Muddy puddles pikz

PetiteRaleuse · 21/08/2013 07:19

Morning quiche. Unsettled night here for the others I didn't wake up at all . LO woke at 3 for a feed despite pigging out all day yesterday so
Maybe a little growth spurt? DD1 also unsettled by something, apparently, but I was away in my very strange dreams.

Pikz · 21/08/2013 09:42

Joyous morning here. L won't nap for love nor money and has taken to coming in the loo and pulling himself up on my knees but I can't shut the door as then he climbs the stairs, walls etc whilst the door is shut.
I just want to poo with 3 seconds peace!!!!

ValiumQueen · 21/08/2013 10:34

Pikz pop baby in high chair when you go to the loo? With a toy?

Detective and Bry, J is also fine with soy in bread so I think it was the yoghurt. The last time he had it we were in a refluxy bad skin mess anyway so it was not as clear as last night. Thank you for your comments. Very helpful Smile I think we will leave off for a couple of weeks and try one last time, and if the reaction is the same, then we have the culprit.

Could the constant snotty nose be the soy traces? Although it ties in with everyone else having snotty noses Confused

YW I would very much appreciate the yoghurts. No doubt we will meet up again before long.

ValiumQueen · 21/08/2013 10:36

The reaction with the soy was slightly delayed too. He had it at 5pm and it was 8pm when his skin went horrid and everything went downhill. Poor wee boy.

ValiumQueen · 21/08/2013 10:43

Argos has a few things in the clearance sale that may suit you guys, like play pen by Lindam half price, high dog safety gates for climbers etc. go to their web page and search clearance for your local store. Might be good for birthday and the festival that follows shortly after Wink

YellowWellies · 21/08/2013 11:17

AIBU? (Usually yes!) Had a playgroup pal round today and we were discussing another friend's amazingly early mover and babyproofing - she was crawling at five months, cruising at 6.5 months and stands at 8. She pipes up 'Oh my Jess is just the same such an early mover we've had stairgates up for months' now Jonas is crawling backwards, commando crawling forwards, rocking back and forth on his knees and rolling around the room as we chat but I don't count him as crawling yet. Her DD just sits for 2 hours, occasionally leaning forward and scrabbling for a toy but clearly not a super early mover...... why??????? why compete over something so daft when her DD makes her out to be a liar every time we meet! I've never seen her move at playgroup either. Jonas seems to be following the family tradition of doing nothing particularly early but picking stuff up about normal times so it's not like we're even amazing competition!!!! Grin I don't get it. Insecurity? Confusing me for a blind person?

YellowWellies · 21/08/2013 11:19

The yogurts are yours VQ we must do another haggis meet. Maybe we should go to Pass's school Grin

GTbaby · 21/08/2013 11:54

I finally let go of my mess obsession last night. Lo had pasta. I put some on his tray for him to play with. I then spoon fed him some from the bowl and hand fed him some from his tray.
Also some cucumber sticks. All of which ended up on floor. But will take note from izzy (omg how cute were those pics) and will clear sink of dishes before food time to make clean up easier Wink

Lo has start grabbing the sofa to stand up. Which he can now do alone. Prob is he does it in cot. And this morning he fell. Hmm How do I discourage this! When he wakes he plays quietly so I can't even take him out as soon as he wakes...

PetiteRaleuse · 21/08/2013 12:25

YANBU yw early moving or not is no reflection on the intelligence or future abilities of the child. In fact being an early mover is, as Detective knows, a big PITA. I was v chuffed that DD1 was so late (not worryingly so except for my MIL) and have been slightly annoyed (though proud of her achievements) at LO's huge mobility leaps the last few weeks as it mkaes everything harder work!

I hate competitive parenting, especially when people resort to massively exagerating or outright lying. My MIL is a specialist in this. Her children were walking talking toilet trained reading writing geniuses by the age of 12 months dontcha know. Hmm

I like waiting for the next stage. As much as I whinge about being at home with the kids I love, love love watching them develop and change at their pace, and wouldn't speed it up for the world. Each little first is to be savoured, as it, as a first, will never happen again.

PetiteRaleuse · 21/08/2013 12:27

All that said she might be telling the truth and the kid might be compeltely different when on her own with her mum. Which must be very frustrating for the mum.

But I doubt it, she's probably lying

YellowWellies · 21/08/2013 12:33

Yeah I know with chatting, waving etc Jonas regularly makes a liar of me but what little movement skills he has perfected he practises pretty much all of the time... so I didn't know if early movers were the same as at 10 months J certainly isn't early. The ones I've met that really have been early movers don't seem to take 2 hour breaks to just sit though and their Mummies have a unique harassed quality Grin Grin Grin .

ChasingDaisy · 21/08/2013 12:43
PetiteRaleuse · 21/08/2013 12:55

:o at the 'unique harassed look'

PetiteRaleuse · 21/08/2013 12:56

*quality, not look.

How was the pasta sauce gt

MissMummy1 · 21/08/2013 13:09

YW I wonder if she is different in her own home? M sofa surfs, scrambles for her toys and pulls up on her walker at home. Anywhere else? Nada. Sits with her thumb in mostly, making mummy look like a big fat liar. Hmm

I think she might crawl for the dog though.. who, by the way, slept through last night and is being super fantastically excellent!

MissMummy1 · 21/08/2013 13:14

I havent caught up but will later - promise! - but wanted to ask opinions on a baby bjorn carrier? I have accidentally just bought one on ebay - accidentally in so far as I placed a bid and won it Grin . Am I to be trying one out? I will easily punt it on for more than I paid.

MissMummy1 · 21/08/2013 13:14

*too late

ValiumQueen · 21/08/2013 13:31

You are sounding a lot more settled PR Smile

Passmethecrisps · 21/08/2013 13:34

Hia!

I've just been to the loo and while there I looked at myself in the mirror. I think it would be fair to say that my face is uniquely harassed!

Rubbish about soy for the boy VQ. And actually, if there is no immediate plan for a quiche meet I can pop to YW's gaff to collect and then drop at yours. Haggis mail.

P never, ever, ever stops moving. Ever. To sit still for more than 2 minutes is a sign of weakness. Her new ambition is to solo tackle the north face of the staircase. Except she has the attention span of a forgetful goldfish so her attempts are often foiled by the cat litter tray or a bit of fluff. Or her own feet. Personally, I would rather she worked on stuff that actually makes my life easier like talking or being able to dress and feed herself!

Passmethecrisps · 21/08/2013 13:36

Oh. And I have just been asked "miiiiiiiiss? Did childbirth, like, really hurt?"

PetiteRaleuse · 21/08/2013 13:41

DD1 is playing quietly and LO is napping vq :o I have also realised that I can do nothing for a week, so just need to sit back and wait for the days to go by. Plus I got a good night's sleep last night. Does wonders for the mood.

I haven't started the ADs yet- was going to start them last night but got cold feet. The doctor intended that I see the psychologist before going ahead but as I can't see her for almost a fortnight (it's August, she might well be on holiday and I didn't push her) I'm unsure whether to go ahead or not. I might call him tomorrow he only does emergencies on Wednesdays.

ValiumQueen · 21/08/2013 13:43

I bet you were tempted to say 'fuck yes' Grin Pass. Haggis mail would be great, but no urgent hurry. I also have a wee surprise for the bear to go the other way.

PurplePidjin · 21/08/2013 13:44

MM, chances are it'll hurt your shoulders. It will feel to M like she's perched on a hard wooden bar stool. And if you use it front facing out it will hold her in an uncomfortable f2f portable position for her spine as well as messing with your centre of gravity making you more likely to stumble or fall. Let me know if you want recommendations let me know :)

R said tall when my mum gave him a biscuit :o and a few times when we gave him toys :o

ValiumQueen · 21/08/2013 13:53

PR the ADs will have an ongoing effect whereas the others are short lasting, plus the ADs take a while to build up and be effective. I took a few days to pluck up the courage to take mine. I would recommend you do, but best check with the prescribing doctor.
