Thanks PR Smile My friend has already offered her services and has told me to make sure I text her regularly so she knows I'm safe. Will make sure she has his full name and number too.

applepieinthesky · 17/10/2013 21:00

Good advice pr. Hope you have a fab time chasing but glad to hear you are being sensible too Smile

I heard today that my nephew's mum is pregnant again. She's only 25 and this will be her fifth baby, all with different fathers! I usually try not to judge others but I'm Shock Shock She will have four under seven years old. I'm wondering how I'll cope with two and this will in all likelihood be my last.

Called the Metropolitan Police this evening to give details of the man we met who bears a strong resemblance to one of the efits on the Crimewatch programme. They were very thorough and took lots of details. We found the photo today that we took of him with DP and the police will be in touch if they want us to forward it on to them. It may come to nothing but I have done what I can and my conscience is now clear. As the man said, they have had thousands of calls so hopefully one of them will lead to something.

On the subject of flying, I've just finished skyping my friend who is living in Dubai for 2 years. I'm thinking of going to visit her next year, which will involve flying by myself with 2 kids. Am I crazy? Hmm

pass welcome home.

apple I don't think I posted but I was so glad to read your update and that your DP is excited about your pregnancy. How are you feeling?

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2013 21:19

Me too apple! I was thinking about you earlier.

BigPigLittlePig · 17/10/2013 21:48

Evening all.

Have been reading but not posting, had a weird introverted few days pmt and didn't have much positive to contribute. Not sure I do tonight either but wanted to say hi.

Am glad to hear of job successes, impending dates, haircuts and sharts-that-aren't-sharts.

Hope kyz is ok - don't think I clocked a post from her?

Night all x

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2013 22:00

Hia! Am currently reclined on the sofa being sniffed by ageing pussy while DH takes pictures of a massive blister on my leg.

Nice to see you bp

Where is kyz?

PetiteRaleuse · 17/10/2013 22:15

Good point, where is kyz ?

That blister is ugly as.

You did the right thing apple

Kyz · 17/10/2013 22:15

I'm here guys don't worry, been trying to read but have been ever so busy. I will make time for you all tomorrow I promise, I hate not getting on cos it feels like I've missed out on the important things you all share. I have read, but been busy of an evening and unable to reply except for a short message and you know how I hate leaving things out!!

I did cry when I realised I had a secret Santa thing and when I read what it was all about. Thank you to whoever nominated me :)

Anyway, just about to go to sleep, had baby sis for the evening and she didn't fancy sleep so I haven't had time again to post bar this small post that is too small to be one of mine really I just noticed you'd noticed I wasn't about and didn't want anyone to worry.

If I can't do an epic post tomorrow I might still post an uncharacteristically small one to confirm my status as living etc :)

Glad we have heard from apple

vq are you and stunt and det ok? There was someone else too that I didn't think I'd seen for a little bit...

GTbaby · 17/10/2013 22:27

Had first poo explosion today from. Mini gt. lol. Not bad going at 3 weeks old. All down his leg in the baby grow so glad staying at mums cos she washed it for me. I would have chucked it in the bin!

Any tips on feeding using a sling? My boobs are big and ... droopy. Babies head would have to be low. Blush

PetiteRaleuse · 17/10/2013 22:43

Does A have a name yet gt ?

MissMummy1 · 17/10/2013 23:06

apple I too was sooo glad to read of your positive post too. Hopefully whatever info you have given has cleared your conscience as you say and may be of some help.

Hi kyz

QQ does anyone have the Maxi Cosi Pearl carseat? Pass I am sure you mentioned it at some point? Does it need a base? We have an easybase but am I right in thinking it needs a family base? Is it quite petite? And does it recline? Sorry that was lots of questions!

My quest for a second car seat for my new car (did I mention I am getting her tomorrow night?! Blush ) has also reminded me I haven't dealt with my mum issue. My mum has it in her head they have spent lots of money buying a safe car they can just buy a cheap carseat as M will "rarely be in it". this for a start is bollocks as she is in their car at least twice a week I am sure I have posted this whinge before. They won't let me just buy them one as "it will be wasted" and are really dragging their heels on this one. Arghh!

Kirrin · 17/10/2013 23:06

Nice to see you kyz and bplp :)

There are a few people AWOL atm. Haven't heard from bryzoan for a bit either? Hopefully everyone is just busy with life......

PurplePidjin · 17/10/2013 23:14

Madam they're being rude to you first by presuming on your time. Therefore it's not rude to reiterate your previous boundaries iyswim?

Chasing be safe Thanks

do we need a Lurker Amnesty?

PetiteRaleuse · 17/10/2013 23:16

mm1 afaik all car seats have to get past certain EU regulations. They are all safe, but some are safer than others. No idea where any of mine are on the safety scale. I wouldn't even have known where to look. Mine are based on price vs comfort vs ease of straps. Even the cheapest seats go through very rigourous testing. I would actually be more interested in the safety of the car - good braking system, airbags where needed (obv not in front of a rear facing seat). If you.re worried about the seat can she put it rear facing? Far safer if you're worried.

GTbaby · 17/10/2013 23:21

Nope. No name still. Last year we announced H name by having "happy bday daddy, love from H" on FH bday cake. with H bday party on Saturday I know the family will be expecting us to make a similar announcement. Heard mum n sis saying this!
Cos I came to my mums we really havnt spoken about it.
I have a few names I like, however only one name FH n I both like. So that's prob most likely, however not had a chance to fully discuss it or look at alternatives.

GTbaby · 17/10/2013 23:26

Hmmm Mm I have to say I kind of agree with your parents in terms of cheaper car seat because she wont use it as much. They are all safe. Cheaper ones are prob less comfortable. Ones I've looked at seem to be less padded.

YellowWellies · 18/10/2013 00:44

MM if your car seat won't fit in the new car maybe just give them that seen as you have to buy a new one anyway? Or am I missing something? I also agree with PR that it's the car and the driver as much as the car seat. Your Mum won't be doing late night or long distance drives and she's not someone who has many accidents - whereas you've had a bad run so you're possibly a bit more nervous about the issue? But there are cheap car seats and cheap car seats - maybe get some Which recommendations as to the safest and easiest to fit? As even the priciest car seat is useless if fitted wrong. Don't worry so much about a name - our car seat was 40% less than a Maxi Cosi but kicks it's ass in the safety tests.

Bryzoan · 18/10/2013 04:33

I'm here kirrin Smile just been really busy. I am in the middle of trying to make sure dd's statement of sen is clear about and provides her what she needs - and also fighting for her to start school in reception a year late as she was summer born and prem on top of her other issues. So all my time when the kids are asleep or occupied has been spent grappling with sen law or schools admission guidance. Nearly there with a first response to the proposed statement and set of arguments for the delay though. And am enjoying getting my teeth into a good bit of work. And am pleased as I feel what I have come up with is pretty kick-ass. Tired though as have had lots of late nights. Good news is g is sleeping better. Thank Friday for that! He is also getting more gorgeous by the day. He and dd keep making kisses at eachother at the moment, completely without any suggestion from me or dh. It is just too sweet (worth the crazy time trying to cope with both their needs at the start GT).

Apple - very glad things are looking good.

Stunt - I'm on the edge of my seat re your tww!

Happy Friday vibes to all Grin. Date sounds lovely Chasing. I would also fb stalk him to check he is who he says he is just to be safe. But I bet you are on to thar already Grin.

Apple x

Lily311 · 18/10/2013 06:22

Had a lovely day with chasing yesterday, O is a real heartbreaker, so flirty. chasing will be in trouble in ten years time! how will she stop him going after the girls I have No idea.

Seeing more friends today, I'm so tired.

StuntNun · 18/10/2013 06:57

Qq quiche, J was thrashing about and threw himself backwards so the back of his head hit my cheekbone cue much screaming and sobbing from me, his head seems to be fine. I have put ice on it but it is coming up in a bruise and it's very tender and sore. I want to go to A&E but DH thinks it is fine. I'm wondering whether he's worried that it might look like he has hit me and that's why he doesn't want me to go to the hospital. Maybe it is fine but I thought I should get it xrayed just to be sure. Tbh I don't see the big deal, I can take the kids to school then drive myself to hospital, I would just need someone to take J out of the room if I need an xray.

stunt I would imagine if was broken you would be in excruciating pain, are you? I would say it was worth a trip to a and e if so, I am sure they have seen it before. DS1 was bouncing a couple of weeks ago while I was dressing him and he bounced is massive square head right into my chin and I had a big egg come up on it. ( I didn't put two and two together when I first saw it I thought I was sprouting a large boil and it felt so tender I was mortified, and then I remembered)

mm I thought what pr then said! all car seats will met regulations so I wouldn't worry too much! is mainly comfort.

O is a grump. Really struggling to settle at nursery, but they keep having him in for really short bursts at his lunchtime sleep time so no wonder he is a grump and I don't know what anyone's opinion is but I don't think it works. They need longer stretches. His key worker is worrying but I keep saying that when they have him in for a whole day I am sure he will start to settle. Grr. DS1 has been a superstar.

DH home today, and I have my kitchen back from the floor fitter (I haven't lost the floor fitter he is doing the back hall utility, downstairs loo and guest room today, is never ending this week) anyway I am fashioning a beouf bourguignon in the joy of having the kitchen back for the first time since Monday.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 18/10/2013 07:44

Oh and pikz yes the Karndean is super, now it is running the whole way through it looks stunning. Really delighted with it.

StuntNun · 18/10/2013 07:53

It's pretty bad Sophia but not so much after ice for 20 minutes and some Ibuprofen. He hit me on the point of my cheekbone (where you apply blusher) but it hurts up round my eye and down my jaw. DH has gone to work so I'll see how I am in an hour once the boys are at school. I've seen too many injuries made worse by not being treated correctly at the time, especially my crippled dog, to take a chance. I'd rather spend my morning in A&E waiting for an x-ray iyswim.

Bryzoan · 18/10/2013 07:53

Stunt - go to a and e. I'm sure you'd find a nurse who would be delighted to hold j while they take the x-ray. It us so quick. You will need to tell them you might be of though. Hope you feel better soon. That's one tough nut your boy has!
