Oscar has spent the morning sorting his stacking cups and working out which ones fit inside each other and which are too big or too small. I may not have a crawler but I have a thinker Smile

fruitpastilles · 13/08/2013 08:29

Wow chasing all S does with her stacking cups is put them in her mouth or launch them across the room.

PurplePidjin · 13/08/2013 08:48

R slept in till 7:20!!!!!

ChasingDaisy · 13/08/2013 09:17

Yay well done R!!!

PetiteRaleuse · 13/08/2013 09:22

The dog has nicked most of our stacking cups Hmm

I am v glad that I've been able to see LO's latest developments. A few weeks later and I'd have missed them like I did for DD1. I went back to work a few weeks earlier with DD1.

ValiumQueen · 13/08/2013 09:22

Chasing that is really impressive Smile

Not too bad a night eventually. I did not get back to bed and had to sleep next to him on the floor in the lounge with my hand on him. He was on the comfy changing mat. I had to wake DH so I could have a wee as J would not be put down for a second. It is tricky getting his meds in. It is a bit like buckaroo and I am having to choose which is most important.

DD2 is at nursery today. Thank fuck. She is awesome, but you need eyes in the back of your head.

Lily311 · 13/08/2013 09:44

We had an unusual night, she was up several times. Only went in once though. She is down for her second nap already, was in an awful mood.

I will use the time to do nothing. I need energy for the rest of the day.

MissMummy1 · 13/08/2013 09:54

After watching me open the tea towel drawer this morning, M skidded over in her horrific pink convertible walker and has spent the last half an hour banging it open and closed Confused Time for door catches?

We also had an awful night. Bedtimes are becomming an ever increasing battle Sad Brew

ValiumQueen · 13/08/2013 10:25

A lot of these bad nights are because life is so much fun now they are mobile and their brains are so active. They process stuff in their sleep so when they wake they instinctively start to crawl. It takes a while to work through this, but they all will. I remember with both my girls having a fairly short period of broken nights due to this.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/08/2013 10:31

True vq it does pass; normally when they get so active that they tire themselves out completely during the day so need a nice full night's sleep to recharge. Tis the theory anyway...

I'm dreading the exposure to bugs in a few weeks at nursery. Memories of the winter are flooding back to me :(

Lily311 · 13/08/2013 10:37

Those of you who have an iPad, I managed to lock the screen on my mails so it doesn't turn when I turn the iPad. But the browser is not locked, only the mail. How do I unlock it?

GTbaby · 13/08/2013 10:51

Lily. I noticed that on mine recently as well. I thought maybe its always been like that but I've never noticed?

GTbaby · 13/08/2013 10:59

We also had a random wake up. Well two. 1st after a few minutes of wailing he stopped. 2nd at 12.30 it was full on tantrum. So picked him up for a cuddle, n when I tried to put him bk was bk to kicks n screaming.
Then no amount of cuddles/rocking/singing would settle him
In the end gave him milk and he kinda calmed down. Although did winge quite a bit when put bk on cot. But managed to self settle. Feel shattered today as he still woke at 8.

Don't know if he was actually hungry or it was his teeth.

Feel like I have no energy now. Managed to speed clean bathroom earlier. But have a stack of ironing to do. Ok feeling a bit miserable today. Haven't even cleared lo breakfast dishes.

ChasingDaisy · 13/08/2013 11:39

Oscar can wave! He did his first wave at me across the car while my stepmum was holding him and has done it twice more since Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 13/08/2013 11:40

Gah. DD1 has just tipped a plateful of pasta with sauce into a box half full of soft toys, lego, and books.

GT with your SPD are you sure ironing and housework should be your priority right now? Sounds like you need to put your feet up.

TheDetective · 13/08/2013 11:58

Bad night from being put down til about 30 mins after we went to bed. He was waking every 5-10 minutes at some points.

Eventually 5mls of calpol, one further wake up needing settling, then a final wake up a few mins later where the calpol knocked him out he self settled. And that was it til 7.

Thank fuck.

No idea what it was, it's not teeth.

I did think was it something he ate, but he's not had anything unusual. Confused

Chasing what a clever little monkey! O bashes the cups together, and looks at them, but no attempts to do anything with them, even though I have shown him 16 gazillion times! Grin

ValiumQueen · 13/08/2013 12:22

PR it feels like the illness of winter has never left here. This latest thing has been nearly 4 weeks and on the second set of antibiotics. This is before he starts nursery Hmm

The Christmas bargain thread is excellent for us considering when the birthday is. Today I have bought a Sully outfit for DD2 for Christmas and sleep suits and dribble bibs for J. I used my vouchers which double up, so got stuff for 1/4 price, and without spending any actual money.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/08/2013 12:26

Sorry vq that was a tactless post, I didn't mean for it to be.

ValiumQueen · 13/08/2013 12:28

Not at all PR Smile Mine was a whingy whiney post Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 13/08/2013 12:43

My winter of illness stopped when DD1 stopped going to nursery in March. Apart from meeting her cousins in the UK she has hardly been in contact with any children since, except in the street. No close contact at all. Which is sad actually. I'm guessing your winter of illness continued because little bugs keep being brought into the house from your older daughters' nursery and school, and of course his chest hasn't had the chnce to build up strength and immunity. It sucks utter arse.

ValiumQueen · 13/08/2013 13:49

I blame DD2 completely Wink as she is very free with her smooches Smile

TheDetective · 13/08/2013 14:24

I'm thinking of stopping sterilising the bottles.

I had said I was doing it til 12 months, as milk etc etc.

But watching him, it seems so utterly pointless. I'm not convinced that a good soak in boiling hot water, then scrub and rinse wouldn't be enough now.

I'm just toying with the idea really.

I guess if he was a baby who was very prone to catching bugs I may feel a lot different.

Any thoughts? I did DS1's til 12 months.

Kyz · 13/08/2013 14:29

Sounds like quite a few bad nights last night, here's hoping for better ones tonight!

Well done r though pp that's brill!

chasing awesome, clever little o! E just bashes them, I must've stacked them and put them inside each other a million times now!

vq that explanation of bad nights and movement makes much sense!

Quiet today, hope everyone is busy doing fun things unlike me

ChasingDaisy · 13/08/2013 14:33

Det it has crossed my mind too. He has shared enough of the dog's germs and not caught any bugs so far. But I don't know if it is worth the risk. It's only 3.5 months until they are 1.

Fuck, it is only 3.5 months until they are 1 Shock

ValiumQueen · 13/08/2013 14:41

I think if you make bottles and use them fresh then fine, stop sterilising. But I make bottles and store them in fridge, plus they will be going to nursery. Milk is a perfect breeding ground for lots of lovely bugs so I will still be sterilising for as long as I use bottles. I hope to have him off them before long, but he needs to be eating first. Actually I will be sterilising bottles until he is off formula full stop. Even if he has it in a cup I will still make and store it in bottles.
