mopsytop · 26/09/2013 22:06

ooooh xiao good luck for tomorrow. Mega exciting.

northern fingers x for house.

Hop know exactly what you mean. Sleeping baby. Then it awakes and is a big CHILD... what?

octo ugh stair climage with baby appendage. Tiring.

I left the house at 6.12 and got back at I think 20.50. Pretty knackerooed. Beddies for me.

PerilousStiletto · 26/09/2013 22:22

All the best for tomorrow Xiao!!! How amazing - and strange. To be filled with excitement about the new baby, but just a teensy bit sad for no. 1. I understand. It is a bit daft, you'll love him just the same, but I can imagine having a little weep in the boi's ear if it were me.
They cut out the old scar eh? Now we know why Posh has a flat tummy after 5! Wink

5? Thought she'd only spawned four?

Best of times for today Xiao. May your surgeon be awesome and your recovery swift:)

thekatsatonthematt · 27/09/2013 07:25

Good luck Xiao!

Just a quick one, should I be concerned that ds nappies are leaking all of a sudden?

Is a bigger size going to be more absorbant? We're using up the last of the 4+ already have 5 in the house. Asda Little Ones if it makes any difference.

I had the mother of all poo disasters yesterday. DD had her daily explosion resulting in a complete outfit change. But at least that was newborn bf poo.

Cos I then changed DS who had completely saturated his nappy and then had a poo. So was all down his leg and he also needed a complete outfit change.

Then we went to the park, came home where he sat on my mums lap and had again completely saturated his nappy which became apparent when the current pee leaked all over my mum!

And then less than an hour later another enormous poo that spread down his leg (and all over the sofa - I hate our cheap black leather sofa but love it on these situations)

5.30 this morning and there is an urgent scream from his cot. Another saturated nappy, soaked pjs and bedding (I am taking dh word for this, haven't actually checked myself). I'd put a fresh nappy on him at 11 when he woke up.

He is also teething if this makes a difference? Sorry, am thinking aloud more than anything now! Blush

thekatsatonthematt · 27/09/2013 07:25

Sorry, that wasn't quick!

PerilousStiletto · 27/09/2013 08:00

You're probably right with 4. Why did I think 5?...
We've been in size 5's for aaaaages Kat. Maybe it is time to move up. When they were little, I often took regular leakages to mean it was time to move up a size.
It's Friday. Lovely Friday!
Xiao is having a baby, and I am having (Macmillan) cakes. All is glorious in the world. Grin
Have a good one! X

Today it's the usual swimming shopping boy wrangling routine then have to go over to work at 4 they having a champagne and canapé reception for our 75th anniversary. It's 20's inspired with a jazz band but as its in our office which u have to drive to its bit like can get sloshed on free bubbles ........a really that's prob what they hoping Grin

Really hoping the best for u today xiao

QueenofClean · 27/09/2013 08:54

Good Luck today Xiao

Kat sounds like you need to move up a size.

Today I am mostly resting my foot as it hurts :(

Kri5ty · 27/09/2013 12:57

shuffles back on to MN after probably a years absence

doubt I'll ever catch up!

just signed up to the May 2014 board.. :D

so we are going to be evicting monkey from his cot soonish.... Advice on getting him to actually stay in a bed would be greatly appreciated lol

thekatsatonthematt · 27/09/2013 13:34

Congrats Kri5ty!

I too want tips for keeping toddlers in bed - we'll be moving DS into yet another bedroom shortly (if you include our bedrooms this will be his 7th bedroom...not such a shock that we have problems getting him to settle when I think about it Blush)

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 27/09/2013 13:36

Hope all goes well for xiao today.

Congrats kristy that's great news, odd coincidence of you announcing it on the day we were going to be finished with pregnancies on here! Good to see you here again, hope all is going ok.

Kri5ty · 27/09/2013 14:23

Haha, i plan on not talking much about pregnancy!

we have a spare double bed we are thinking of using ... But its too high for him to climb back in to if he falls out :/

Aethelfleda · 27/09/2013 14:27

Hi kri5ty! Congratulations!
Re beds: your options include:
bed rail (to stop em falling out and wailing)
Grobag (to slow them down getting to your room and stop them "losing" their covers
Stairgate (to keep them safely in their room so they can't andrex-puppy the bathroom/cover the room with shampoo)
Elephant tape (joking but wouldn't it be useful...)
Also, if you have heavy dressers/shelves in their room do think about securing them to the wall: securing rods/strings only cost a £ or two and it reduces the risk of them pulling them over when exploring. Babies who can get out of their own bed tend to climb everything eventually! Oh, and window restrictors too (few £ each new on ebay).

QueenofClean · 27/09/2013 14:34

Congrats Kri5ty Smile

Kri5ty · 27/09/2013 14:44

Thanks girlies :-)

great bed tips! We def need to secure drawers .. Although OH and i are useless at that sort of thing! I tried to get him using a duvet over summer... But think I'll be going back to a growbag, hopefully itll be easier for him in the bed.

as for a bed rail, i think he would try and climb over it. At swimming they have some (its a special needs school), and he try's and hangs head first off it :-\

Xiaoxiong · 27/09/2013 14:46

Still waiting on ward but I'm next to go down to theatre, eek!

The bottle of antibacterial scrub I was given to shower with says "avoid contact with brain" on the back Grin

PerilousStiletto · 27/09/2013 15:45

Congratulations Kristy!! Great news! X
