Oh my god det I don't know whether to laugh or cry, poor you, poor O! I'm terrible for not letting S go nappy free, this has just reminded me why lol.

Elizadoesdolittle · 27/08/2013 19:28

detectives story reminded me about a story a friend at work told me. Her youngest DS had done a poo. She started changing him on the floor in the living room but her nappy box was empty. She literally dashed to the next room to get one. When she came back her DS1 was eating the poo out of the nappy and had smeared it all over DS2. There's lovely for you.

Pikz · 27/08/2013 19:39

Vq thank you so much. Have had a hell of a day. He's now in bed. How is J now?

Det I think after all the poo I have seen today I am thankful I banned nappy free time ages ago!

Lily welcome to the world of the movers!!

Big hugs all round. I need Wine but am forcing myself to exercise first.

ValiumQueen · 27/08/2013 19:58

J has just woken seconds after I came to bed. Different rooms so I have not disturbed him. He felt cool earlier when I checked him, and he was babbling and blowing raspberries in his sleep. I have no idea why his temp went up. Hope it stays down.

Pikz I hope you have an uneventful night x

Donnadoon · 27/08/2013 20:26

BigPigLittlePig · 27/08/2013 20:40

We have movement! She crawled 2 steps (steps? shuffles? clunks?) in pursuit of a packet of wet wipes Grin I nearly cried Blush.

DH is under strict instructions re: the stair gate!

Passmethecrisps · 27/08/2013 20:46

Duders. Hahahahahahahahahaha. iPhone wants to correct duders to udders! Hahahahaha

daisychain76 · 27/08/2013 20:48

Hello all, hope LO is better soon Pikz and that you feel bettter as wwell eliza. Sorrry to hear of more bad nights. Dh was up most of the night with H laast night appaarently, but l slept through it all Blush

Needed the sleep. Took older 2 dcs on train to Southport for a play on the beach and fish and chips today. 2 hours each way by train. Alternate demands for food and moans about being borred every 2 minutes. Would say neverr again, but l always forget the bad bits by the next summer Smile

Passmethecrisps · 27/08/2013 20:49

Hi 5 to a moving F BP! Get that stair gate put up!!

And more hi 5ing to lily's O for moving

eliza you have been through the mill and the wringer. Hell's teeth!

Weird about the temp spike VQ. Very odd indeed.

BigPigLittlePig · 27/08/2013 20:49

Det I just read dh Os latest, erm, antics. His response? "He's a bit of a bugger isn't he!" There are 2 MN people dh knows about. Chasing (for her heroism), and O Grin

Passmethecrisps · 27/08/2013 20:54

Oh aye. And pikz you were wondering about doc visits? I took p to the do after 5 days of unusual poo activity. No other unwellness at all. I think I would be taking L tomorrow if for no other reason than you are obviously worried and he is poorly. It is more than likely teething but worth a visit. My doc very patiently went through all the indicators with me using p as a wee exemplar - I nodded my head enthusiastically while thinking "yeah. If I am worried I will still be bringing her back in"

And Envy det. Is he nappy free I take it? Poor p never, ever gets nappy free.

BigPigLittlePig · 27/08/2013 20:57

F had 10 minutes of nappy free time yesterday. She weed no less than 3 time, THREE! Twice on a blanket, once on the bathroom floor. No way is she going nappy free once she's highly mobile!

Passmethecrisps · 27/08/2013 20:59

Ok. This morning I had cheese on toast for brekkie. I had it hanging out of my mouth while trying to sort p out (she was crawling under all the chairs in the kitchen clambering all over DH's shoes). She grabbed it amazingly quickly (GT?! Babies grabbing food!) and stuffed it in her mouth. I has my hands full of her so I had to shuffle about to get it back out. The whole while (maybe 10 seconds ) it was on her mouth p had a "where have you been all my life" face on and looked panicked when I yanked it off her. Little bizum.

Apparently she was in good spirits all day with the only unusual thing being that she refused to nap in the afternoon when she usually sleeps 2 hours. Might mean something, might not. However, now she has tasted the deliciousness that is cheese I am keeping my toast well away from her.

TheDetective · 27/08/2013 21:09
Blush

Yes. He's a bugger alright! Grin

But looks so innocent with it too. Hmm

So. I'm fucked.

TheDetective · 27/08/2013 21:12

I can't wait for O to sample the dairy delights out there... poor monkey :(

Maybe that's the reason for his behaviour?! Revenge for keeping the cheesy goodness away from him?!

After the last poo incidence, nappy free is a thing of the past. He'd just got out of the shower when the GP rang my phone for my appt. He scooted off as I was talking for all of 3 minutes. And in that time, he caused such mass panic. Me and DS1 were not happy!

Passmethecrisps · 27/08/2013 21:22

A life without cheese is sad. Not that I intend p to have more for a while. Too scary and cheese on toast was not what I meant when I thought I would gently test her. She is just very grabby

Kyz · 27/08/2013 21:25

Evening all :) Dunno what's going on here, e was ever so unsettled at bedtime so I gave calpol. He has drained all 3 bottles today and has eaten 'easy' foods like an ek pouch and a yoghurt, and some fruit, but refused jacket potato (he has eaten it before) and hasn't bothered with other finger foods like toast etc. I wonder if it's teeth. I guess it sounds like it probably is. Was just about to stop offering that third bottle but I won't now he's drinking it again, seems a bit unfair and I do worry about when he's offered less milk but doesn't eat solids and I have no backup bottle so to speak. Thanks for the reassurance guys :)

Aaanyway enough about me/us...

Not long now gt - actually how long is it now until your due date?

glad you went to the docs eliza and I hope you get better soon :)

hope J is ok vq

det as long as he doesn't turn into my brother you'll be alright - he used to eat the contents of his nappy after both naps each day for months on end. It really did not matter what we did, he ALWAYS did it, and smeared it all over his cot. He would be seen to the minute we heard him on the baby monitor but he was like a silent little ninja. Drove my mum insane it did!

hope you have a nice day tomorrow lily :)

why thankyou donna I aim to please and I talk far too much it seems

woohoo on the moving bplp and lily

pass e is very quick too, only the last thing I had to fetch from inside his trap was the corner of an envelope. He got to the post before I did!

erm... what else...

It's been quiet today!

Oh, MIL gave e some apple for breakfast this morning. Don't think she stewed it. Must ask. Anyway, he survived. Is he allowed non stewed apple now or still not because he has no teefs?

I am right not dropping the 3rd bottle after his recent behaviour with lunch aren't i? He seemed ready to drop it before but then the last two days have proved otherwise. HV reckons to drop another one by the time he's 10 months but didn't really say why and I just said i'd drop it when he drops it but you all know how I fret over my decisions!

TheDetective · 27/08/2013 21:37

I just remembered - we've had a crap time with naps today, several wake ups. On one particular wake up I was patting his bum while Ewan was harping away. The next thing, the battery dies and it makes that annoying fecking beeping noise that's guaranteed to wake a baby ffs and O grabbed the harp paw and was pressing it over and over! I had to prise the damn sheep out his grubby little paw and throw the fecking thing out the door in frustration!.

I love how he turned it on at 5am the other morning when he woke. I don't know why but it really makes me chuckle!

They aren't as daft as they make out, are they?! Wink

TheDetective · 27/08/2013 21:39

I've given O raw apple before. I think it is okay. He has 2 teeth though?

With the bottle, you could try dropping it, give him extra calcium through cheese, yoghurts, milk in breakfast etc. See what happens? You could always just give it later in the day if he needs it.

O has his late afternoon, not having had one since before breakfast.

I am very glad O is not your brother! I'd definitely die on the spot at that one!!! I am glad to be going back to work then to leave it all to DP!!.

O had some little crispy things on his tray tonight. Along with peas. The crispy things all got eaten. The peas got fed to the dog one by one.

The boy makes me laugh Grin.

TheDetective · 27/08/2013 21:41

As in, the dog sat open mouthed by the highchair, as O painstakingly picked each pea up practicing his pincer grasp, then put his hand over the side of the chair and dropped it straight in to the dogs mouth. About 20 times. Grin

daisychain76 · 27/08/2013 21:47

det l love reading about his antics. Can?t wait to hear what he gets up too as a toddler Smile

kyzH had raw apple with no teeth. BLW web site suggests it can be a bit of an awkward texture for babiees to cope with, but E clearly managed, so must be doing well.

Pikz · 27/08/2013 21:48

Det does he have a bombs away noise... L makes a noise when he's going to drop something... If you say what are you doing he looks up grins and drops it..

Kyz · 27/08/2013 21:51

I think it's very clever of him to turn it on on his own :) e has the rainforest mobile thing and tries to turn that on himself but it requires standing up and he can never be arsed usually!

I thought raw apple was a choking hazard but then he's better at eating now so perhaps it isn't anymore. Mil is round tomorrow for a bit so will ask her how he did with it and what she did with it too.

Good idea re: the bottle. When he's not refusing to eat his lunch he can put away a sandwich or a 190g ek pouch/equivalent of that I've cooked or more. I do him 250g portions and he usually eats all of that plus cubes of cheese, bits of ham/cucumber/tomato/puffits etc. thanks for the ham tip btw he loves it! It just worries me if he decides not to eat and I'm no longer giving that bottle. I mean what If I dropped it and he was fine and then decided not to eat at lunch or tea? What does one do with say a toddler/baby only having night bottle that goes off solids? :s

BigPigLittlePig · 27/08/2013 21:53

Ah yes det - the "drop". F selects items she doesn;t want to eat, and they all meet this fate. Sadly, we don't have a dog, and the cat is busy catching slow worms lately instead of breadsticks.

Kyz I thnk you must go with your instinct. If he still eagerly drains the bottle then likely he needs it still. If he is fussing and messing with it, then I would try without it for a day or so. I don't see how the hv can say he needs to only have 2 bottles once he's 10 months old. They're all so different.

BigPigLittlePig · 27/08/2013 21:55

Kyz on those days, I guess just offer lots of water and little snacks. Sometimes, F decides she wants a few ozs after breakfast. She has a unique squeal for this very purpose. You can always offer a bottle if you worry he hasn't had a lot.
