Sorry for everyone going through the spurt ours seems to have had the opposite effect in that Theiah has now done 2 nights 10-7am solid Grin shell be 12 weeks today time has gone so quick

Hope the blood clears soon hopefully it was just the dairy and cutting it out will have fixed it

I'm back at work now started bak on Monday I am mega tired but glad to be back also joined a gym Shock which is going well but well see if I still think that in a couple of weeks

pinkapples · 05/09/2013 06:20

It's nice looking back isn't it devil?it was a hard 4 years for us but to have finally got there is just amazing and every time we look at her we are so grateful

It's insane really isn't it we didn't really know what we were letting ourselves in for? Grin Worth it tho

pinkbear82 · 05/09/2013 07:07

13 week's today. where has that time gone?!

all went well at her apt yesterday, consultant really pleased with her and happy to discharge her. so that was good.

then went into town and got a bargain pink lining change bag (had been using the one that came with the buggy and one dsd had managed to spray paint all over it). £75 but good old tk maxx had it at £29.99. really pleased with it and it's far more girly than the other one, and think it'll make a brilliant weekend bag when nappies etc no longer required!

hope everyone's nights have been ok x

curlyclaz13 · 05/09/2013 08:53

Right so this 12 week spurt, Oscar has pretty much slept and fed since lunchtime yesterday Hmm it makes sense to sleep if you are growing/developing but I don't think he did it during other spurts.

hedgehogy · 05/09/2013 10:23

I found the 12 week growth spurt the worst - DD wouldn't nap during the day and woke more than usual during the night. Oh, and she fed loads.

However on the positive side, since coming through it she has so far slept through the night for 5 nights in a row (just under 10 hrs each night)! I still can't believe it. I'm not expecting it to last, but I'm just so grateful for the sleep, I feel so much better. My boobs don't know what's hit them though!

rrreow · 05/09/2013 10:47

AmI what age is your DS and how are you training him? We're getting to that point with DS (2y4m). He hates his nappies and will go on the toilet for a wee if we take him. But can't tell us when he needs to go yet and he doesn't want to poo on the toilet. I have no idea whether we should just get on with it or to wait.

pinkbear82 · 05/09/2013 12:34

any possibility the 12 wk spurt can Whitby 13 week's?! dd crying almost constantly hardly napping and just unsettled Hmm

last week I didn't notice anything but wow if the last two days are anything to go by its going to be a looooonnnng week

SunnyL · 05/09/2013 13:35

Pink according to Wonder Weeks it's between 11.5 and 12.5 weeks and is related to their actual due date rather than their actual birth date. No idea if it's cobblers or not but it's been pretty accurate for us.

Think we might be coming out of our grumpy phase as she is marginally better today. Mind you I was so frustrated this morning that by the time DH finally got out of bed I locked myself in the bathroom to have the longest shower and left him to it. It was for his own safety!

AmIGoingMad · 05/09/2013 13:49

He's 2.7 he's been happy to pee/poo on potty after bath since Xmas but has started telling us he's pooing/peeing in the last few months- as doing it tho and not before. We were going to try earlier but with dd arrival wanted to wait. He asked to wear big boy pants last thurs so we gave it a try. Potty and training seat on big loo in bathroom from the beginning- ours is downstairs. He chooses which to go on. He's been doing really well. Gets a sticker homemade chart for every time he goes to loo- even if there's a little accident. If he's a bit constipated he gets two stars for coping so well. After 5 stickers he has a choc button. Yesterday he managed the whole day in same pair of pants and even managed to wait til getting home when we we on our way back from a walk and he needed to pee! We've stayed pretty close to home for the last week though- I have a feeling getting out and about might be more difficult!
Fwiw I think holding on until he wanted to do it and was asking to made it much easier and more successful.

pinkbear82 · 05/09/2013 14:40

hmmm thanks sunny. wondering now if she needs infacol again.

ami a few years ago when ex sister in law was potty training her dd they had a portable potty for while out and about, it collapsed down and had linings that you just treated like a nappy. no idea if still available or where did it but if it is and you can find it might make out and about a bit easier!

pinkbear82 · 05/09/2013 14:43

having just googled it's called a POTETTE PLUS - kiddicare have one for 10.50.

AmIGoingMad · 05/09/2013 15:20

Thank you! Will look into that as it could well be just the thing I need.

I'm missing this thread but have managed a little more time today! I just don't seem to manage to catch up properly at the moment and don't want to just post all me me me without commenting/ replying to you ladies!

pinkbear82 · 05/09/2013 16:50

ami I think we all have times when we are the same - and I don't have any potty training to be thinking about!! have considered a nappy on the puppy Grin

hope the portable potty looking goes well. and if u get it that it helps!

off to view a photo show of the dsd's trip to London with dp's parents... they are very excited. I worry it'll be a million photos of random things... they had a 'big bed each' at the hotel, there bunk beds here won't receive the same excitement Wink

Olimoss · 06/09/2013 07:46

Sarah - I'm so sorry to hear that about your NCT group, I must've just been lucky with mine. Shame you weren't over here in West London to join it when we started......if you ever need am around, just say. It sucks feeling like you are on your own. As I have literally NO family within a 12000 mile radius, having some like-minded people going through the same experience is priceless.

All well here, work just keeping me v busy. Joe is actually coming into the office today - gulp!

Sarah2506 · 06/09/2013 09:25

Thanks Oli. I think you, me and Rreow should go for a gin and tonic cup of tea before you head off to Aus, with any other London based folk? Smile. I'm starting an nct post natal course next week so have higher hopes there. Also a couple of other paid things like monkey music and baby sensory on the theory that if you pay then you commit, and I might see the same people more than once!

Sarah2506 · 06/09/2013 09:49

Btw ladies has anyone seen a seriously nice dress for wedding purposes with easy access to the boob area?

Littlemissexpecting · 06/09/2013 10:11

Ds is 11.5 weeks, not looking forward to this growth spurt at 12 weeks. He's sleeping really well at night at the minute, between 7 and 9 hours. Not napping much during the day though.
NCT are doing a weaning course here in sept and oct, thinking about booking on it as not sure where to start when the time comes. Anyone else doing one?

rrreow · 06/09/2013 11:33

Sarah Oli Yes I'd be up for that if you guys are!!

AmI thanks that's helpful! I think DS isn't quite ready yet, but probably will be soon. Will just keep encouraging and hinting that he can go on the toilet and get big boy pants if he doesn't want to wear nappies anymore.

DS2 is 13w today (was born at 38+6) so I guess this is the 12w fussiness? Back to waking up at 3am and 6am for feeds and then usually again around 8am.

Sarah2506 · 06/09/2013 12:30

littlemiss yes we've booked. 32 quid though! Our health visitors provide a weaning drop in first Tuesday of every month to support it though, which will help!

Olimoss · 06/09/2013 12:30

Rreow & Sarah - deffo 'cept having just checked my diary, between work, baby swim a d hospital appts I've literally not a spare day between now and 24th. Insane. When I get back? After 16th? As long, of course, as you def aren't crazy interweb murderers or suchlike.

Mwah ha haa*

Olimoss · 06/09/2013 13:06

And I deliver work for central and local government, often as a consultant, so DEFINITELY not a bad person.

HungryHorace · 06/09/2013 20:08

Boo...I'm in London on 12th. :-/

Unfair stamps feet

DD has now started to refuse the comfort milk, so she's back on standard first milk. Which she's yomping down. Hopefully she'll sleep better if she keeps eating more. :-)

Hawkmoth · 06/09/2013 21:37

Just had a twenty minute yawn off with the baby. It's quite interesting that even little ones find yawning contagious.

We can't go to bed yet as I'm waiting to dry her sleeping bag after she proudly displayed her cottage cheese making abilities earlier.

If you have chance, nip to Tesco and have a rummage in the sale. Got some nice bits for her including three tops for £3 and a Union Flag romper for next summer! Might be earlier though as her legs are already too long for some of her 3-6 stuff!
