That's exactly it VQ - I could cope with being up a few times or early waking but not both plus working FT. Especially as I have a hard week ahead of me and need my wits. And you have to cope with all that illness too. Hugs.

DH sat up with S so I could doze but DD was awake and wanted her nappy off, a story, go have me 'eat ' her arms like a corn on the cob. All lovely but not at that hour. S was quiet but only dozing on DH at best and wouldn't have withstood a transfer.

Perhaps I should just resign myself to 4am wakings and go to bed at 1900 like the DC!!

MsJupiterJones · 28/10/2013 06:03

Pennie I have some Mam 'dipper' things which are nice and chunky to hold, which gives L some practice in self-feeding. I found a dob of peanut butter was a good starting point as it doesn't slip off! He was never very interested in loaded spoons but recently has taken them so I feel like he is started to get it. He still eats most of his food with his hands though pretty efficiently.

Eliza that was still a fairly epic post!

Thanks for the good wishes everyone.

Donnadoon · 28/10/2013 06:59

madame on a serious note! that is how I cope/coped, I leave DH to sort the older ones and am in bed quite regular just in time for Emmerdale for 7pm, with dd. Means I don't get to spend much time with DH sometimes but hey ho I get some sleep.

Donnadoon · 28/10/2013 07:00

GT Of course you can ff in day and bf at night

PetiteRaleuse · 28/10/2013 07:12

Morning hope the storm hasn't done too much damage. V windy and rainy here since yesterday afternoon but i think it is a different storm from yours. A kinder one. Sophia fingers crossed that the flight doesn't get cancelled. Thinking of you this morning.

Evil thinking of you too. vq gives good advice to bunk off work and sort yourself out, and to warn nursery Flowers

Busy day here will catch up later x

horseylady · 28/10/2013 07:44

Up hourly here poor boy

I'm off work today then trying to figure out the rest of the week and possibly week after.

He was so sick last night, everywhere stinks of sick. No idea what else to do really.

fruitpastilles · 28/10/2013 08:11

sophia's girls should be ok to fly, the storm seems to have missed us here in Birmingham.

There seems to be an awful lot of bad nights, hugs to vq izzy and horsey sorry if I have missed anyone. horsey poor e being so ill on his birthday Hmm
S went to bed at 6:30 last night woke at 7 and was up for 2 hours. The rest of the night was pretty much the same.

StuntedFrankenNun · 28/10/2013 08:51

Eliza you can't break spaghetti in half it's impossible.

I'm waiting for the phone to ring to find out if when we're moving. It was supposed to be this Friday but who knows whether we would be able to get movers at this short notice.

GTbaby · 28/10/2013 08:54

H has been up super early and today, having never even attempted before, climbed the stairs unaided Confused
Fml

GTbaby · 28/10/2013 09:08

Stunt I'm off to experiment. After I'm done feeding A

Lily311 · 28/10/2013 09:11

O awake at 4.30. madame same here, she doesn't go back to sleep. Nothing works. It happened only today though but regardless I'm shuttered.

PurplePidjOrTreatin · 28/10/2013 09:15

I've never let R get close enough to the stairs to try Blush

ChasingDaisy · 28/10/2013 09:21

I am grateful I have no stairs.

horseylady · 28/10/2013 09:26

Frequently scale the stairs here!! Up and down.

He seems a bit brighter today. He's playing a bit which is good. I'm not allowed more than 3ft away from him but he is playing!!!

StuntedFrankenNun · 28/10/2013 09:27

Woohoo me and J I know, I know bad grammar but if I write 'J and I' it looks like I'm talking about the alphabet have been selected for the Mothercare Toybox product test. Did anyone else get picked? Poor J only has hand-me-downs. Apart from the SmartTrike we're going to wrap DS1 and DS2's old Brio and Duplo for J's birthday cheapskate that I am so it'll be lovely for him to have some new toys to play with. Grin

ChasingDaisy · 28/10/2013 09:37

Oscar hit my bunion with a hammer today. A toy hammer. But still, ouch.

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/10/2013 09:47

stunt yay, how lovely for J. And I think you meant to link to gt re the spaghetti. Dare I ask if there's any news on the house move?

gt could you give A a first name but then call him by a middle name that you prefer? Or does that go against the custom?

No storm damage here. Aside from a power cut in the night you wouldn't hae guessed there was bad weather. There are no trains though so DH is still here and has put dinner in the slow cooker so that's nice. Am enjoying our lazy morning but we were due to go the circus at 11am but found out last night it's been cancelled as they couldn't put the big top up in this weather. Not surprised but gutted none the less.

applepieinthesky · 28/10/2013 10:07

Looking after a baby with a hangover is not fun. Won't be doing that again in a hurry. Back to work today but I have tomorrow and wednesday off. I also have three days off the week after next for C's birthday. DP wanted fireworks to celebrate so we got them on saturday and will keep our fingers crossed that it's dry on the day.

evil I hope that reinforces that you are doing the right thing in leaving. He has no chance of getting n, money doesn't come into it. You are a good mum, we can all see it and so will everyone else. Make sure you jot down things that have happened, comments that have been made and dates.

StuntedFrankenNun · 28/10/2013 10:17

Oops sorry Eliza am I still allowed to blame baby brain?

PetiteRaleuse · 28/10/2013 11:08

apple sympathies I have dealt with two hangovers since DD1 was born and it was vile. It's like they know and get even screechier than usual.

stunt forgot to answer yesterday it's series one of Misfits. The dialogue is good but we didn't really get into it enough. Can you also believe that I hav missed every episode of the final Dexter series they have shown so far. Could get it on catchup but only in French and I hate watching dubbed TV.

DD1 at home with me today she has conjunctivitis (though I couldn't see it) so they wouldn't take her. Was going to Dr anyway so took her and she has drops for it so can go back tomorrow. Took her to the local town for doughnuts and a magazine she was so upset at going to nursery and not being allowed to stay :( Dr weighed her - 17kg!!! Explains the back ache :o

V windy here, different storm but there are trees down in the forests between my village and the next. I love storms.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 28/10/2013 11:17

Oh that's lovely news stunt well done you and J!

YellowWellies · 28/10/2013 12:27

Wah first nursery settling session for an hour this afternoon! That's come round so fast..... Shock

applepieinthesky · 28/10/2013 13:20

My little C is not well again. Mum's taking him to the doctors at 3. He's been projectile vomiting, has no energy and is really lethargic all the time. Not eating much either. It's not long since he was last ill Sad I expect they'll say it's just a virus but better safe than sorry.

applepieinthesky · 28/10/2013 13:29

that's great news stunt. I don't enter those things anymore as I never seem to get chosen.

GTbaby · 28/10/2013 13:48

Eliza all Sikh boys/men have the same middle name. So he would end up with two middle names. Not sure how I feel about it tho.
Decided I just need to convince FH that its my way or divorce Wink
