I have managed to make 8 shortbread Christmas trees tonight. A complete disaster Hmm Took forever. Dough kept falling apart and Christmas trees stuck to chopping board even though I had sprinkled plenty of flour. Now I have to stay up for 30 minutes longer to see if they're edible lol Thinking I might just call it a night Grin

bringonthetrumpets · 20/12/2013 23:08

I have lots of unfinished crafts too, frusso Like a whole cabinet full. I see DH's eyes gloss over when I start talking about starting something new and he just looks at me like "go finish something in the cabinet...." Hmm

Mmmmmmm coooooookies........

AGnuMasqueradingAsAReindeer · 21/12/2013 00:10

Frus are we related? Grin I'm awful at not finishing things! I never start anything that isn't a gift with a deadline now because it just won't get done! Does anyone remember me talking about making a latch-hook rug for Runt? It was supposed to be done before he was born, then it was going to be a Christmas present... I've done nothing for the last week except knot little bits of wool onto a pattern to do the last third! The main rug is done now but I've still got to add a backing which is a basic cross stitch of his name - I bought the thread this morning & have finished half of his first initial... We're at PILs' now until Tuesday so I'm not convinced I'm going to manage to finish it but at least I can wrap it up & take photos of him with it. He'll never know it wasn't finished properly in time! Wink

Does everyone else have rolling babies now? Runt is very good at rolling onto his side but still hasn't rolled all the way yet. He's bizarrely good at wriggling to where he wants to be though. He just arches his back & cranes his neck & somehow that propels him!Hmm

Lorelei353 · 21/12/2013 02:12

Oh yes to rolling. DS wouldbe halfway across the room in seconds if I took my eyes off him. He'll roll and roll to get places and rarely stays on his back for any length of time.stillnot sitting unsuported really. Too keen to be moving to bother with sitting.

bringonthetrumpets · 21/12/2013 02:51

M can only roll from her back to her front. She hasn't figured out how to be mobile yet. She's really good at wriggling around on her front in a giant circle though!

peardrop2 · 21/12/2013 08:09

Interesting to hear about different rolls Smile Baby pear can roll back to front but he's more interested in sitting and this week started to bum shuffle. He can't go far yet but is keen to lean forwards and grab what he wants. DH keeps encouraging him whilst I'm quite happy for him to stay still Grin

Anyone else find that their baby goes off eating at lunchtime but increases milk intake? Two days in a row now baby Pear only wants solids in the evening. Could it be teething? Perhaps this is normal for every week to be hit and miss?

Frus, sorry to hear you have a headache Hmm

kittykatsforever · 21/12/2013 18:06

Could be anything pear, teething, fickle? These babies hey!!
Frus have you seen the salt dough decorations you can make? And easy recipie for a dough that they put hand prints in, then you bake to make it hard and can paint it like a Santa, for tree decorations.

kittykatsforever · 21/12/2013 18:07

Tiger still poorly, 3 times last night and a 6:30 wake up, doesn't sound as bad as your lack of sleep though frus [sympathys]

Urgh. I have a cold. Slight niggle in my throat yesterday & today a sore throat & painful ears. Stuck at PILs until Tuesday with a baby who's already getting fussy due to the unfamiliar environment. DH more interested in his dad & brother than helping with the boys. He actually had the audacity to ask me to go offer to help his mum in the kitchen. They're v into gender stereotyping round here! I told him in no uncertain terms that I couldn't trust him to watch Calf near the fire so wouldn't be going anywhere! Angry I did manage to escape for a nap while both boys were asleep though but even then DH was clearly not keen on the idea because I wasn't doing precisely what was expected! Sometimes I hate coming here! Sad

Hugs from afar for you. That majorly blows that you're sick right before the holidays! Hope it clears up.

Kitty do you think she's getting her 2-year molars?

AGnuMasqueradingAsAReindeer · 22/12/2013 01:13

Turns out DH was trying to get me to help because his dad had made some comment about how they should have had daughters so there'd be more women to help in the kitchen! Hmm It's a good thing I didn't hear that comment or I'd have completely exploded later on when he started going on about Nigella Lawson being 'ruined' & how she'd never sell a book again & his theory that she did authorise things to 'get back at him'. No mention of her being abused or him having done anything wrong... Angry Oh, & he kept referring to them as 'The Saatchis'! I genuinely don't know how I kept my mouth shut. He brought it up 3 times this evening! DH has been appropriately reprimanded for obliging his father's daft comment. MIL never accepts help when it's offered anyway. I gave up offering years ago!

bringonthetrumpets · 22/12/2013 03:33

Old men suck, ps. Old fashioned views, old and gross too. I wouldn't take it too much to heart, agnu. My FIL is very much the same way. Unfortunately a product of their culture and environment.

.... Also....

I may or may not have indulged on white wine whilst wrapping the last few pressies Grin Tipsy mn'ing is so fun!

Yes they were the salt ornaments I ment frus Grin we did kittens hand and foot when she was about 5 months but havnt painted them yet!
They all loved it
Bring she allready has all her molars now, got them a few months ago and we had one or two wake ups with there's something in my mouth but on the whole she was a star, she's just got a really bad cough, I'm just hoping it doesn't turn into the vomit cough I've been seeing all over fb Hmm
She was better last night only heard her at 9:30 and 5:40 but didn't need to get up to her then she woke at 6:45 so more human today!
unfortunatly kitten seems to have a little cough
