Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Talking of biting, O bit me really hard while feeding last night. I managed to train him out of it when the first two teeth came through so not sure why it's starting again or what to do as it hurt so much I practically starred crying.
Am also wondering if feeding will prevent our chances of conceiving the next one as ideally we'd like it asap. Can I really nosily ask those of you pg already how often or if you are still bf? He only feeds about 5 times in 24 hours these days..

utopian99 · 02/10/2013 15:11

lazza we've found sudocream works wonders..

SpottyTeacakes · 02/10/2013 15:44

Utopian have you got your periods back yet? I got mine back a month after ds started sleeping through.

Lazza have you got any of the cream left from the dr?

BopsX3 · 02/10/2013 15:55

Just made a complete twat of myself at the dentist Hmm when he's finished with my teeth I tried to rinse my mouth out but because my face was numb on one side I ended up dribbling all down chin. Then I tried to walk out of there with the protective glasses on. He asked me if I'd forgotten anything so I patted my pockets and said no, then he reminded me I still had the glasses on. Then booking my next appointment I couldn't talk properly so sounded like Oliver babbling away Grin I am the worlds biggest fool!

BopsX3 · 02/10/2013 15:56

Lazza I second sudocrem. It works miracles Smile

lazzaroo · 02/10/2013 17:16

Thanks, we've been using sudocrem & E45 so will keep going! Yes spotty but I wasn't sure it was okay to use it again. Do you think it'd be okay?

utopian99 · 02/10/2013 17:34

No periods yet spotty. (Never thought I'd actually WANT one!) O is still not sleeping through, but will happily choose to go for 5 hours without milk even during the day, in favour of solids and water to drink.

SpottyTeacakes · 02/10/2013 17:51

Lazza I would just don't use it for more than five days or so.

Utopian I always heard they're more likely to return once they're sleeping through. Milk production is at is highest between 2 and 6am.

Barbeasty · 02/10/2013 18:06

After DD my af didn't start until about 6hrs after we started ttc, and DD didn't sleep through until I was about 4 months pregnant with DS. I was still breastfeeding on demand when I got pregnant, though not much at night.

Exhausted after walking miles at work today, then making mincemeat and starting to make quince& apple sauce (which might be frozen in a minute, rather than bottled as I've hit exhaustion point!)

And now DH will be late back so bed time to be done on my own.

SpottyTeacakes · 02/10/2013 18:58

Ds Is so grumpy with his teeth he's not sleeping and dp has buggered off to football to leave me to get both dc to bed. Dd's been awful lately anyway and ds just keeps waking up crying Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 02/10/2013 19:02

Change of plan dp just phoned to say his accelerator cable snapped [snigger] so he's meeting his boss to try and fix it then he will be home Grin

utopian99 · 02/10/2013 20:04

Bwa hahaja for your dp spotty!

Was talking my mum about bf vs biting vs sleeping. She said in her day they had q bottle with a bag inside that collapsed as you drink so more like bf, anyone heard of something similar?

O is so cute with dh now; he has developed a 'chase me' game he plays with dh when he gets home, involving proper giggling fits. I. Shall be reading your slug stories to dh later. He has a proper phobia of them. Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 02/10/2013 20:07

Utopian is your dh 'fun time daddy'? Dp is and always was with dd too. As soon as they see him it's suddenly play time to them!

utopian99 · 02/10/2013 20:15

Pretty much! Recently he's been putting a lot of time into become 'cuddles daddy' as well, so he can help at nights now milk is less of an essential; they'be spent a lot of time slinging together (I got him an r&r finally). It's pretty sweet how happy he is about it actually. Smile

halestone · 02/10/2013 21:18

Talking of slugs i've just gone to put a dirty nappy in the bin outside and stood on one barefoot eeeeee i want to vomit!

lazzaroo · 02/10/2013 21:18

Thanks spotty, I'll give it a go.

Definite Funtime daddy in this house. He is particularly good at winding DD up before bed! I guess it's even more so because he's away for days at a time.

Never heard of that kind of bottle utopian.

WillYouDoTheMonsterMash · 02/10/2013 21:43

I looked into that kind of bottle Utopian when DS had his tongue tie and couldn't latch. I'll trawl my threads and get back with a name.

Ugh Hales our patio is infested with them. In the week before I went away I stepped on 5 slugs or one hardy slug 5 times. That's when I started bringing in the tumble drying in shoes!

WillYouDoTheMonsterMash · 02/10/2013 21:52

I can't find the thread utopian, sorry

WLmum · 02/10/2013 22:48

Yuk hales! I am so glad I'm not the only one with a slug tainted child though!

utopian if you read DH the slug stories he may never put ds down again!

Fx we all get some good sleep tonight.

WLmum · 02/10/2013 22:50

Loving the name willyou. We foolishly agreed to let dd1 have a little Halloween party this year. It'll be a bit if a pita but cute though.

ISpyPlumPie · 02/10/2013 23:03

Thanks for all the good wishes. First day back was fine - really nice to catch up with everyone properly and had just the right amount to do so I felt useful without it being too hectic.

DH's refusal to take more than two consecutive days' annual leave this year has had the unexpected bonus of leaving him with enough holidays to look after N one day a week for a month, and it worked out brilliantly today. He apparently didn't get upset at all and settled perfectly well without milk. Luckily he did want a big feed as soon as I got home though, as it felt like my boobs were going to explode!

Utopian - I was still bf on demand when I got pg, but as DS1 was 2 it was at a much reduced rate (although we never did manage to fully nightwean until he stopped altoghether). My periods came back at about 14 months iirc so I'd had them for a year beforehand - only took 2 months ttc compared to 8 first time round though. Will keep fx it all works out for you.

Slugs have a habit of congregating near our doorstep in the rain too so I've had the odd squelch underfoot when putting something in the bin - Hales I feel your pain!

utopian99 · 03/10/2013 02:19

Thanks ispy and beasty, good to know. (Not about the slugs!) Also loving the name willyou; so the bottle does still exist if I can only find that thread?

Dh suitably horrified by slug-sucking stories and urgh hales!. He may be having nightmares tonight! Bwa haaaaa...

WLmum · 03/10/2013 02:22

Right that's it. Hardcore cc coming Ts way. I've been up for 2 hours again. She's had cuddles/milk/neurofen/milk/cuddles/patting etc. for the first time with her I felt really cross and now can't sleep as I feel really wound up.
I keep hoping a gentle push will be enough and then making excuse. She didn't eat much today so probably was hungry but its going to have to be tough. I need sleep.
Rant over!

WillYouDoTheMonsterMash · 03/10/2013 04:12

Utopian I think I'm thinking if something slightly different that you use at the beginning to stimulate supply and stop nipple confusion, I had a quick google and couldn't see the bottle your mum means.

WillYouDoTheMonsterMash · 03/10/2013 04:15

Ugh I hate the two hour wake ups WL, sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

J's back to 2 night feeds at the minute but I'm going to wait until this huge molar is through before deciding what, if anything, to do.
