We went out last night to properly celebrate my birthday- cocktails, Thai food, and horror show-spotting on the local high street (so much choice!). It was great, I'm nursing a mild hangover, and just off to get DP's arse out of bed, as we're off to meet some friends of his from work - and their GORGEOUS tiny baby- for coffee.

We were also meant to be celebrating DP getting a new job, but although he's had the interview Thursday, they won't be telling them til the middle of next week Shock - how craply organised is that? So poor man is a bundle of nerves.

Will catch up soon.

mopsytop · 19/10/2013 11:26

Sounds fun Northern. Boo for having to wait to hear about interview
So horrible Sad

OK ta v much for phase 8 tip. Got Twp gorgeous dresses in the sale!

OiMissus · 19/10/2013 15:34

Nice dresses! That polka one would be perfect in the first 6 months of pg. seeing as I most definitely should be pg now, I ought to get one too. Wink
Typically my colleague told me she was pg last week, so there couldn't be worse timing. But family must come before work. My age, and the fact that both she and I had mcs earlier this year, means we must both go forth and multiply as best we can! Grin

QueenofClean · 19/10/2013 18:29

Nice dresses Mopsy Smile

I'm shattered, been a busy and emotional day.

Took Sky to the little aquarium on the seafront this morning she loved running around and seeing all the fishes. She's in bed with Simba on although only been in there about 10 mins and think she's already asleep just hope it's for the night now Grin

Darcie had a good day and great singing lesson. We've had a home made chicken with honey and egg rice for tea and now she's drinking a large small glass of blue wkd...she likes that one she's always 'tasting' DH when he has a bottle which isn't very often as we are not big drinkers.

I'm just off to have a soak in the bath and enjoy the peace.

Oi hope all yours & DH work has paid off and your upduffed Wink

Northern fx for your DH that he's got the job.

QueenofClean · 19/10/2013 18:33

Also I was quite sly cheeky today. I brought for Sky last month a jumbo Peppa pig aye for Xmas from Asda for £40, was in Asda today and they were selling them at £20 so went back armed with receipt for refund for £40. Then went and brought it again for £20. Saved myself £20 and means I can get something else for her for Xmas.

Faffin · 19/10/2013 19:18

One threenager angelic daughter for sale, reasonable price because after today I've just about had enough

Glad you had good bday celebrations northern. Digits twisted for DP's job, and for oi to be upduffed

Faffin · 19/10/2013 20:28

And now I feel horrible for having posted that Sad Tomorrow's a new day, just hoping for a dramatic improvement in behaviour

jigglebum · 19/10/2013 20:46

Sounds like they re in cahoots again and going through a "challenging" phrase. Though for us this phrase is quite a long one!! As for second ones being easier it definitely is not the case for us! But the big difference is you go with the flow a lot more eg strawberries and cucumber sounds like a grand lunch to me!! If F insists on wearing her wellies and her sun hat out I just let her etc etc

Got a quiet evening to myself tonight - pretty knackered though so early night I think.

Too tired to do individual catch ups - sorry!

NorthernChinchilla · 19/10/2013 21:07

Faffin, we all want to sell our children occasionally in parts to maximise value at some points, don't feel dreadful! And here is a safe, non-Cath-Kidson-perfect-family place to express it all.

LadyGoodman · 19/10/2013 21:24

DS woke up at 8.30 this morning we took him out for morning for birding adventures, this afternoon he watched cars, we had friends round for tea tonight and DS having not slept all day got more and more obnoxious riding his car into everyone, ran over friends DS hand, opened drawers until he went to bed at 8.30. Dh and I now watching the classic that is die hard Grin

Tomorrow we are doing visiting with dh grandad then with SIL and her 4yo.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 20/10/2013 00:00

When putting DS to bed tonight, he went into his bed awake, I sang him a song (as usual) and since he was still awake I started on a second one. DS rolls over and says: 'Shut up Mummy' and rolls back away from me and goes to sleep.

Um, OK.

mopsytop · 20/10/2013 10:47

Sorry to be unfeeling Hop but that made me laugh!

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 20/10/2013 13:54

Sorry hop I laughed too.

faffin absolutely don't feel bad, mind drive me crazy. DD1 is just naughty, and DS seems to be in a phase of not listening and not doing what's he's told because DD1 doesn't.

xiao it's exhausting isn't it! Keep looking forward to that magic 12 week point when it suddenly seems to get easier.

oi hope your upduffed :)

northern happy belated birthday, hope its good news about the job.

queen sorry you've been struggling but so pleased you're getting DLA. It must be so tough going through the awfulness of form filling to have it rejected then have to appeal against it.

DD2 is now almost six months and we've started weaning this week, she loves sweet potatoes. The second night she slept from 6:30 until 5:30 but it was a one off, I was still up twice last night at 1:30 then again at 5. DH has gone down to a 4 day week which has helped already, the kitchen is very nearly done, and new fridge, freezer and range cooker are all on order. Plus it's less than 3 weeks until we go on holiday :o

QueenofClean · 20/10/2013 14:23

Hop Grin made me laugh to sorry.

Faffin, I often want to sell my girls when the frustrate me but would be lost without them.

Seven, thanks still waiting on the letter that gives us the award amount but would of been :( if we had a rejection.

Darcie went upto level 6 in swimming today Grin so proud.

We've had a lovely roast with apple strudel for pudding and now we are all in out onesies watching family movies. DH made the girls play-doh and they are playing with it now.

Faffin · 20/10/2013 14:27

Thanks for the kind words northern and seven. She seems to be having a phase of saying no to everything, which of course DS is now copying. She's also started wetting herself which is frustrating. Going to go to GP tomorrow if I can get an appointment, just in case it's a urine infection, but I fear it's more a behavioural issue.

I laughed too hop, sorry. But you're not alone. DD often says STOP mummy, when I sing. And DS is copying that too!

I'm now sitting watching the gruffalo with a poorly DS. He must be ill, he never normally sits still. I think it's just a cold but his temp is up and he coughed so hard he made himself sick. Given him calpol, stripped him down to his vest and DH has taken DD put so he can have a bit of peace and quiet

mopsytop · 20/10/2013 15:01

OMG minim just had mother of all tantrums at the shops and all the way home. I've no idea how I got her and a big heavy bag of shopping back. she was lying down, kicking, flailing screaming in the shop and at various points on way back. Talk about stressful Sad

NorthernChinchilla · 20/10/2013 20:10

Glad to see they are all communicating again, and being euphemism alert 'spirited'.

Mind you, when we took DS to the park today, there's a bench in the child's play area dedicated in memory of a little boy, and there was a birthday balloon tied round it today for him. Makes your heart break.

That sounds an impressive tantrum from her mopsy, do you know what set it off or was it just a random just-because-I'm-a-toddler one? Bet you must feel knackered! Hope you get an appointment with your GP soon about the odd pain. And your DS sounds like he was trying your patience too figgy- do you think he's permanently dropped his nap, or was it a one off?

That's a lovely picture Queenie, do you all have matching onesies Grin?

I cannot believe your DD is nearly 6 months seven, the way the time is getting on is terrifying. How is she now, as I know the colic, etc, was nearly finishing you off- is she more settled? Hope things are OK for you and DH too.

We've had a good day taking piles of crap to the dump before the house move, as I'm damned if we're taking stuff that's lived in the eaves or the shed for 8 years. This includes stuff like DP's mate's punchbag and a video player...sigh... DP has actually got on board with this; it'll be more of a fight when we get to his clothes though... Ironing, doing the finances and other wildly exciting bits for a real family Sunday Confused!

QueenofClean · 20/10/2013 20:43

Mopsy hope MiniM calmed down when you got home. We get tantrums here too.

Northern - DH doesn't have a onesie yet.Wink Sky had her Authentic Malaysian PJ's on ( worn for first time as they now fit - brought last yr), Darcie had her Halloween devil onesie on and I had my Minnie Mouse onesie on, rather shockingly warm stunning if I do say so myself Grin.

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 20/10/2013 20:49

Oh northern the bench made me cry. DD2 is generally much better but still has off days every now and then, though solids seem to be agreeing with her well so hopefully she'll be happier now. We started in Tuesday, other than only having half of her rice then she's eaten everything I've offered her.

I've just made carrot mush, now about to start wrapping Christmas presents I know its stoopidly early but I'm excited and I don't care

OiMissus · 20/10/2013 20:51

I enjoyed some little baby cuddles today. Grin Friends visited with their 14wk old dd. I was enjoying the snuggles when I felt a dampness - poop leakage (hers, not mine!) but I had to change my dress and blouse. Shock

Faffin · 20/10/2013 21:07

Hmm, I'm now thinking this is more than a cold for DS, and could possibly be the start of the pox this time. He's had the cold since the start of the week and not suffered too much, but was really feverish today. He perked up this afternoon once the calpol kicked in, but was really unhappy again by this evening. His head was boiling hot, hands were freezing, and he was shivering, poor little man. Despite the illness he still didn't have a daytime nap (this has been the norm for a couple of months now), but then he just went spark out when I read his bedtime stories Sad

LadyGoodman · 20/10/2013 21:11

Seven can't believe you're weaning already Shock I swear u don't realise how quickly life passes until you have children.

Qoc I have a onesie but being 5'10" it isn't very comfy (if u know what I mean) I keep eyeing up nice thick ones from next.

Oi do u feel of yet? I know it was ur mission this week Wink

Mopsy hope you've recovered from mini mopsy's epic non mini tantrum.

Please someone stop me spending money I keep buying DS presents for bday and Xmas just little things that cost a little bit here and there mini aquadoodles, books, jigsaws, and more books it has to stop!!!!

LadyGoodman · 20/10/2013 21:12

Oi that was supposed to say do u feel pg yet? Bloody autocorrect

NorthernChinchilla · 20/10/2013 21:17

It makes me well up each time I think of it seven. The bench- in the shape of a frog- has always just been a part of the park, but today with the birthday balloon it really brought it home Sad
Delighted to hear DD's getting on though, enjoying her grub, and even giving you the odd full night's sleep!

Loving the sound of the Halloween devil onesie, that sounds awesome Grin though sure you looked fabulous in yours too Wink.

Hope it's nothing too horrible faffin, and that he's better in the morning. Hope you both get a decent night's sleep, and have the Calpol to hand for the middle of the night if not... This time of year stinks for kids' illnesses.
