Not that their un-helpless now. They still couldn't exactly fend for themselves. But you know, they can scuttle, and make their wishes known loudly

Off for a bath. FC tonight is better. I do not wish to see 4am again.

Elizadoesdolittle · 04/10/2013 21:34

Woo hoo pikz How exciting.

pass when we were in Derbyshire driving late down some very dark country roads, an owl was in the middle of the raod, just starring straight into my headlights. He (or she I guess) sat there for quite some time. They are beautiful creatures.

bplp I did that once to E's car seat Blush I wasn't going far luckily and DD1 realised half way and said Mummy you haven't strapped E in. And I have done it to DD1 a few times but before I even pull off she shouts at me that she isn't strapped in. It is hard though letting them be driven by somebody else. I'm such a bad passenger as it is!

Well day has been ok here. Not great but nothing compared to most of you. I'm having tea and chocolate so I'll dish my share of the Wine out tonight.

DH is taking DD1 up to our local rugby club tomorrow to watch the team he used to play for. I am going to take myself and E off to bluewater. Hopefully she will be compliant.

Did all the babies have a meeting and decide that they'd team up and make last night the shittiest night ever?! I have had 7 hours sleep in the last 48 hours Hmm I'm treating it like it's teething as I can't think what else it could be, but can't get into her mouth to have a look or feel. Have switched to Calprofen tonight as Calpol seemed to have no effect last night at all.

So Cake Brew and Wine all round the quiche. I haven't had an alcoholic drink in almost 2 years, think I'll be on the floor after one glass now...

Stunt as a former teacher myself, a policy to only refer one child a year doesn't sound even remotely right to me. Push the school to have him assessed. If they won't then if you let me know where the school is, I could see if the work has a SN contact name at local authority level that you could email?

Hope you're doing ok GT? I wanted to congratulate you on reaching your one week of bf milestone!

Hmm, getting all soppy at the Johnson's Baby advert on TV not broody at all

Passmethecrisps · 04/10/2013 21:43

bp p amazes me daily nowadays with her forthrightness. But with it has come a cooryinness which she never had before. She now literally runs to me for cuddles and properly draws her knees up into me. Weirdly I don't remember p as weeny weeny for long. She always seemed quite a force. I remember vividly just before going to hospital with her with reflux she was upright in my arms holding her head totally straight and she was 4 weeks old. Is that a first baby thing that they seem a law unto themselves?

ChasingDaisy · 04/10/2013 21:59

Oscar doesn't give or like cuddles, but today he crawled the length of the room towards me saying 'mumumumumum' as he went Smile Makes a lovely change as he says dada constantly. His speech does seem to be developing quite a bit lately. I think he is concentrating on that now he has cracked crawling. He also learned how to roll a ball to me today Smile. We did that for a looong time Hmm

ChasingDaisy · 04/10/2013 22:05

The next time I have a RL conversation with anybody will be Monday. And XP has O overnight again tomorrow. Lonely times.

FatimaLovesBread · 04/10/2013 22:08

Ms random swollen eye is now completely fine, no idea what that was Confused maybe she poked it in her sleep?

We're going to the soft play early tomorrow with M's bestest boy friend Smile

TheDetective · 04/10/2013 22:12

O doesn't seem keen on playing games Chasing. I tried lots of things with him. He just likes being chased! Grin Or thrown around. Or some other rough and tumble activity. Round and round the garden is amazeballs. Allegedly.

O became more cuddly as he became more independent, crawling/walking. Before then cuddles were not forthcoming. Kisses and cuddles are now much wanted. Hmm

Pass Not sure, O isn't a first born, but is most definitely a law unto himself Grin. Although he might consider himself a first born given the age difference!!

Last night was fine here, surprisingly given O's temp. However today he has been clingy and grumpy, and had a couple of stinky nappies. Not much in the way of wet nappies though. So a little worried about that one.

Now, to work out what it is... cutting the dairy out again, as now I don't know if this is illness, teeth, or dairy. So will eliminate the one I know about!

Will try dairy again when this blows over.

I think it is more illness given the temp, and the fact DS1 and DP have both been ill. But, you never know, right?!

TheDetective · 04/10/2013 22:14

So we need a saturday night party then?!

Chasing my offer still stands for you to come visit!

I'm off for a week in November. And December. And February. Grin

YellowWellies · 04/10/2013 22:23

Det I've not heard of them getting a fever from CMPI and given he was so jolly in himself and the timescale I doubt it's that but fucking CMPI is just another annoying variable to have to worry about. It's like cluedo. It was the cheddar in the omelette in the kitchen wot did it Envy (I'm sure it wasn't) good luck - hope he's back to himself soon.

Jonas is a real sook now he's on the move too. I love watching his wee ass crawling off boldly across the church hall at playgroup - getting to the far side of a crowded hall, worrying slightly, looking for me and shooting back making smoochy faces to give me a big face licking snog. I luffs him.

Kyz · 04/10/2013 22:23

Evening guys, am here but can't find iPad and can't be arsed to get out of bed to get laptop, sorry! Sorry for all the shitty nights seems there were a few of them! Will catch up properly tomorrow. Stuff ok here, tired but ok, today has been a busy one

BigPigLittlePig · 04/10/2013 22:41

Bedtime in the pig house.

Several wake-ups from the littlest pig already I neeeeeed some sleep little lady!

Good luck all.

applepieinthesky · 04/10/2013 22:47

pikz congrats on booking the wedding. Will it be next year?

Crazy thinking about this time a year ago. Have been doing lots of reminiscing lately. It seems like it's flown by but at the same time I can't imagine life without C now. He amazes me very single day.

I feel like shite again. I have a horrible horrible feeling I'm pregnant. Despite being broody not so long back, I hope I'm not. I'm going to have to POAS soon. Think I have a test somewhere.

misslaughalot · 04/10/2013 22:48

QQ The Calprofen bottle says I can give 2.5ml three times a day. Does that mean I have to leave an 8 hour gap or can they be closer together as long as I don't go over the maximum in 24 hours (like you can with Calpol)?

TheDetective · 04/10/2013 22:53

They can be closer yes, as long as no more than 3 doses in 24 hrs. I tend to do a 3 hourly alternate rota with them when really poorly - like this...

7am calpol
10am ibuprofen
1pm calpol
4pm ibuprofen
7pm calpol

This leaves me with one dose of each for over night if required.

However sometimes they work better given together depends on the reason for them.

misslaughalot · 04/10/2013 23:01

Thanks Detective

GTbaby · 04/10/2013 23:08

Not sure miss. Think I would try space out over 24hours some what evenly. But take into account a longer gap over night.

Saw mw again today. A weight has stayed the same. Didn't like mw. She was same I has with H. Didn't help me with bf. other then saying keep trying. And was in a rush to leave.
She was nicer today but did mention how she helped me with bf last time! I wanted to correct her. But oh well.

She is concerned with lack of weight gain. Wants me to express after each feed and top him up with 2oz. I've expressed twice and I'm already sick of it. Tried giving top up with syringe. But he just wouldn't drink it.

Called hospital where I had A. Well FH did. Managed to get in touch with a tongue tie "person". She is setting up a clinic ATM. But said she would see us anyway. So go Monday. Hope she agrees to cut it.

Right going to catch up on today's chatter.

GTbaby · 04/10/2013 23:09

Apple Shock go POAS

izzybizzybuzzybees · 04/10/2013 23:10

Well there certainly ain't any dust here bp . J is downstairs still wide-a-fucking-a-wake!!!!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 04/10/2013 23:12

gt can you get to a BF help group?

PetiteRaleuse · 04/10/2013 23:25

LO was a pita re sleeping a few weeks ago but nursery seems to have given her a sleepy grip. Long may it last, and I wish I could sleep.

Rotten evening until the most magical thing happened. LO coasts between furniture but is a long way from walking. I am in the kitchen, the girls playing quietly entranced by In The Night Garden . I look up and see DD1 walking with LO. holding her hand and gently encouraging her to take steps. LO's first hand in hand steps in her life were with her big sister, right across the room. And DD1 who spends most of her time slapping or pushing over her lil sister was being so gentle and verbally encouraging her to take each step.

Kicking myself for not having my phone to hand to take pictures. I hope by writing it down here I will be able to treasure the memory forever. It was such a lovely surprise when I was right at the end of my tether after only having had them in the house for a couple of hours.

BEST EVER MUMMY MOMENT to date!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elizadoesdolittle · 04/10/2013 23:30

pr how wonderful.

misslaughalot · 04/10/2013 23:45

Awww PR that's amazing! It sounds like they're going to have a strong bond as they grow up together.

GTbaby · 04/10/2013 23:46

Yes I have managed one while week bf! Woop woop.

Izzy I've thought about the groups but tbh I'm so sore I don't want to go out. My feet are majorly swollen. My bits are very swollen takes me ages to sit down. I'm going to keep going to Monday and see what happens.

A managed a40 min feed today both sides at one feed. So hoping he will start feeding more. And with the nipple shield he is getting more from that boob as well.

The tongue tie lady seems very pro bf. told me to express but avoid bottles.
Mw said to express and use a bottle. Said we would discuss nxt steps on Monday. Kind of implying that he wouldn't have gained weight so something else would need to be done.

PetiteRaleuse · 04/10/2013 23:47

I hope so. I hope LO will forgive DD1 for the bruises :o It was magical.

DD1 had her first steps with me hand in hand on the edge of Lake Geneva, which is a great memory. But this almost tops that, despite the lack of photos. They were soooooo cute.
