I love lazy Saturday mornings in front of BBC Breakfast.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/09/2013 08:52

gti can imagine! yes I really can! You feel that if only you could at least sit comfortably you could go the extra mile to sort out the bf'ing and cope with the nipple issues etc. (DCs 2 and 3 the worst for me re fanj issues) anyway, assuming all is normal then this is probably all the bruising coming out and healing itself so just think it is just getting better. I had ice packs that you slipped into a sleeve and put down there which helped you can get the in mothercare.

If you feel you need to make a meal of it and stay in for another night then do. Don't worry about FH he will cope somehow and you seem to have lots of helpful family.

A beautiful sunny autumn day. Off to messy church and the Threshing Day! Then over to SIL for alcohol and nibbles with her and other SIL.

chasing I would! and have done cards! but tbh it has petered out now the girls are older. My dad does them for me with them and their other nana does it for FexH!! As you say keep it civil. I treat my exH like a work acquaintance. I am always pleasant, I never argue, and if he tries to start an energetic discussion I usually ignore it! I think that really pisses him off! Grin

fruitpastilles · 28/09/2013 09:22

S looooooves bubble guppies, especially the line up everybody bit.

Passmethecrisps · 28/09/2013 09:36

Morning.

Just realised I didn't say hia to horsey! Luffs ya horsey!

Before having p I didn't really get how people with kids could look forward to the weekends - they still got up early and they still run around after kids. Sitting here watching the Bake Off with a coffee in my hand and a baby napping upstairs makes me get it. Just the slower pace. I cannot believe how little I used to do! So I get your BBC Breakfast moment pr

I think p is developing a cold. She woke this morning with a rattly cough and has been a bit miserable. Can someone remind me what temperature she should be? I have an underarm thermometer. We are going to a wedding later so hopefully she cheers up after her nap.

Stroller ordered for our hols. Just need to order a travel cot now. Any ideas? I was also going to buy lots of Ella's kitchen food as I don't want to be thinking about making food as soon as we arrive.

48 hours and DH finishes the bloody thesis. Feel like I have written every word!

P loves coat hangers too bp!

And I dreamt I visited VQ last night. She had a beautiful house in a lovely village which was nestled deep in some woods. It was very nice.

YellowWellies · 28/09/2013 09:45

GT get lansinoh cream for your nips from boots. Nips will toughen up soon too. Thanks on the fanjo (stitches?)

Passmethecrisps · 28/09/2013 09:51

Lansinoh is the dog's bollocks. Just. do. No. Pick. At. Your. Nipples!

GT I really feel for you at the moment. I wish I could give you a real life cuddle. You are doing an amazing job. What about names? Will you do the same name must begin with a letter thing? What about the 13th day party? I remember your picture and how beautiful you looked - I looked like a bag of shite when p was 13 days old!

BigPigLittlePig · 28/09/2013 10:02

Pass was the house made of gingerbread!?

YY to Lansinoh and not picking. I'm very excited to hear all about the name-picking and 13 day party - missed it all the first time round. Probably a good job as I am fit to burst with excitement over one baby, can't imagine what state I would be in if there were multiple quichelettes.

PetiteRaleuse · 28/09/2013 10:05

Just thought I'd direct your attention to this thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/1865039-Tell-me-something-fabulous-about-your-child?pg=1

I'm going to add it to my watch list and reread it when I'm having a bad mummy moment.

pass are you looking forward to your trip to France?

DH and I stayed up until 2 chatting about his work problems. We didn't even get started on mine. I have never wanted so much to win the lottery.

Passmethecrisps · 28/09/2013 10:06

Nipple picking marked the end of my BF/expressing journey BP. Thought it was dried on lansinoh. It wasn't. I picked a massive hole in my nipple and it was fucking agony. I remember someone coming on here a week or so later and saying "I have some dried on lansinoh on my nipples. Should I scrub it off?" And being "nooooooooooooo!"

PetiteRaleuse · 28/09/2013 10:09

Ooh I had a proud mummy moment yesterday. Do you remember how my fabulous purées were rejected in favour of Nestlé when LO started weaning and I was mighty pissed off about it. Nursery told me yesterday that they fight over who gets to feed her because she is so easygoing and tries and enjoys everything. Despite the fact they can't spoon feed her and she throws food all over the place and they have to clean it up the fact that she so obviously enjoys food is a pleasure for them. I love getting compliments on my girls.

Passmethecrisps · 28/09/2013 10:10

PR I really, really am. It is SIL's apartment which overlooks the promenade des anglais (that is spelled wrong I know) and is very chic. DH has told me he wants to take p out every day for a walk just the two of them so that they can have time together and I can have time alone. I am so excited. I don't care what the weather will be like.

Work can be such a bitch when it isn't right. I used to spend my time on the commute to work planning how I would spend my lottery win. I have never even entered! I think you guys should buy a ticket today

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/09/2013 10:12

gt you've just pretty much describe my first couple of nights with DD1. As others have said, slap on the lanshioh cream, it does wonders. Get as much pain relief into you as you can and I know this is easy said than done but rest as much as you can. I was desperate to get out of hospital with DD1 and found everything so much easier when at home. However with E I was planning on staying in hospital as long as I could so i could bond and establish bf without the worry of having DD1 to look after (that all went tits up since I didn't actually make it to the hosp at all!). Anyway, I digress. Try not to worry about DS1, he will be fine and although FH may not do things exactly as you would he will be well cared for. He is going to be a great big brother.

lily am glad the ear infection is clearing up.

Off to a coffee morning at mil church this morning, then swimming and I'm out this evening with girls I met doing pregnancy Pilates with DD1. Going to a Greek taverna. Yummy.

Passmethecrisps · 28/09/2013 10:12

Fabulous pr! The CM told me the other day that p was "the best fed baby she has ever met" It feels good.

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/09/2013 10:17

pass your holiday sounds lovely. You've probably already said but when do you go? Re travel cot, we have a gracco one I think. I think they're all pretty standard. No need to spend a fortune.

pr sounds like there are going to be many more late night chats. Wine

Passmethecrisps · 28/09/2013 10:22

We go a week on Monday eliza. I am actually not usually much f a holiday person but I really feel the need for this one.

GTbaby · 28/09/2013 10:24

Crying baby. Not my baby making me wana Confused pls don't wake my baby.

Thank you for the bf advice. Just been skimming thro.

Watched an episode of dexter last night. House of cards is also on my list.

Going to go home today at some point.

Will go temple on way home to get a letter. Prob won't have a 13th day celebration. As it falls on a Monday. But with the mil who knows!

Think I might sneak in another dexter while he sleeps.

Passmethecrisps · 28/09/2013 10:26

Get one snuck in GT!

DH has just texted to say that thesis is now so large it crashes the computer whenever he types something new. So glad this is over soon. Worse than labour!

PetiteRaleuse · 28/09/2013 10:32

You probably won't be able to swim in the sea but the weather can be lovely in autumn down there. The weekend LO was born in October we had 25 and it was higher than that down south. It's going to be fab am Envy

And you spelled it right :)

GTbaby · 28/09/2013 11:03

Yeah right pass. NB poops are gross.

Need to start recording feeds. Can't remember when I feed him

ChasingDaisy · 28/09/2013 12:04

Oscar has gone for 24 whole hours Sad But I have purchased a suitably cute outfit for tonight and am enjoying a baby-free Costa.

PR I love getting compliments about O too. XP told me today that XMIL said that O is being brought up very well and that he is very polite and intelligent. She also saw the video of him crawling and said he looked really happy - especially when he heard my voice Smile I luffs my boy.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/09/2013 13:13

What is your outfit chasing fb pic please.

I too need fashion help.

I need a new dress. A sort if suitable for church kind of dress for autumn winter. With a pattern. Under £100. All my dresses At the mo seem a bit worky and I have tended to go for all one colour, which obviously has more gravitas for the office. But now I don't work. But I don't want to be mumsy, just a bit more frivolous. Any great ideas?

PetiteRaleuse · 28/09/2013 13:21

No ideas sophia but pinterest could well be your friend. Otherwise style and beauty threads on here are full of knowledgeable people.

TheDetective · 28/09/2013 14:07

What shops/brands do you like Sophia? I'm a cheap bird Grin. But I do like to look at other stuff I can't afford!.

My ebay bundles end tonight. Better make good money. Or I will be Angry and then cry! So far my best bundle of 3-6 Next stuff is at £16 .

I am going to my mums for some kind of pub quiz thing tonight? I don't care. Either way it appeals to my competitive nature, and I get to dress up in a revealing dress and annoy my mother in one fell swoop!.

Awesome!

Only thing is, I am still sat here in PJ's and not showered. I figured I should wait til the last minute. So I am ready just as DP gets home to take over with O. As I just know he will pull my hair/puke on my dress/shit on my shoes. Good plan??!

As I just posted on FB, I have just commenced operation trial dairy. PLEASE let O not react. PLEASE! I can live with tomato allergy. Really, I can. But please let this one go...!

He is in the cot - self settling. A week ago, we tried tomato and he just couldn't sleep after it. So this is better......

Eeeeep.

ChasingDaisy · 28/09/2013 14:11

Definitely last minute Detective! I made that mistake on Thursday night, waiting for P to come round and I ended up with dinner splattered on my top and laddered tights!

Oh, btw, for everyone else, the P above is non-date guy's initial - he isn't my partner unfortunately

Good luck with the dairy trial. And well done on the self settling O, any tips for how I can encourage my O to start getting himself to sleep?

TheDetective · 28/09/2013 14:33

Well, then I'll just have to sit here a bit longer in my PJ's then, won't I ;)

Am planning on showering with O, and then giving him his tea (first try of sausage as I'd finally found some free of dairy/soya!) while I do my make up. Then he can watch In the Night Garden while I do my hair.

Sorted watch it go tits up!

Chasing tonight's the night...!! Grin Text me with any updates! I shall have my phone surgically attached to my hand while at my mums!

No tips on self settling. The sheep works, but then I think he can do it without too. I just put it on as it seems soothing, plus he isn't then in the dark. O's sleep just sort of came together all at once. I must work out when it was. I think it was about 8-10 weeks ago now? I'm not sure. I know it was around the time the 4th bottle was dropped, and thus he was no longer night feeding. Self settling seemed to come as part of the package?!
