I'm impressed with that poomageden.... We had a slight poonami yesterday while out. DP washed the trousers and dried them with hand dryer while I cleaned the rest up.... Had a spare vest and top but some how had over looked the bottom half!

DP is out tonight, dd is currently self settling in her cot, as soon as she is snoozing I am hopping into bed and seeing if I can get an early night. I realise I won't. But I'm gonna try.

Those of you warning already do your little ones still have the same amounts of milk? Still fb here so not sure how much she is taking, but they feel shorter and more spaced out. I wouldn't say she is having huge amounts to 'ear' and she's only a little lady as it is, I don't want to find she's dropping more than she can afford.

RueDeWakening · 20/11/2013 22:45

Also bf still, but he has a bottle of expressed at bedtime and as a dream feed - both of those are a good couple of ounces less now, and actual BFs are shorter too - 9 minutes total this morning, for example, which is usually the longest feed since he sleeps through. We might have dropped a feed, but I'm not sure since I feed on demand so have never had a set number per day.

pinkbear82 · 21/11/2013 07:55

Just noticed I am apparently fb-ing.... Which has made me Grin think dd would have more issues if I was doing that each time she wanted feeding!

We demand feed too, so hard to tell too, and she has always been a quick feeder, the longest ever was 20 min, she averages about 10. We shall see at next weigh in, I won't go early for it as she has had a cold, hasn't been 100% and tomorrow she has her jabs, so all enough to upset things anyways.

Hope everyone has a good day, we are off to our first baby massage group today, I am quite excited by this.

Sarah2506 · 21/11/2013 08:28

Hello ladies. So can I recommend not taking your child out in a blizzard?? We really wanted to go to the cinema and see Philomena yesterday, and obviously parent and baby screenings are few and far between. So I got ready and suddenly it's hauling. I thought oh it will pass. It didn't. I managed to get her in the car and when we got to the cinema is was snowing heavily. But at that stage it was pretty much a case of I'm here now. So we legged it across the car park. The women selling tickets were a bit 'wow, so you take your baby out in this do you'. I did feel a bit bad!

So after loosing the house we found another one. I can't post a link but if anyone is interested in having a nose you can go to statons Barnet website and it's the 499k house on Lytton road. Which now shows as under offer as our offer was accepted! It's way more than we can afford really. If interest rates go up we may well be screwed. But it's close to where we are now so our lifestyle wouldn't have to change at all. And it means my mum can get to me easily. That's important as the extra 150 quid a month of mortgage that we need means she really needs to do a days childcare. We will make it work one way or another!

Hope all ok with you all! Tired here. It occurs to me she's had the same sleeping pattern since she was about 8 weeks old- this was brilliant at that age but now I am bored of it! Would just like her to occasionally sleep through. When when when might that happen?!?

DontmindifIdo · 21/11/2013 08:41

Pah Sarah, snow is fine, that's what snowsuits and rain covers are for. DS was born in December - snowing heavily when I went to hospital to have him and it was snowing/snow on the ground for the first 6 weeks of his life (I remember nearly crashing the car going to my 6 week check as the GP's carpark was now sheet ice). Apparently we're in for a harsh winter. I will go insane if I'm stuck indoors for a month at a time. come on, we're british, there's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.

But get used to it with people making comments about your parenting choices, whatever you do you get judged by someone (going out in a blizzard bad for that woman, others would say keeping your lo cooped up in doors is terrible behaviour. You. Can't. Win.)

Sarah, lovely house! You can have the dining room where the toys are, and then as your front room is completely separate, you have a grown up space that's "brightly coloured plastic free zone"! Somewhere to just collapse too without sitting on a toy train or the like, or somewhere that's always neat to usher in guests rather than fertively running around collecting things to dump in various toy boxes as your PIL are parking the car outside.... (not that I end up doing that, no, never!) When do you expect to move?

MrsBri · 21/11/2013 09:16

Ooh...finally a front to back roll here! It was very slow, and shows no sign of being repeated (too busy trying to crawl!), but I'm glad it happened. :-)

I'm glad you found another house, Sarah. It must be a relief, even though it's dearer. Can you extend your mortgage for an extra few years and then remortgage when it's a touch more affordable and reduce the term?

We saw a gorgeous flat yesterday to rent (our landlords are selling the house we are in) and are hoping the owner accepts £25 less a month than the asking price. It's gorgeous. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I hope the weather isn't as bad as they're predicting this winter. I'd be miserable if so!

Sarah2506 · 21/11/2013 09:58

To be fair the looks were more directed at the fact she was wearing appropriate clothing than the fact we were out! I do find it a major faff though. I am already looking back fondly on the just chuck Birkenstock on feet run out the door days! I guess it fits in better with weaning in the long run as we are unlikely to be out for extended periods of time.

Yeah house is lush. We had though that we will stick the old sofa in the kitchen and do exactly as you suggest. In fact in our attempts to keep the front room child free we will likely never actually go in there!

rrreow · 21/11/2013 10:33

Wow that's awesome Sarah! It's huge!!

pinkapples · 21/11/2013 21:05

We had a roll today too! All the way roll not just a side to side rock it was from lying flat on her back to her belly!! She just laughed when she's done it then cried a bit as she doesn't much like her front but then she must have done it a couple of times Grin

Sunbeam18 · 23/11/2013 10:12

Has someone started a new thread?

AlohaMama · 23/11/2013 15:30

Not me.

Today we are officially throwing away the dummy. Well at least trying to encourage self-soothing. Has not been possible till now, due to staying with my parents but now we're in our own place she really needs to learn to go back to sleep by herself. I'm hoping this means she'll start to settle down quicker. Let's see how it goes.

Otherwise counting down the days till the weaning begins. Am planning to wait till 6 months though I wouldn't be suprised if she finally manages to grab food from my plate sooner.

Who else is excited about babies first Christmas??

pinkbear82 · 23/11/2013 19:10

Can someone remind me what sleep is?! Thursday night I think I got 1.5 hours, last night about 3 Shock I am turning into a zombie and had two busy days to go along with it too.
And to top it off my Gran was taken into hospital yesterday evening, 93 years old, very frail, although she seems in ok sprits I do wonder if she'll come home again.

DSDs with us this weekend, the 7 year old has been less than delightful, can I stop dd growing and avoid the tantrums and screaming and shouting.... Please?!

Aloha how is it being in your own place now? Are you feeling more sane?

curlyclaz13 · 23/11/2013 19:25

What are lo's sleeping in now ? osk has been in vest, sleep suit and 1 tog bag but are putting him in the 2.5 tog tonight due to not having washed the others Blush room starts at about 22 until about 12 then cools to 19 ish. the recommendations say just a vest but I think he is bound to poo if I do that so was thinking sleep suit might contain any accidents without him overheating too much ? He wakes so often I wonder if he has been cold recently as he had been a bit better until the last week.

Sunbeam18 · 23/11/2013 19:34

Keir sleeps in a 2.5 tog sleeping bag with vest and sleep suit underneath. We are in freezing Scotland though ! The room is 18 or 19 degrees

curlyclaz13 · 23/11/2013 19:58

pinkbear that sounds rough hope you get a better night tonight and that your gran is comfortable and hopefully feeling better.
Oscar had a new trick last night, wake and feed as usual then as soon as I had glasses off light off and quilt on wake up squealing/crying again every bloody time so that was 5 times from about 11 last night and of course today was our venture photo thing so they best be good at editing. not that I can afford the photos anyway.
here's to a restful night ladies Wine

AlohaMama · 24/11/2013 05:58

Pink bear that is terrible. Is your lo just waking up lots or won't settle?

I love being in our own place, but mostly because I feel like life has been on hold for months. Now we can get on with this stage of our lives, make new friends, establish routines etc.

For sleeping here Evie wears lots, way more than recommended, but I genuinely think that with less she gets cold. Her room goes from 21 to 18-19 at night and she wears vest, sleepsuit, long sleeved top, 2.5 tog bag plus two thin blankets. I only add the blankets once we go to bed and her room has cooled.. Yet her body still only just feels warm to touch and her arms feel pretty cold so she's not overheating. I've built up the layers gradually because she was waking up more when it got colder.

pinkbear82 · 24/11/2013 08:17

Slightly better night last night! Although DP did stay awake for a whole extra hour with her, gold stars are being searched for Hmm he did then turn tv on this morning and the dsds came in doing their fantastic stage whispers and any chance of a bit of extra sleep went out the sodding window.

Aloha - she has sort of taken her daytime routine into the night, little naps and then hours of being awake. And by time she finally realises she is tired I've pushed through that sleep barrier and/or have had to start the day.

Dd did have her jabs Friday so now think we are fighting against that too.

Curly thanks for the wishes re gran, she's a very stubborn lady which no doubt has got her to 93 and still in her own home and until recently doing everything herself. Just now have to get her to try and accept help. And thankfully despite falling she didn't do any damage which is a miracle. There's a question over her heart and that her dose of morphine was too high so they want to observe her for a while and see what happens. Could be a lot worse tho.

MadameJ · 24/11/2013 08:21

Sleeps not great here either, im starting to wish she hadn't been so good when she was younger as it makes it harder knowing she can do longer stretches. She is mostly waking every 2/3 hours to feed, thankfully she takes a big feed then immediately settles back down so that's definitely a positive. Friday night was tricky as both girls were really is unsettled and it literally felt as if I was up all night!!

Last lot of injections tomorrow so will be glad when that's over.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday x

hedgehogy · 24/11/2013 08:54

Sleep has been terrible here for over a week as baby has a cold. It has been a shock to the system after having a baby that sleeps through. Poor thing has a blocked nose which is the main problem. We've tried Calpol a couple of times (which hasn't had any effect - probably because she spits it all out, and we're using the syringe - any tips anyone?), saline nasal spray and snuffle babe. She's finding it really hard to feed as she's struggling with breathing through her nose while feeding; the spray and snuffle babe help temporarily but she's feeding nowhere near as much as usual. I'm shattered. My husband has been a great help though (she's not waking to feed, but because she's feeling ill and wants comforting).

SunnyL · 24/11/2013 08:58

Teeth can quite frankly feck the feck off.

Particularly at 6am.

And at 5.30am.

As for teeth at 5am you know what i think about that.

Grrrrr

MrsBri · 24/11/2013 09:10

We've got a snotty baby here too, with a bit of a cough.

She fed relatively badly yesterday (for her) and threw her last bottle up all over me. Nice!

She's also waking because of being bunged up and not being able to breathe properly, and she spent a lot of the evening up rather than asleep because of it too.

Or maybe it was the teething. Where are these sodding teeth and why are they taking so bloody long to appear? :-/

Thankfully she's now sleeping and catching up so we are getting a lie in.

Sorry others' babies are suffering too. It's not good, is it?

Pink, I hope your nan improves and you manage to convince her that she needs help. And you need to have words with your DP about how 'helpful' he's being. I'd go mental if I had to put up with that.

Aloha, Evie is probably still coming to terms with England after initially doing her acclimatising in Hawaii. It must be a shock to her little system.

SunnyL · 24/11/2013 11:49

Sorry. I've been for a walk with the dog, had a cup of tea and generally de-grumped myself.

Happy Sunday ladies!

We started weaning this week. I don't think she's getting any calories from food but is enjoying the experience of trying out different foods - apart from apple. Apparently apple is evil.

Mrs81 · 24/11/2013 13:21

Are we approaching the next wonder week (again)? Sleep isn't as good as it might be here either.

New batch of meds for reflux...including one to be given 30-60mins before each feed. Whoever thought that was a good idea hasn't breastfed (more or less) on demand Hmm

Feeling a bit meh today; my Gran's had a heart attack whilst away visiting folk and is currently 200 miles away in hospital. Albeit an excellent hospital, but still...

curlyclaz13 · 24/11/2013 21:31

Mrs81 I think we are, there is a 6 month growth spurt apparently Sad .
crap sleep again last night with waking every time I put him down and an epic session from 3am-4 when I think I put him down about 5 times.
Already started tonight by waking within 5 minutes of being put down for the first time so I am in bed trying to sleep Hmm
