope you've found lots of icelollies for DS too.

My DS tried to choke himself to death at nursery yesterday on a bit of potato- they told DP when he picked him up that if there were any marks on DS' back that's what it was from Confused! And counting seems to be the new thing, he can get up to seven- he does four every night coming up the steps to the front door.
Oh, and growth spurts- DP and I both goggled as we watched DS calmly get something down from the mantlepiece this morning: he was on tippy-toes and unable to get his dummy only a few weeks ago....

TheOnlySeven · 29/11/2013 13:29

oi glad the BOi is ok. My three all have a low temp, normal is about 35.5 for them, DH is the same weirdos. It's only ever up to around 37 when they're unwell.

northern that's quite worrying, not really sure what to say, I'm glad he didn't choke to death I guess.

DD1 gave us a scare too last night. She's had a bad cold all week, put her to bed last night but she wouldn't settle, I got her up after a while because she started crying. She was covered in hot red patches which all contained loads of white bumps, I've never seen anything like it. She was really itchy, DH googled but couldn't find anything. By the time if phoned my mum to ask her they'd gone.
