Ok here is the new thread. Quite impressed that I managed to do this as I usually fail miserably.

Hello mummyhill .

Alice and I are playing (while the men of the house sleep).

mummyhill · 02/09/2006 07:21

I am desperatly trying to get a few jobs done between posts as I am going to collect two sofas from a friends house today as they are in better condition than ours and she has shiny new ones.

OP posts:
IdrisTheDragon · 02/09/2006 07:23

Our sofas are definitely not shiny .

Well loved would be a kind description.

mummyhill · 02/09/2006 07:25

DD has tradhed mine over the last 4 yrs and we have been stressing about how to replace them.

IdrisTheDragon · 02/09/2006 08:02

DS woke up as well .

I'm going to an NCT nearly new sale this morning (on my own ) so DH is allowed to have a lie in for a bit.

Hope you enjoy the new sofas.

Simplyred · 02/09/2006 09:39

Hello

Hope the sofas fit your room well and are very comfy. When me and dh got together we both had our own sofa from our single days!!! I persuaded dh that mine were more usable - and his went to my Grans - however when ever we go round there dh sits happily down saying how much more comfy his are etc etc!!!
DS throws himself around on all our furniture - a lamp was broken last night whilst ds and dh played a game entitled 'Girls aloud are in my trousers' - yes really! If your men would like to play it, details will follow!

mollyollymummy · 02/09/2006 11:19

Thanks for the kind welcome. Is anyone feeling a little sad that their baby's first birthday is almost here,or am I just a bit of a weirdo?
Ralusadajo is that 5 kids I counted me too I've got 5 nice to know there is someone else out there

ych · 02/09/2006 16:19

Hi to all the new girls. I don't post often but I'm always lurking!
I'm actually coming on to have a rant. I'm having problems with youths too Mummyhill or 'little shts' as I like to call them! We have a skip outside our house as trying to get the garden in order for J's birthday and have filled the skip with loads of bricks and old doors, carpets etc that we've badly been needing to get rid off. I just caught 2 little shts taking stuff out of the skip and kicking it up the street! I went out and shouted at them and they ran off. I was then in the kitchen baking a cake (my first ever, trying to be all mummsy!) when I caught another 2 little shts actually in the garden. I then went out and my exact words were, 'fcking move now'!!! I just like to add I wouldnt normally shout that kind of language but they are driving me up the wall. To make matters worse my DH is dayshift and doesnt finish til 6pm.

Okay rant over, I just hate it when kids run through your garden, etc. Why dont they play in their own bloody garden!!! It's more the fact that we've had things broken in the past by kids being in the garden that annoys me. We're hoping to move next year to a better area.

Anyway, my lemon drizzle cake is baking in the oven and looks lovely. I'm not baking J's birthday cake though. My Mums friend is doing that for me and its going to have a clown on top, it looks really nice. I'm like you mollyollymummy I can't believe my wee boy is going to be 1.

ych · 02/09/2006 16:23

p.s re sofa's - we have a honey coloured one and it looks absolutely black! I would love a nice new leather one, hopefully that will come next year too with the new house in a lovely youth free area!!!

Simplyred · 02/09/2006 17:04

oh ych - sounds bad - it worries me that all over the country there are yobs bring dragged up to rear yet more jobs - I wonder what we will find here in 20 years time!

IdrisTheDragon · 02/09/2006 22:14

Well, it took her a while to develop the skill, but this evening, Alice rolled .

threelittlebabies · 02/09/2006 23:22

Hello everyone,

it's been ages sicne I posted on this thread, but the title caught my eye today! My dd had her 1st birthday party today, though her birthday is on Tuesday. She had a lovely time, although was a bit overwhelmed by all the people in her house! I can't believe she is 1, my baby, it's but also . She's such a different girl now!

Anyway, hope everyone's babies have lovely birthdays

mummyhill · 03/09/2006 08:26

Happy Birthday Thomas.

Morning all.

We now have a two seater in the bay and a three seater on the other wall and they look great. They don't seem to dominate the room as much as the old furniture and are easier to clean. The only problem is that they have come from a house where they were heavy smokers. We cleaned it all yesterday with a carpet cleaner but I came down this morning and they still smell so I am liberally spraying febreeze.

Thanks mummyhill for inserting the link for mumofthomas. One day I WILL learn how to do fancy things like that! Hope she finds us...Happy Birthday Thomas!
And hello threelittlebabies. A first birthday party! HOpe you all had a lovely day. Really don't know what we're going to do for A. Suppose should really sort something out. Truth is I don't want my little baby to be a big 1 yo, either, mollyollymummy!!
Idris...hurrah for Alice rolling!!!
Mummyhill - enjoy the sofas - open the windows and let that horrible smokey smell disappear. ALways wanted a bay window!!!
Ych - I've said it before and I'll say it again - "string 'em up!"
Simplyred -yes, while there are yobs rearing yobs out there, there are also good decent parents like ourselves who are rearing (relatively) well behaved non-yobs who will hopefully outnumber the sh*ts!!
Have a lovely SUnday, everyone - work tomorrow!!

Is there still a meet up on the 15th at Windsor? If so could you post the details so that I can pass them on to wabbitt. I have no internet at home at the moment but can log on at my sisters or my parents so I won't be vanishing completley.

OP posts:
IdrisTheDragon · 04/09/2006 13:39

Not sure about meetip in Windsor - seems to be only beatie and me and I have no knowledge of Windsor (although will happily come if I am pointed in the right direction).

Lovely and sunny outside but I am at work.

IdrisTheDragon · 04/09/2006 13:39

Congratulations NLSTM .

ych · 04/09/2006 18:02

Congratulations NLSTM - 2 girls, that's great news.

beatie · 04/09/2006 19:57

Hi, I am still on for the meet-up. Dh goes back to work tomorrow so I'll have time to myself again (or myself and 2 girls) so I'll be able to research Windsor. Tell Wabbit hello and to keep the date free. I can text her when we have more details.

Hi to everyone. Congrats to NLSTM!

Hi to Franch. I forgot it was you who recommended that book, "There's a Good Girl". Well, I am currently reading it and it's such an eye-opener.

Not much going on here. My Alice is getting very good at bum-shiffling. I now doubt that she'll crawl at all. She wants everthing her big sister has, so when she spots her playing with something, she can move speedily across the room.

I finished breastfeeding last month. I was down to 1-2 feeds per day anyway. It seems like Alice hasn't noticed She's so into food of the solid variety, it's no wonder really.

She had a raging nappy rash for a few weeks. I kept thinking it was getting better but it wasn't. I eventually got some stuff from Waitrose which is tea tree oil and witch hazel and it is now clearing up. It wasn't bothering her for a long time but the past week she started scratching whenever her nappy was off I'm so relieved it is nearly all healed.

I just got the forms through to apply for DD1s school place for next year I have one more year left of having her at home (except for Pre-school - but that's different) It really does fly by.

Simplyred · 04/09/2006 22:36

I'm still up for Windsor on 15th. It is a jouney but with dd I'll do it to say hello!

IdrisTheDragon · 05/09/2006 06:27

Ooh good - glad the meet-up is still happening .
