Thanks Aethel I was just trying to work out if I could link from my phone, now I can continue in ignorance Grin

I didn't think I would buy into the whole blue/pink thing (was perfectly happy when ds found my tacky tiara and wand from my hen night and was riding his trike round the house in his onesie and pink sparkly tiara not so happy about the plastic willy drinking straw neing carefully stashed in his shopping basket with the weirdly proportioned plastic vegetables but that was quietly removed once he'd gone to bed )

However I have noticed to my horror that photos of both dc together have mostly featured colour coded outfits. WTF? How did that happen?

We are a Raa Raa house (which will be compounded in December when he will receive every piece of merchandise currently available) bit he loved parts of the jungle book last week (the elephants were a particular hit) and I'm about to dig out my toy story dvd boxset because I've always wanted all the toys

Someone asked upthred about xmas ideas for dh. QOC? We're not getting anything for each other as I've just bought new specs (and always have to add an extra £100 to whatever frames I get to thin down the lenses) and DH is adamant we are still getting 2 real trees so has agreed to have these as his gift. The kids will get him his usual Beano annual (I had to take over this tradition when his Mim died Grin ). I might make him some peppermint creams.

We're a Thomas, Peppa and Swashbuckle household. And for some bizarre reason he really likes Gigglebiz, sings the theme tune all around the house! We usually favour BBC and DVDs as I have an especial dislike of adverts aimed at children

We went school shoe locating yesterday and for the first time my DD1 picked out boys shoes then said "I do hope I won't get picked on for having boys ones, but they are the ones I really want, is that Ok mum?" I'm proud of her for sticking with the things she really likes and not being swayed by the done thing, but at the same time I hope she doesn't get adverse comments from ignorant wallies kids at school..... She has a new best friend who is very robust and does stand up for her so I think between them they can handle it... Oh the life lessons of school....

Thanks for the new thread Hop, it's here

We were meant to be going swimming today but DS is looking a bit peaky so instead we're going shopping for something he can wear to a christening next week. I might buy myself a dress too.
I made a new thread but can't link as on phone.

Ive never tried sushi don't think I'd like it really and am not too adventurist with food these days.

DS still asleep wooo I am not obviously .......sat in my onesie trying to work out what time it is. Half the clocks in the house auto changed the other half didn't Grin

I want a new onesie my cow print primark one isn't long enough in the body it feels sprayed on. Haven't worn it since before pg for that reason but I figure it's around 3 hrs until DS and I off to a new softplay with a friend and her 3yo so why not. Dh off on a trip to the London wetlands centre so after softplay DS and I are bunkering down to play with jigsaws (even if he throws an epic Wallace and Gromit tantrum he is not getting it today.....he might get toy story 2 if he's lucky).

We are similar. That's why an occasional take out is a nice treat. I mainly want to get back early from dates as minim still gets up at six regardless of when we go to bed!! MIL here next we though so will prob go out.

I remember the last time but one we ate out as a couple it felt so novel we hardly knew what to do (!!) and ended up back home at 9.30 after a nice relaxed curry, my babysitting mate told me off and said we should have gone for a drink in the pub after the meal!... Am envious of those who manage "date nights" with their OH, but in all honesty it's yet another thing to fit in, costs ££ and besides, DH seems to like my cooking....

Just sieving the quinces, then will boil and set tomorrow. Hugh Fernley-Whotsit will be in trouble if this recipe is duff!

There's a new sushi place opened here, because of where it is it's kosher too. Keep meaning to try it.

ooooh yum aethel.

The sushi was delicious but v expensive. But we rarely eat out anymore and even more rarely get takeout so we decided sod it let's indulge. Was lovely.

Ooh, I have sushi withdrawl. Last year when DH still had a horrible commute, his route home went past a sushi joint. So was easily able to get a cheap(ish), easy sushi fix on a fairly regular basis. There appear to be no sushi joints within ten miles of our current abode. Sniff. (I have sushi rice but sincerely miss being within an easy drive of New Malden, where the Korean population mean there are little sushi supply supermarkets, and you can just walk in and point to lumps of sushi-grade fish and take it home to make Maki and hand rolls. Bwaaaah!)

Quince cheese is also called membrillo (?sp) and is basically set quince paste, it is made in slices/moulds and you eat it in chunks with cheese. I confess mine is still "resting" as I got distracted by the totally grim living room carpet. Might have to go and rescue it!

Jiggle - DH drives me mad sometimes when he doesn't realise what he says can't be fecking hurtful/annoying but he is very supportive indoors wrt housework and looking after kids, since we had that big argument at beginning of the year... I think you need to pick your DH up on it and make him aware younbare thinking of leaving if he doesn't buck his ideas up.

Aethel - Half term has started here. Darcie had a friend to stay last night and been as good as gold Smile

Sky has decided she no longer wants a bottle YAY so they have been packed away.

Have you all battened down the hatches ready for the hurricane tomorrow?

Trouble is he genuinely cannot see that he might even be a tad unreasonable and any "discussions" we have end up with him just justifying his behaviour and making out that I am expecting far too much and that he does more than most dads (what comparison that is from I dont know)

Truth is most of the time I can just get on with my /our lives and ignore him and his behaviour, which most of the time seems preferable to the upheaval of separation (and he can, at times, be nice!) I will reassess over the next year though and see.

Have both kids off today - we have done crafting, fed the ducks, been to the park, I ve done the washing, hoovered the house, started packing for the weekend and we are about to make cakes..... none of which will be noticed or appreciated by (d)h - it all just happens magically you know!!
