Wow Frus. That's a milestone! Can't believe your baby can climb stairs already! Boo to being wide awake. We had a moment like that tonight too. Thankfully he is now fast asleep. Night all Grin if only

AGnu · 26/01/2014 01:08

Runt's still wide awake & wanting to be tickled! He keeps grabbing my hand, giving me a cheeky grin & pulling my hand towards his shoulder! Every time I look at him he giggles! Hmm

I only I... get 'kisses' too. Mostly him hurling his gaping, slobbery mouth in the general direction of my face, waiting until we collide & licking me! Grin I never got that from Calf. It's so wet gross cute! I'm more than happy for him to not be climbing stairs yet though. We have a gate across the living room door so they can't get to the stairs without our knowledge. Calf was 14 months & walking before we taught him to climb stairs. I like it when they stay still! Wink

I has a smile this morning, first one in 3 days so that's a relief!
Tiger climbed the stairs when she was 9 months, well before she could walk!! I'm glad kitten hasn't taken the plunge yet, I love finding her where I left her Grin

bringonthetrumpets · 26/01/2014 13:42

M hasn't made the decision to break out and start exploring. She's perfectly happy to sit and play with a little pile of toys. Yay to not crawling and getting into things yet.

M kept smacking herself in the face yesterday when she was feeding and now she's got a little black eye. It's really sad! Booger face and black eye, I look like a shit mum Sad

Gotta love the open-slobber kisses!

Is anyone else's baby constipated? I don't understand why baby pear is still suffering. He has a really healthy varied diet with plenty of veg, fruit and sips of water. I'm going to have to go back to the Dr for help with it. So frustrating...I just want to fix it for him!!

Avoid banana for abit maybe give him some prune juice?

peardrop2 · 26/01/2014 19:22

I upped his dose of Lactolose today and we had an explosion...nice! I haven't tried grapes because I'm scared of them but maybe I should give them a go. I need to soak some dried apricots too! He really does eat everything so I don't think there is one specific item that could be clogging him up. I've recently started giving him oranges (I didn't know that could help). He could do with drinking more water. My book says don't introduce water in between meals but I might start to do just that because the amount he takes after meals is really very little! Oooohhh I've been giving him white bread soldiers a few times this week! Could be that?!

peardrop2 · 26/01/2014 19:24

I've been avoiding banana and avocados for a while now. He's been on Lactolose since October. Every time I try to wean him off we go back to square 1 Hmm I do find it weird considering I'm cooking all his food and breast feeding. I even give him a selection of veg & fruit finger foods and purée veg everyday so it's not like he's not eating healthy. Annoying!

kittykatsforever · 27/01/2014 07:32

Doesn't sound like anything your doing pear, he may just suffer easily, the bread may have caused it but I gave kitten bread a lot on Holliday and it had no effect on her but different folks different triggers! As he comes off the lactolose it probably will clog him up abit as it's a change so however slowly you do it will probably effect him abit, if you want to try grapes just cut them in half for him and he should be fine, I'm not sure I ever cut them for tiger but my friend told me they are one of the worst choking hazards lol she still cuts them for her ds and he's 2 and a half! I've always given them to tiger at the supermarket in a pack to eat as we go round lol

peardrop2 · 27/01/2014 09:07

I've booked a GP appointment for tomorrow morning so I'll see what he recommends. My one fear is that if this carries on baby pear will fear going for a poo! I'm scared of grapes because I too have been told it's the one thing not to give babies/toddlers. Grapes and marbles are the no1 chocking hazards recorded in hospital (apparently).

I can are how a grape is, kitten has had them but in a hand thing with a bag called a nubi I think where only the juice comes out but I can't remember what age tiger ate them from but she's never had them cut, just straight from the stalk, that's a lie I always cut them when said friend visits Wink
Tiger was a terror for putting things in her mouth, everything she could get her hands on < shudders with memory>

bringonthetrumpets · 27/01/2014 15:20

Ohhhhh, somebody please make it stop! M is a still a sick kid and refused to sleep anywhere but ON TOP OF ME last night (ALL NIGHT). Not even next to me with a boob in her mouth, it had to be on top of me with a boob in her mouth. I'm so flipping tired.

Also, it's -45 degrees F again today and we can't go anywhere.

And the doula family that I interviewed with asked for a list of other doulas that I work with as I encouraged them to interview a few... and they bloody picked one on my list!

Great f'ing day so far.

Hmm
peardrop2 · 27/01/2014 17:22

Bring ~ you need a Wine Sad Sorry to hear you are having a really bad day. Is it policy to tell mums2be to interview other doulas? Are they insane not to pick you? Give me their number and I'll let them know they've made a HUGE mistake. She'll be lying in stirrups swearing that she should have picked you soon enough Wink

It's not really a policy, but it's just good for parents to explore their options. Still blows chunks to have gotten that email though. is it just customary to get bad news on mondays?

Oh dear, sorry to hear fruss Boys I tell ya. Hopefully it doesn't turn out that way tonight and hope you are able to get some actual restful sleep.

DH was very considerate today and came home for lunch so I could just take a freaking shower and just have 20 minutes to myself. Of course M cried the whole time, but at least someone was holding her instead of her crying in her crib.

How are things in the sleep department in the last few nights pear ?

peardrop2 · 27/01/2014 20:38

Bring ~ In my industry we don't let the sales team suggest looking elsewhere because the marketing stats always say that when people are told such information something in their head looses confidence in your offer and they always choose the other option. I'd love to do a secret survey to see how many clients doulas loose when giving out other options compared with just discussing their own service I know I know I'll be quiet now Wink

Baby pear has been in his own room for nearly a week now. It's taking longer to settle him at night but last night he slept from 2-6:30am which made me super pleased!

peardrop2 · 27/01/2014 20:42

Hang on. Did that just sound really patronising? Hmmm maybe Hmm Obviously Doulas are in a very different sensitive and human friendly field to hard sales. Not comparing the two in any shape or form!

kittykatsforever · 27/01/2014 21:25

I didn't think it sounded patronising pear, v interesting I'd never have thought that!
Sounds like you are having a shit week bring Hmm well done dh but it's not much is it, dh gave me an a bath time today but could hear kitten screaming while he was trying to juggle them both and make tea! It's never as relaxing to the sound of screams is it!
Kitten has am seemed a better today, no medi but stil a clingy bear and not my happy girl hopefully things improve for you tonight

peardrop2 · 27/01/2014 22:36

Why oh why do we have to beg or feel in our heads we're begging for just a little "me" time!!!!?! It's baffling! I swear I never thought a shower would be such a luxury Wink I now use Boots Sanctuary 4 day lasting shower gels / scrubs/creams it's got that bad!! They're actually very good!

Am I the only one still keeping baby pear in his newborn car seat? Has everyone moved to stage 1 yet? I'm thinking about buying the Maxi Cosi Axis.

Pear your probably the first apart from me we moved kitten just after Holliday into hers which is the maxi cosi axiss, I love it! I wouldn't have done it this fast probably although she does weigh over 19lb but I had told my friend who has had twins she could borrow it, she wasn't due til the end of feb but they have come at 33weeks so I've had to give it faster then was planned, didn't want to go back on what I'd said especially as kitten is the right weight for the next one but sometimes it's handy to have the one you can carry out while they are asleep

kittykatsforever · 28/01/2014 07:37

And y y to begging for time, dh just tells me oh I'm going out etc or even ruder just gets ready to go to footy etc no thought that it's not a right to just disappear
