I'm planning on being a SAHM... Well, technically I'm planning to be a teacher with a very small class! Grin

kittykatsforever · 19/12/2013 18:04

Not for me yet bring! I'm off til April Smile
Can't believe a friend would tell you it would piss her off if you become a sahm Shock yes I'm envious when people are in a position to be able to do it but I just think lucky them!!! It does not effect her family what you do, I'd love to be at home until the children go to school but with my job it's an impossibility as there are so few job vacancies it could be 10 years before one came up where I could travel to and I also have to keep my "eye" In as we call it so that I'm still registered and I do love my job too, most people have to make a sacrifice somewhere

I'm not back to work until May!

Glad I'm not the only one dealing with teeth. I'm still healing. The lady few days it's felt better but DS got bitey again today and it's opened up a bit again.

peardrop2 · 19/12/2013 21:00

Wow so many teeth on the bus Grin I am wondering If we are close to baby pears first tooth. His nappy rash has increased and his teething symptoms
just seems different this week.

How annoying that your little ones have come down with bugs so close to Christmas. I am hoping praying that baby pear does not catch my cough Hmm He's still snotty, two weeks later.

peardrop2 · 19/12/2013 21:01

Oh Lor Hmm perhaps my new dream to bf until June will be short lived when teeth arrive!

kittykatsforever · 19/12/2013 21:05

Owe oww oww lor, every time you mention it I go squirmey, I've not had a bite yet but the bottom two have just poked out, not so much teeth as the rectangle you see of its first appearance. Does that make sence? It's sharp already though
Frus she will be going in unless she's really bad tomorrow, she got no symptoms of anything other then a cough that she's had for the past few weeks but it seems to have picked up today, I might be a bad mum but dammit she's picked it up from there and it still costs me £40 quid!
I told them she had a little cough last week but not ill I.e no other symptoms of illness and full of beans and she said they all have one!
If I have to pick her up at least I'll hopefully get a few hours to accomplish things but apparently they only do if they have a temp and seem ill which she doesn't/isn't
I wouldn't mind if she was ill and wanted to cuddle and rest but she spent all day running around today singing

peardrop2 · 19/12/2013 21:11

Oh bless. Poorly singing Wink I squirm too Lore.

peardrop2 · 19/12/2013 21:32

Kitty I'm glad to hear you also think my friends expressed jealousy is wrong. I am really surprised that so many of my friends/acquaintances are struggling with my consideration. I know I've always been 'career' minded but I still have a right to consider all options. Sigh!

Once baby pear is settled I'm going to wrap more presents. This time with a glass of well deserved vino as DH is at work Wink

peardrop2 · 19/12/2013 21:38

Hope all the babies on the bus feel better soon xx

Has any of you managed any baking? I dreamt about making rosemary shortbread. Can't believe I actually thought for one second that I could achieve it Grin Another friend of mine brought over Christmas jam the other week. I asked her how she had the time to make it and she said that is what the jumparoo is for. I don't believe her! She has a 3 year old boy and a 11month old girl. You don't have time to make batches of jam all presented in lovely wrapping with ribbon...surely?! DH reckons she got someone to watch the kids. I bet this is true Wink Why oh why do mums feel so obliged to lie so much!

bringonthetrumpets · 19/12/2013 21:46

Poor sick bubbies on the bus. Sad

So...M got her jabs today. She was more upset about the nasty oral vaccine (rotavirus) than the actual jabs! She would look at the lady giving it and just burst into tears and then act like she just couldn't even handle looking at her for putting such horrible stuff in her mouth. Also, the doc ordered a vaccine for her (and that she got without me knowing) even after I requested that we wait for it to be given until she is at an age when it would actually be important for her to have(Hepatitis B). I found out after the fact when they handed me her updated immunization paperwork. I actually hunted the doctor down and asked her to put it in her chart that she not get anymore boosters until she is a teenager. I started crying, I was so upset. I know she will be absolutely fine with getting it earlier than I wanted... and the doctor felt bad and apologised and gave me a hug. It still just felt really wrong, you know?

Frusso I'm sorry you have to go back to work. I hate that we can't just evenly distribute the wealth evenly through the whole world and we all could stay home with our babies you may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us and the world will be as one Grin

Lor I'm wondering if there is some sort of skin adhesive you could apply to cover the spot up when you're feeding?

bringonthetrumpets · 19/12/2013 21:48

Yeah, I made some mincemeat this week.... But I waited until the kidlets were in bed. Does that count as mothering and cooking?

peardrop2 · 19/12/2013 22:00

Aww bring...In my eyes you're a super mum for having the energy to cook in the evening. I wish I could but baby pear wakes up if we flush the loo. Annoying! Plus he still needs RE settling at 7:30 and 9:30pm so it's not really practical to try out silent baking.

That's awful that they didn't respect your wishes and made the mistake. It's really hard to stay in control in that situation. We're all so vulnerable. Especially in the hands of doctors when you have little control on what's happening at the time. Hugs to you x

peardrop2 · 19/12/2013 22:01

Got to stop messaging and get on with wrapping Grin

kittykatsforever · 19/12/2013 22:48

Omg bring that's horrible, I'm sure she'll be fine like you say but it wasn't your wishes and that's what's important!
I've just spent the evening wrapping and ironing and cards etc, so tired now, it seems never ending and I do love Xmas but doing everything does take it out of you, dh just leaves it to me to sort out all his family and mine etc all the organising buying doing .....
Pear I do do quite a lot of cooking/ baking actually, not that I tie mine up in ribbons etc but if we stay in kitten pretty much always has a 2 hour nap in the morning and tiger likes her mix mixing, you can't tidy as she messes and she won't do nothing so it fits in nicely, she only likes to make things she likes though read chocolate biscuits, cakes and I spend most of the time telling her not to lick raw eggs out the bowl
I also make them food in batches when dh is off it gives me an excuse to be in the kitchen and have a break from the kidsWink
Oh and I actually made him make them some when I was taking them both out for the morning and he was at home , I have to set tasks or he plays all day on the xbox!!

kittykatsforever · 19/12/2013 22:52

Mixing is nothing though, have you seen what frus and Agnu have made in their free time?!? Shock

Lorelei353 · 20/12/2013 01:11

bring that's awful. The medical profession really need yo learn to listen more.

On the baking front I made Christmas puddings over a month ago - I can't buy them anywhere because of my allergies. DH watched DS exile I dud it. I usually bake cookies but won't have time this year.

Mostly sorted for Christmas. DH gas been a real struggle to buy fir, and he always gets me gorgeous thoughtful gifts. Pressure!

bringonthetrumpets · 20/12/2013 01:20

Tell me about it Lor! My DH is really hard to buy for too, hopefully he'll like what I got for him. He's really missing the BBC radio stations and I got him a digital internet radio so hopefully he can find them through that. bloody expensive enough, so it'd better!

M has really sore legs and she's really letting me know about it. Sad

Your posts make me want to go bake some cookies

Lorelei353 · 20/12/2013 05:31

Forgot to say, interesting ideas with the skin adhesive. I guess I'd be nervousog blocking any part of my nipple and preventing it from being drained properly.

I think it's ok. What ds did today wasn't as bad as I thought.
