Hmm, maybe I need to keep J awake in the morning so he can concentrate on his midday nap. It's complicated by having to collect DS2 at 2 p.m. and I hate having to wake J for that.

I'm at the GP waiting for my smear. Eep!

PetiteRaleuse · 22/10/2013 10:05

Nice name change stunt :o

StuntedFrankenNun · 22/10/2013 10:31
Grin
GTbaby · 22/10/2013 10:53

I forgot about the 1year jabs Blush
Better book it now

GTbaby · 22/10/2013 10:54

Is it just 1 jab? As I don't think he will stay still for more them 1 Hmm

PurplePidjOrTreatin · 22/10/2013 11:55

At £3 a week I'll be quids in at 50 weeks...

R is a nap dodger. I just let him sleep where he is, we were both distraught yesterday afternoon when i tried to get him in his cot. He's currently on my back in the sling, bum supported by a cushion while i drink coffee and swelter in my coat yesterday he slept 11:10-11:35 and 14:15-14:35. However it doesn't seem to affect his night sleep which was 17:50-1:50-6:15

Sophiathesnowfairy · 22/10/2013 12:05

What a lot of catching up.

I am still doing ikea on Thurs Frankennun if you don't move and feel the need for stress busting coffee.

Wondering what on earth nastiness could transpire of the barginous thread?

Lots if inspiration from all of you. Girls are over next week and they will be spoilt rotten, after that, and Os birthday (winter BBQ burgers and sausages and maybe some cinder toffee and sparklers for anyone above the age of what ever is the sensible ageing an owl cake) anyway then I will start being uber careful with my housekeeping money.

Anyway, also, quickly, when it went for my check in at Drs when I pulled my sleeve up for BP he noticed and commented on a big scar I have on my upper arm, which is raised and freckley and as I have had it since I was about 2 (spilled tea incident) I have forgotten about it. No one ever says anything, is big but not that noticeable. What was all that about? Interest? DV concern? SH concern? Nosiness? Probably latter but Hmm

ValiumQueen · 22/10/2013 13:01

Sophia pic on FB please ? It is strange a scar would be covered in freckles I guess. I would say concern. Any changes in skin concern medics. I have one tattoo that becomes raised intermittently. The others don't.
Odd.

I have a gorgeous little boy asleep on me. He is much better thankfully.

Izzy she already has a little bluebell cottage I think it is, and Willow Hall. Grandma is getting her a campervan, trailer, toilet tent and 7 piece Babblebrook family. All I acquired at half price or less. We have got her the Field View Windmill, second hand but perfect. I bought myself the dress shop and Nana is giving her the school. Everything half price. I love bargains. She is extremely lucky.

And I have a fucking furby which I will sell nearer Christmas. The bargain thread is to thank for that error, but I will make a profit on it. I think it is really funny when a fight kicks off on the bargain thread. I do not get involved, just get comfy with popcorn and enjoy the show.

ValiumQueen · 22/10/2013 13:29

J has his breakfast first as otherwise he just pukes his bottle back every time. He has his first bottle around 9am as he does not eat much. He is still on 4 bottles a day.

PurplePidjOrTreatin · 22/10/2013 13:31

R is clearly now down to 2 feeds a day - 10 minutes after breakfast, 15-20 at bedtime. He eats well with plenty of green leafies, pulses, meat, fish and fruit/veg. He has milk on weetabix in the morning and a yoghurt for pudding (am switching this to evening to see if it reduces the acid in his wee that wakes him at night) but should i give him milk to drink too? He drinks water from a cup well enough...

MadameGazelleIsMyMum · 22/10/2013 13:55

I am following the bargain threads too VQ and izzy. Have 2 big nappy boxes filled with the things that the thread MADE me order. Always nice to see a lovely quiche poster when you're not necessarily expecting to. I have seen titsalinabumsquash post on those threads too - if you are still lurking here tits then hi!

Thanks for the reminder re jabs PR, just booked S's jabs and 1 year check.

pennie that sounds like a lovely gift.

We buy Aldi nappies and I only use Huggies wetwipes. We bulk buy when they are on offer - Sainsbury's recently had them at BOGOF at £3 for a four pack. So 8 packets for £3. I think I bought 12 4 packs. But we use huggies wipes for EVERYTHING. You're never more than an arm's length away from a packet of wet wipes in our house.

We need to seriously get a grip on our spending. All the tips are very useful. Our spending downfall is also our fat downfall. If I could just exercise some control over it all that would be a great start, but spending and eating are the only two chaotic elements of my life.

S still wakes before 5am. Changing bedtime (6-6.30pm) doesnt work. I think he is ready to cut down on day time sleep but the early start means he really needs a nap about 8.30ish and that would be the one I would prefer to drop. We are now cutting down the two bottles during the day to 5oz (from 7oz), and are going to reduce and reduce these and then give cow's milk in a beaker once he is one. He will still drain 7oz first thing and have around 5oz last thing.

PetiteRaleuse · 22/10/2013 14:29

I don't go on the bargain threads because they make me Envy at all the bargains I can't have. I really need to do some Christmas shopping.

Jabs done. GT it was one jabs for the mmrv and another one for a booster of something she had already which on my form says 'invasive infections eg strep A pneumoniae whatever that it. In six weeks we need to go back for meninitis and a booster for another of the early ones. Then back again in 6 months or so for the mmrv booster.

Then that's it until another booster at 5/6 years.

Have decided against the flu jab for now. If they get it again this year then I will get it done, but, touch wood, they might not get it two years in a row...

She's dropped back down to 50th centile weight (has grown 1cm in two months but not put on any weight) - Dr says not to worry she had reserves and she will have been moving much more this last couple of months than ever before, and as her milk intake has also gone down there is no cause for concern - proper food is less calorific than milk.

She screamed right through the appointment :( she used to love going to the doctor.

PetiteRaleuse · 22/10/2013 14:31

Oh, and I asked, the 350ml to 450ml milk she is drinking every day is apparently fine.

fruitpastilles · 22/10/2013 14:32

S won't wear a hat but will quite happily crawl around with my bra on her head! Strange child.

StuntedFrankenNun · 22/10/2013 15:40

I have a freckley scar too Sophia, where my brother bit me, but it isn't raised. I'm not sure about Thursdat yet, DH is on the phone to the solicitor right now!

PR I've noticed with mine that they grow up then fill out, so growing a cm without putting on weight would be the norm for them.

Pikz · 22/10/2013 16:11

Anyone needing shoes start rite outlet centre online have loads for £12 a pair and a measuring gauge for£5.

PetiteRaleuse · 22/10/2013 16:56

Sarenza or something along those lines have foot measures you can download and print off. But they don't seem to do the letter widths over here.

ChasingDaisy · 22/10/2013 17:10

A conversation with date guy has got me wondering if any of the quichesters have a claim to fame? Mine is that I once fell off a horse im front of Dawn French. I am also related to a famous politician but I try not to talk about that too often...

ValiumQueen · 22/10/2013 17:27

I looked after the baby of a rock star once when he had whooping cough. I cannot say who obviously for confidentiality reasons, but he was lush!

Start Rite are much better than Clarks IMO.

PetiteRaleuse · 22/10/2013 17:43

When i was an au pair girl I worked for a very high up political family and met most of the government of the time and, actually, most of the current government. My employers were/are good friends with the current President and have read in the press since that they are close advisors in his inner circle now. Also met various other celebrities in the French champagne socialist scene. You know when i say met I mean I was the au pair girl so was in the room with rather than exchanging phone numbers and networking. I do have a couple of vaguely amusing indiscreet anecdotes but only if you're into French politics.

HeebeeJimsBee · 22/10/2013 18:04

I was out on a team work lunch today (i think poss the first one ever in 5.5 years!) and realised that i've been or am going out 4 times this week. I haven't been out that much since I was in my early twenties! Made me realise that my babies are growing up though and can be left without worry. That and i'm calling in my babysitting favours that i've been accumulating Grin. Tomorrow night we're off to see ed byrne so i hope he's good.

apple hope you're ok.

My claim to fame is that i was on tv - on 'schools challenge' the north west version of university challenge for 6th formers. The only starter for 10 i got right was bart simpson Smile we lost in the first round despite beating the other team 70-0 in the pre-show warm-up!

Haven't booked f's jabs yet, must do that. They seem to randomly remind you for some stuff round here but not others.

Lily311 · 22/10/2013 19:22

As an aupair I worked for Nick Robinson 11 years ago. Also saw Billie Piper many times as I worked on the same street as she loved.

Last night in the UK, we are flying home tmrw. I'm saying home as this trip made me realise that our place is in Hungary for the time being. Feeling rather sad and emotional. Took my little girl to her daddy's favourite place in London and she looked so happy. Will pop some pictures on Facebook later this week.

fruitpastilles · 22/10/2013 19:50

Does anyone else really struggle with brushing their lo's teeth? Every time I do S's she just sticks her tongue out to lick the toothpaste, I can barely get anywhere near her teeth. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

ValiumQueen · 22/10/2013 19:53

Lily it is good that you see Hungary as your home, but I understand why it makes you feel sad. Hopefully it will make life a bit easier for you back home after this realisation. I look forward to seeing your pics x

J is in his cot. Please God let him sleep. My mood spirals when he is ill and with the added pressure of being back at work I really need him to be well. Sophia you are right, there will be stuff in the HR policy to protect me.

It is his birthday Friday and I am working. We will have a little party on Sunday for him.

Det could you please forward your dairy free recipe for muffins as I need to make something resembling a birthday cake. He will have dairy and soya free choc buttons.
