I broke the old thread! Step this way, step this way.

Do you own any scales, Aloha? Weigh once with and once without Evie. Sorted! :-)

Amy has the tip of one tooth through, but it's not growing to be a full tooth yet. She's really bad with teething today though, so not sure if it's that tooth growing or the one next to it coming. Or both. I got well and truly puked on by her too. Delightful!

AlohaMama · 21/01/2014 19:02

There lies the problem MrsBri. No scales in this house. Except kitchen scales - more interested in baking and eating than weighing myself Grin

MrsBri · 21/01/2014 20:20

Me too, Aloha...I've not been weighed since my booking in appt in December 2012, and that's the way I like it! :-)

The PiL have scales that DH has done the baby weighing thing on though.

DontmindifIdo · 21/01/2014 20:25

Oh god I hate teething! One is cut through, the one next to it I can see, and she's howling, dribbling and is grumpy.

curlyclaz13 · 21/01/2014 20:46

We have one tooth part through and a very bumpy gum next too it. Sleep is very much a distant memory here !
In the spirit of joining in I have weighed and measured Oscar, 69cm (ish he is very mobile !) And 15lb 7 so around 50th height and a smidge under 9th for weight. Around the same as he has always been.
Weaning is going well, he loves food and is on three meals a day plus a snack if I dare eat within view when we are out ! Got some very suprised looks when he tooka whole rice cake off me in costa on Sunday and shoved it straight in his mouth.

MrsBri · 21/01/2014 20:46

That's exactly how my day has panned out today, Dontmind. I've a feeling tonight is going to be horrendous. :-/

Sunbeam18 · 21/01/2014 21:22

We are all suffering from teeth! We had very little sleep last night... We have had two bottom middle teeth through since early December but nothing else since then. Much dribbling and knawing of everything though. We are getting DS weighed tomorrow, first time in AGES. Can't wait to see what percentile he is now on - you've got me thinking about it!

MadameJ · 22/01/2014 08:45

Morning all, we are germy again!! Everyone has another bloody cough and cold and dd2 is really suffering with her teeth as well. Roll on the summer so hopefully these bugs will do one!!!

AlohaMama · 22/01/2014 12:40

More teeth on the way here too. Well actually no sign of new teeth exactly but vicious gnawing of the hands and copious drooling. On the weaning front, have just discovered that baby pasta with homemade tomato sauce and ricotta cheese goes down a storm. Favourite thing so far by a long way. Blended peas also quite good, spinach not so much.

Think we have colds on the way here too Madame. Am hoping that it will pass quickly so that DS can still go to nursery tomorrow. Esp since DH is away for work today and tomorrow.

pinkbear82 · 22/01/2014 18:41

Just been catching up as had my Gran's funeral yesterday so have been staying with my parents and helping out. Dad has been in such a state his gp is seeing if his heart surgery can be brought forward from the end of next month. :\ If its not one thing its another at the moment and everything is in a muddle with sorting Grans out. Slowly but surely.

No teeth visible here, but lots of bumpy gums, lots of dribbling, lots of chewing and quite a few grumps. Although she was a star yesterday during the service, so really shouldn't complain.

i now want to see if i can find a tape measure and see how long she is, I was just saying today i think she's grown. Although hopefully not too much, or her christening dress stands a chance of not fitting on Sunday!!

pinkapples · 23/01/2014 06:12

Another cold here too and conjunctivitis again!

Specialist dermatologist went well came away with lots of potions etc and an appointment with an allergist to see if she's having a reaction to anything well see hope everyone has a good day and I really really want to weigh Theiah and measure now you've got me thinking too

MadameJ · 23/01/2014 07:40

Sounds like we all have a lot going on again! Much better night despite the fact I slept on baby's floor, she woke at 10,1 & 4 but at least she slept in between, I was very shocked as she was really struggling with these poxy teeth before bed and we also had our first bite whilst feeding which made me yelp and her cry :-(

We are off to soft play today so dd1 can burn off some energy, hope everyone else has a good day x

Sunbeam18 · 23/01/2014 08:52

So the boy is just under 20lbs!!! No wonder my arms hurt! Gonna measure height today. Still SO struggling at night - how do those of you with poor sleepers handle this with your partner? We don't seem to be able to manage a good system and always end up all of us awake most of the night Hmm we have 2 bedrooms (our bedroom and Keir's room with his cot plus a sofa bed in it). However, the rooms are right next to each other so there is nowhere for the person who is not 'on duty' to get quiet space for sleep. Hmm. We usually try to do a shift system of either night or early morning but haven't nailed it. Wake ups tend to be around 12 and 4, sometimes quick and sometimes extensive and noisy!

MadameJ · 23/01/2014 13:23

Thats tricky Sunbeam, I am currently sleeping on the floor in dd's room so that dh is not repeatedly disturbed with me in and out but I'm not sure what you can do unless dh fancies the sofa?

MadameJ · 23/01/2014 14:08

Earplugs maybe Sunbeam??

Sunbeam18 · 23/01/2014 16:30

Earplugs not a bad idea. Hadn't thought of that (sleep deprived brain...!)

Sarah2506 · 23/01/2014 17:30

Ladies who breastfeed, have you got your periods back as yet? I haven't. I'm still breastfeeding three times a day alongside her eating three meals a day. I don't need them, but do need to know I'm normal!

curlyclaz13 · 23/01/2014 18:03

No periods here but bf a lot still. I have a boob monster though !

Mrs81 · 23/01/2014 18:05

No periods here either. Mind you, ds still feeds 5-6 times a day, plus a couple of times over night.

Quite a few friends with older children said their periods didn't return until bf was finished altogether, so sometimes over a year. Which is all well and good - but apparently the first period is a bit of a nasty. Lalalalalala....!

pinkbear82 · 23/01/2014 19:46

Funny you should mention periods, mine seems to have returned this week. Not painful, but quite heavy, although I always have had heavy periods, even while on the pill. So a 7.5 gap and still bf quite a bit. Thought it was just spotting to start with as changed pill last month, but no. A definite difference.

Home again tonight after staying a bit longer with mum and dad. So DP now has to put up with the up and down ness. In truth, he doesn't hear a thing and sleeps fine. Which can be quite annoying, sometimes knowing someone else is suffering too makes it feel a little better

MadameJ · 23/01/2014 20:27

No periods here but still feeding loads, didn't have one last time until dd1 self weaned at 17 months so hoping for the same this time!!

hedgehogy · 23/01/2014 21:40

No periods here either, but DD still feeds lots! I hope they stay away until I stop bf.

Sunbeam18 · 24/01/2014 00:11

You lot are lucky - am bf and got periods back 7 weeks after giving birth! Couldn't believe it; the midwives and HV say I'm just unlucky. Pain in the bum.

Mrs81 · 24/01/2014 08:05

How did the funeral go Pinkbear? I hope you're doing okay. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate Brew Thanks

DontmindifIdo · 24/01/2014 08:05

My periods came back before I stopped bfing too.

My MIL has agreed to do 1 afternoon a week childcare! Yay, this means I will make a grand total of £380 a month for working 3 days a week until the girl gets her 15 hours free. Really doesn't seem worth it... Sad

In other news, I've been practicing driving DH's car, we've decided with both of us commuting to work by train, DD in a nursey thats waking distance from our house and the station and DS in a school also walking distance from our house (assuming he gets in!), we can't really justify running two cars while money's tight. All fine but - DHs car is an estate car and much wider than mine, I'm struggling to park so that I can get the car seat out the back, with a wide car you have to make effort, not just shove your car in the space any old way as I do with my tiny car. I might actually have to try parrell parking again for the first time since my test 17 years ago as I can't just fit this car forward in a space. Please tell me others just give up and always park in parent and child spaces! (or is there a nack to getting car seats out when you can't get the door open wide?)
