Congrats Det

fruit I know what you mean about the cry. A woman stopped me when L was tiny and said something like 'oh that takes me back, the newborn cry' and I thought, 'what's she talking about, it's just a cry' but now I see what she means!

ChasingDaisy · 20/08/2013 12:29

I saw a newborn today, then looked at O and nearly did a double take as O looked huuuuge compared to the tiny baby!

PetiteRaleuse · 20/08/2013 12:43

When I checked into the clinic the night before my section with LO the midwife at the nurse station on the maternity ward who greeted me had a newborn in a sling. I think that was when it hit me I was going to have another tiny baby. I burst into tears. Not sad tears but just a massive wave of emotion.

Hearing a newborn cry has been really hard for me since DD1 was born. I think because I was so ill at the time I associate the noise with that. Luckily LO wasn't a huge cryer, except for a few weeks of colicky evenings . The week DD1 and DH were in hospital over new year was the worst - bronchiolitis and colic combined.

PetiteRaleuse · 20/08/2013 13:13

Just got my blood tests back. Apparently my cholesterol is slightly too high Hmm

Can that be stress or is it too many twixes?

They put them in the same envelope as my DH's results which I think is a slight breach in confidentiality...

ChasingDaisy · 20/08/2013 13:29

I'm not sure if cholesterol is linked to stress or not. But the clever medical peeps will be able to tell you I'm sure.

Lovely morning day. Reminded me of why I love this city town. Did some shopping and sat in Costa with O while he people watched and tried to feed me his breadsticks. I carried him around as much as I could so he got to see everything and he crashed out on the bus home. He ate a bit of lunch and is now happily playing. Oh, and pooing.

Great British Bake Off is back on tonight Grin My favourite programme ever.

Went to bed happy last night as cute guy told det that he was glad she put us in touch as I am 'really sweet' Blush For our 'date' on Saturday he has said we will meet up in the mornjng and we can do whatever and go wherever I want as it is my day off mummy duties Smile From his messages to me and det we reckon that he might be seeing it as a proper date but we shall have to see how it goes. I ordered some clothes online last night so if they arrive by Sat I will have another choice of outfit for you to vote on. Will pop my original outfit on tonight and take a pic Smile

PetiteRaleuse · 20/08/2013 13:34

Google says no.

Lovely to hear you sounding so positive :) I think we are all almost as excited about this non-date date as you.

ChasingDaisy · 20/08/2013 15:29

Then I declare the culprit to be PR in the kitchen, with the twix Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 20/08/2013 15:39

That and the fact I hardly ever get my lazy fat arse off the sofa. All that will change as of next week.

ValiumQueen · 20/08/2013 15:56

High cholesterol can be linked to stress, as high levels of stress can result in over indulgence of treat foods and reduced physical activity. I actually think the culprit was PR in the kitchen with the butter Grin

GTbaby · 20/08/2013 16:10

started a discussion is weaning about finger foods

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weaning/1831857-Moving-10month-on-from-spoon-feeding
thought i would put it in a new discussion as its difficult for me to go back and catch up and find the advice given.

if any of you can offer advice please do

PetiteRaleuse · 20/08/2013 16:13

No! Not the butter. It's my only dairy except cheese and creme fraiche :o

PetiteRaleuse · 20/08/2013 16:16

I'm sure I read somewhere that they don't think high cholesterol is linked to food anymore. Anyway it's only slightly over. Will just have to keep the butter but increase healthiness elsewhere. My triglycerides are low. Four pages of results can you believe it.

StuntNun · 20/08/2013 17:01

Was it total cholesterol that was high PR? You should have total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL results. If you want to PM them to me then I can interpret them for you.

J pulled himself to standing for the first time today. Looks like I'll have to babyproof after all. I was hoping to wait until we moved next month.

OP posts:
PetiteRaleuse · 20/08/2013 17:11

Total cholesterol 2.24g/l ( should be 1.5-2)
Triglycerides 1.12 (should be 0.35-1.5)
LDL 1.41, should be under 1.6
HDL 0.61, should be over 0.4

HDL: total cholesterol 3.67, should be under 4.5

So it's just the first one they asterisked. The other 3.5 pages of results are all in the norms (phew); judging by google they've checked kidney stuff, blood content, proteins and vitamins, something to do with thyroid hormones, sugar levels and something called an ionogramme.

Thanks stunt

PetiteRaleuse · 20/08/2013 17:12

Wow you're already moving? That's come round quickly

PetiteRaleuse · 20/08/2013 17:14

Ooh I meant to pm that. Sorry for boring the rest of you!!

StuntNun · 20/08/2013 17:50

I have pm'd an even more boring to everyone else reply PR, basically nothing to worry about there. Smile

We're aiming for a completion date of the week commencing 23 Sep so I have about a month to pack. ShockConfused Maybe I could borrow Sophia! We're going to get a removal company even though we're only moving 200 yards because of things like the piano, TV, log store and other large furniture that would be difficult for us to move. Also it's certain likely that DS1 will be very distressed by the move due to his ADHD plus looking after J so it will take at least one of us to children-wrangle during the move. Hopefully it won't be too disruptive school wise as DS1 has his 11 plus tests in September / October.

Lovely day. Found a new level of exhausted. £0 inbank so can't even afford Wine

ValiumQueen · 20/08/2013 19:10

PP I am glad you had a good day. Mine was bliss! I love school. Only 4 more years until they are all in full time education Grin

Jacob can finally sit unaided for more than a few moments. He has had so little opportunity to practice with the reflux and having his sisters constantly around him. He has sat for a good fifteen minutes on a few occasions today Smile

PetiteRaleuse · 20/08/2013 19:27

He's sounding a lot better vq ?

ChasingDaisy · 20/08/2013 19:36

Bet the IOW was lovely in this weather pidj Smile

It took me a good 10 mins to wrestle O into his grobag tonight. He thinks it is hilarious to roll over and over and over...Hmm

He has learnt how to play peekaboo though. He covers his face with his muslin and kicks his legs in excitement whilst I wonder out loud where Oscar is....then he pulls the muslin off with a flourish and dissolves into giggles Grin

Passmethecrisps · 20/08/2013 20:00

What a fucking day.

Anyhow.

Sounds like some dead nice days were had by many - chasing, VQ, and pp to name but 3.

yw 2 hours until Wine o'clock!

Quick thoughts. CM has suggested cutting P to 3 bottles a day. She eats really well with CM but doesn't drink well at all. Started it today and had 20oz, a big dinner, small lunch, couple of toast bits for brekkie and two lots of snack which is usually fruit cubes and make an oatcake.

My head says that this is the right move. My heart is still desperately counting oz.

Thoughts ladies?

And just to note I gave CM the go ahead to make this change. I am now wondering if I have done the right hing

YellowWellies · 20/08/2013 20:29

Izzy the pics of James' sink bath are about the cutest I've ever seen!
