Oh Trib - honey what an awful couple of journeys! TBH if you'd have made it to London Zoo, you'd have been p**sed upon there too and for more money! Could try fabreeze (sp?) in the car - I had an awful journey back in the car one time having spent the afternoon the wrong side of a couple of bottles of wine and too many very large glasses of port !!!(dh was driving I hasten to add, and he was less than impressed that I'd decorated his 6 month old car ) anyway fabreeze did a wonderful job then

Katz, bless your dd1, ds just wanted to know why my eyes weren't as good as the nice lady who was with us - apparently I'm silly because I couldn't see the dragon!

eastyorksmum · 24/07/2006 11:09

teabelly · 25/07/2006 13:26

EYM - so sorry to hear that, how long had it gone for?? I'm afraid I don't know much about epilepsy myself. I know you were so happy to be off the depression tabs, but hopefully knowing these tablets will help you to keep the fits at bay has got to be a good thing, yes??

2Happy · 25/07/2006 15:10

It's my birthday and I'll cry if I want to...etc
What's the point of turning 30 anyway. I think I shall say I am twenty-ten. Ha!
[tongue sticking out raspberry blowing emoticon to aging]

lua · 25/07/2006 15:41

Happy Birthday 2 happy!
How are you celebrating? Hope morning sickness is not too bad these days....

It does sound like you all had a lovely time! So ! I was stuck showing things around to a new recruit at work .

Trib, is DS ok? How about you, actually?

katzg · 25/07/2006 16:13

Lua - would you recommend your work place? i'm thinking of applying for a job there, well different department but same institution.

OP posts:
lua · 25/07/2006 16:30

Oh yes!! I think is a very good work place!! and it would be great to have playdates with the katz familty!!! [hopeful emoticon]

I might know somepeople on the relevant dept.... Do you still have the same e-mail? I could e-mail you with more details if you like...

sfxmum · 25/07/2006 17:54

yorkie - oh honey sorry this is troubling you again, how long has it been since you last had then? these days this can be well controlled as well you know, just make sure you are seen by a good neurologist, well worth it

2happy - have a nice birthday,its just a number anyway, enjoy

had a nice day, short training session in the morning then took the rest of the day off to spend with dd while dh went to a meeting. but its still too hot

lummox · 25/07/2006 18:13

yorkie, so sorry the epilepsy is back. my dad had it all his life and i know it can be really hard to deal with. hope that you are getting the best possible care.

trib - what a nightmare journey. hope that ds is better. sorry you weren't able to make it. hopefully you'll be able to make the june 05 babies calais booze cruise and nice French lunch that i am trying to convince everyone would be a good idea.

2happyhappybirthday. hoping being preg doesn't hamper the festivities too much.

all is well here. we had a nuchal scan last week and saw a good and wriggly baby, and the chances of downs are low. all seems a bit less exciting than first time round, though. feels like poor old number 2 child is already being neglected .

katzg · 26/07/2006 08:54

Lua - its in the life sciences department, well there are 2 jobs, i think i would probably comute and try and negociate working from home a day a week too!

EYM - sorry to here about the epilepsy returning, hope the Doctors can get it back under control again.

OP posts:
lua · 26/07/2006 12:24

Lummox - I felt that way with DS, that everything was less exciting... and was really mad that DH didn't even want to go the appts with me anymore!
Anyway, once DS popped out he never ceases to amaze me how completely different a child he is, and how completely new and excitement his developments is!
and just in case you were like me, and was worried that you couldn't ever possibly love anyone like your first, you can!

Katz - life sciences is a really vibrant place, with lots of money! The whole institution is very much family oriented, so should be very flexible... Is it a PI position? if so, you don't have to tell anyone what your hours are!

katzg · 26/07/2006 13:35

Lua - one job is a postdoc development officer and the other is a research business manager, i've got to make my mind up quick! closing date is tomorrow! the problem is the money is no different to now but would mean a commute. ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

OP posts:
teabelly · 26/07/2006 13:38

Happy belated birthday 2Happy

Lummox, I know what you mean - and I agree with Lua regarding DH's that don't come to appoints for 2nd ones, grrr, but I have to say for me I got all excited again when I felt DD move; it's suddenly all real again, and familiar - but then I really missed it when those little kicks and wriggles ended - I realise that not all babes give gentle kicks and not everyone enjoys the feeling of a little alien inside them!. TBH what Lua says is right, as soon as he/she is here you'll look back and wonder what you were ever worried about.
