Right;

Lady, fantastic news about DH..although gout is still a shit. Best friend had it for almost a year (along with a frozen shoulder at the same time!) and was off work & useless for most of that time. Hope he's on the mend soon.

Aethel, Yanbu, right thing to phone the school regarding kids with no seatbelts.
Grin for the Dougie Howser love, as an aside, Neil Patrick Harris has gorgeous children!

Wot aethel & QofC said mopsy,
We're in a quandary over DC3 atm, we haven't the space (and in neg. equity so it would be a few years) or money for another one comfortably BUT we both want one, neither of us want to do the pregnancy/newborn again & DH is anti-adoption until ours are old enough to understand it.

Queen, sorry to hear DD2 is ill, hope she (and you!) have a restful night! at your DH taking up bed room, men!

madly at everyone else, hopefully should be getting more time to post here, although buying GTA this week so will be reverting to teenage grunts mostly Grin

New here; had the DS's christening a few weekends back, one tried to jump in the font, two screamed throughout.
DS1 still can't be arsed with this 'talking' business, although 'book' is his favourite word. DH is back to being 'mama' too.
Had food poisoning (thanks Bluewater!), better now although stomach muscles aren't happy so on r&r with drugs.
DS2 (is 9wks old!) had his first lot of jabs, has been grumpy since then.

Thanks QoC! That reminds me... Hang on...

Ah! That's better!

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 11/10/2013 13:31

Good to have you back oi :o

figgy so glad it's not lupus.

aethel you were definitely NBU, drives me mad as much as not using car seats and mobile phones, and don't get me started on parents who leave young DCs in the car when they go into the shops.

mopsy another go for it over here, though I have no career to base that advice on.

Feeling really crap here about the thought of not having DC4. I'd really happily have another but I know with DS issues it would be a really stupid selfish idea. I know I should be thankful for what I have but I can't help how I feel. I wouldn't want to go through IVF and pre-implantation genetic testing, plus there's no chance we'd get funding anyway when we have 2 healthy DCs. I had a little cry the other night about how unfair life seems sometimes.

LadyGoodman · 11/10/2013 16:01

Bleurgh da has vommed everywhere all over his bed, his teddies, himself its rancid!! He doesn't seem unwell and not eaten anything unusual so not too worried but it's first time ever. Do I feed him tonight? Something basic i.r beans on toast or something be ok?

Bleurgh

LadyGoodman · 11/10/2013 16:20

Aw man he's just done it again all over the sofa and his new clothes Hmm

mopsytop · 11/10/2013 16:41

Lots of water I'd say figgy. and dry toast!

LadyGoodman · 11/10/2013 16:48

He's done it again now but thankfully managed to sit him up so he missed his clothes this time. A sick bucket has now been fashioned out of an old plastic bowl in cupboard and he's just flopped on top of me feeling sorry for himself am letting him have peppa pig this time. His bed is sodden not sure what to do with him tonight. Poor thing.

Aethelfleda · 11/10/2013 18:55

Oh dear, vomit!! Wash the bedding and mattress cover, put a waterproof sheet if you have one. Over the sheet put a towel (easier to wash and catches the chunks (boak))
Then just hoss anything yucky in the bath and sort out whatever us in there tomorrow morning. Oh and a towel on the floor underneath by the bed is good in case they try to get up and vom on the carpet

Aethelfleda · 11/10/2013 18:56

(Can you tell dS and DD2 had it a few weeks back?)

LadyGoodman · 11/10/2013 19:04

Thanks aethel we have a pile of clothes towels bedding and sofa cushions now covered Hmm my sick bowl reflexes need practice clearly.

He keeps asking for drink then throws them up just giving him water and he's not even keeping that down. He's flopped all over me but then shouting and dancing at dinosaur train very strange.

NorthernChinchilla · 11/10/2013 19:36

Right, THIS is what I tried to post last night, but the sodding MN/computer gremlins would not let me

Whatever happens mopsy, and this is not meant to sound trite, you'll simply have a different career either way. You've got your foot in the door now, and just think you've got (the way the retirement age is going) another 35 years of working. You've barely even started- not like our parents' generation when they took early retirement at 50.

Babies are relatively time-limited, careers far, far less so. If you can afford a period of unpaid mat leave, start ttc 9 months from the end of the contract.

I know what you mean figgy about having cleared the baby stage, do you want to go back ... Just having one would be far less stress, we'd have more money, etc. We're still planning on no. 2 in a couple of years when we can afford it (unless some unknown Great-Aunt decides to snuff it and leave us her millions, etc)

NorthernChinchilla · 11/10/2013 19:36

and now...

NorthernChinchilla · 11/10/2013 19:48

Well, we've actually had a survey take place Shock AND we were told today that bloke at the top of the chain has found somewhere- he's in fact offered on two places, and so it looks like it's all coming together Shock Shock

I also posted about DS being a little sodlet yesterday, he swiped at one of the nursery staff to DP's total mortification. Today he's given two hugs on demand and been really sweet, so a lesson about not getting all glum about one off day has been taken Smile

So sorry to hear about DS this evening, that sounds grim figgy. I know I was totally thrown the first time DS upchucked, as he's only done it twice. Goodness knows what it is, and best of luck with keeping the water down him. And good thing he was so cute to you before making you swim in vom....

Can't believe your DS2 is 9 weeks GBT, that's amazing. And where at Bluewater did you get the food poisoning, so I know where to avoid? PM me if needed! Not surprised your stomach muscles felt wrecked, and must've been tough with such a tiny baby.

Sorry to hear you're suffering from broodiness so badly seven, have you talked to anyone else about it? Do you think there's a little PND/exhaustion in the mix that's making you more upset?

Am relaxing now with a drink after a ridiculous, Indiana-Jones style journey home...

LadyGoodman · 11/10/2013 19:51

He's fallen asleep lying on the sofa with his head in my lap poor little dude. ......much febreeze needed in the morning. Everything smells bad!!

mopsytop · 11/10/2013 19:56

figgy I sympathise. Minim is an epic vomiter. Is awful when you get to the stage of no clean anything left. 5ml syringes or spoons of liquid every five minutes works a treat. But it is arsenumbingly tedious esp if they just want to sleep. It does get them rehydrated though if you're worried he is too dry.

Hope you get some sleep.

Oooh exciting Northern! Fingers crossed!

mopsytop · 11/10/2013 19:57

Also apparently lemon juice is great at getting smell of vomit out...

QueenofClean · 11/10/2013 20:02

Figgy - hope DS feels better soon. Lots of disinfectant everywhere for cleaning.

Sky gone to sleep finally. Seemed perkier today.

My sinuses want to go bang :( so I'm going to have an early night as both girls in bed.

OiMissus · 11/10/2013 20:25

11 nights in - oh how i would love a glass of wine/vodka/martini/absynthe/pure ethanol... :D
Poor Figgyboy. Hope he gets better soon.
Seven - sorry to hear about how you're feeling. So why 4, or do you want more than 4? Have you always wanted 4+, or is it a new thing? If it's new, maybe it is a hormone-thing. Try not to let it upset you. Just enjoy your new little one and give yourself time. THink about it later. There's no rush.
Anyway, if Northern does win the lottery, she might want to push some our way so we can all have more. ;)
Oh - a lottery win - dreamy dreamy - something I would like EVEN MORE that wine right now!

NorthernChinchilla · 12/10/2013 07:00

You'd all get a cheque in the post and an invite for a get together with the DCs, followed by a women only party with champagne get together Wink!

QueenofClean · 12/10/2013 18:21

Aaarrrggghhhh.....that is all! :(

Aethelfleda · 12/10/2013 20:25

Booze needs increasing in the recipe, seven, otherwise yum! (Next time I will double it I think to 30ml rather than 15ml which is two tablespoons).

Aaargh, queenie?

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 12/10/2013 20:31

DS is refusing to sleep in the travel cot so is taking up a whole double bed. I will be sleeping on about six inches of mattress while DH is in his old single bed. Le tired.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 12/10/2013 20:32

Am breaking cardinal rule of cosleeping and have had abit of alalcohol (not drunk) at what age do you stop stressing about that? At nearly two there is no chance im goingt to roll on him.

mopsytop · 12/10/2013 21:10

At nearly two I think there's prob no chance of him not waking up, shouting and crying if you roll onto him!

I had yummy basil gin and elderflower tonic earlier. omg nom.
